so i have been away from the game for around 3 months maybe 4 now and I am curious how hard is it to make 100mill gold now? back before i quit it was super hard unless you had a 1 in a billion luck. what is it like now?
Anyway, the gear that used to be 100M gold 3-4 months ago are now probably worth less than 10M today. As people become more attuned to min/maxing their stats and understand what specific affixes they're looking for to gear for their builds, certain items become valued differently compared to the past. For instance, Stone of Jordan rings can range from as little as 1M gold simply for an undesirable skill bonus affix (perhaps +1 second to Blizzard) to more than 300M for the desired bonus, and if it's maxed out of course, for example +12% damage to Spectral Blades. A Visage of Giyua with -9 seconds to Zombie Dogs and crit chance can fetch hundreds and hundreds of millions of gold, yet a player ignorant to witch doctor builds may see little to no value for such a voodoo mask.
100M isn't that hard to make. It still falls upon luck, just like it always has, but it adds up quickly. Focus on boosting your paragon fast to gain more MF and GF stats so you can farm more efficiently. I personally made about 70M gold in about 3 hours of playtime today (thanks to a Zuni boots drop and a Nat's boots drop). You can't expect that each time, but right now people are looking for the 500M - 1 billion gold drops as more items flood the market and competition drives down the prices of items that all have similar stats.
well my char is level 76 paragon and in that entire time i had only made 300-400mill TOTAL and spend around 90mill on my gear set for farming.
took me that much time to make that little amount of gold and this was many months ago now good value items are 10x more rare of drop. just wondering if even worth coming back to the game with how econ is atm
true but it is kind of hard finding motivation to play when you seeing the players around you getting 2bill items every week while you struggle with 10mill in a day.

What kind of people are you playing with? I'm calling BS on that. I mean, I know some people who have found items in this range occasionally, but then they had a dry spell for weeks without finding any good items, too. A 2b item every week? Smells like heavy BS.
Maybe they just post a nice EF from the AH, say it was their find, and what they're really doing is unleashing their credit card. Besides, you should really try to care less. The more godly your gear is, the harder it is to find updates. Plus, if you wrap your mind around the new crafting system, set your goal as to farm Demonic Essences and craft a new pair of monster gloves rather than waiting for that godly EF drop, it'll stop this notion that every single of your items gets a price tag; instead, every rare item will be an Essence for salvaging and a step towards your new gloves. The problem is not the game, the problem seems to be your mindset.

lol man I'm struggling to make 10mil a week.
Never found an item worth more than 40mill and I'm almost paragon lvl90 with 800h played.
Right now I have 60m and that is the most I've had at any time.
Its easy if you run a bot. Only take a few weeks. You would have so much loot you wouldn't even be able to sell anything except the best of it for millions each every day.
Thats why things cost so much at the top, and there is so much supply for the regular stuff that it dropped from 100m to 10m. Its not because specs changed, people quit thus drastically increasing supply and lowering the number of potential buyers, thus those items become not rare.
The only way to make serious money right now is to flip items on the AH, and even that is becoming harder and harder. I'm about in the same position as Flexy where I personally am almost level 60(80) and have hundreds and hundreds of hours played and I've only ever found one item over 100M (and I traded that with my wife for her only 100M+ find). All of the equipment and/or money I have now was gotten by flipping items on the AH or aggregate with 1-3M finds (which are VERY few and far between these days).
i see alot of the streamers who get new bill+ upgrades every week constant 500mil+ ah flipping over and over from them too.
I don't think having a max ah cap would be smart then all the high end items would just be sold on forums and I would rather look for items on ah than having to browse countless forum posts and having to deal with idiots on the internet trying to trade stuff.
imo best way this type of item market could have been avoided is if they had made all rare+ items bind on equip. that way you don't have every single good item that has dropped in past 6 months floating around the economy continually growing in size every day. my 2 cents.
