After playing the Open Beta I have comments and questions.......
Is it just me or are loot drops absolutlely boring as all hell? 3 playthroughs of the beta yields Whites (no pickup) Blues (nothing special) Rare (Blues I had at the time were better), health globes, potions and Gold. Whatever happened to fun interesting stuff from D2 like Etheral items/Sockets/Gems/Runes???? (Yeah Yeah.........go play diablo 2 if you want that stuff. I know.)
-Drops-
1. Are there new types of drops expected past what we've seen in the beta? I know runes were removed as drops and that pisses me off. Anything replace those as drops?
2. Is Blizzard expecting their players to just craft the items they need and what they can't craft, Buy on the auction house??
3. Is dropped loot only good for salvaging for crafting or putting on the AH? Or do you think hunting for gear is still going to be fun?
-Weapons Vs Classes-
4. Can all classes swing a melee weapon if I want them to? Can I put an ax on a Monk and hack away? I know it's not smart or intended play but why limit me?
5. How does a melee weapon affect each class and their abilities? I think I read that spell damage gets increased for a Wiz depending on the weapon damage for the weapon she's holding for example.
-General questions just for fun-
6.Why does this game appeal to you?
7, How is D3 an improvement on the Hack and Slash Genre in your opinion?
8. Would you prefer to play a D2 Necro or D3 Witch Doctor?
9. I felt happier leaving my hireling in town than to journey with him.....How about you?
10. If you are generally a solo player will you miss the Players X command from D2?
-Things I love about D3 after only 2 days of playing-
I think they got multiplayer perfect in this game!!! Big Props!
Game does feel creepy and I love it!
I enjoy the achievement system.
I like the idea of enviroment kills.
I will add to Zera's Answers a bit.
1) we know things happen beyond the beta, and beyond normal that we are not yet informed of. There are definitely socketed items and gems
2/3) Blizz expects end game gear to include drops of rares/legendaries/sets as well as a crafted item or two, crafted gear is there to supplement bad luck and let you choose to improve a specific item slot.
4) Yes, but abilities are nearly always better (only exception I know of is possibly a Wiz with enchanted weapon active)
5) all abilities are based on weapon stats (check out the Advanced tool tips option for help. ALso, DH can't use some arrow based abilities without a bow.
6) A lot of improvements to the genre including the ability to learn and improve while you play.
7)Let me play the whole game and' I'll make a list
8) don't feel these classes are as close as everyone thinks, but the Doc because he's much more versatile
9) jury is still out
10)Players X was needed due to some poor design decisions, It won't be missed in D3 and you won't need the help to get max level.

If that made sense to you, Bravo! I think I even confused myself...
