Yes, also the game will be about the same length as Diablo 2 which is a huge disappointment imo.
I can beat the game on normal pretty much in 20 hours. That is doing all side quests nothing more, nothing less.
Same deal for Diablo 3.
yeah. though its different when you play a game and have no idea what to expect. my frist run with diablo 2 my char maxed out at lvl 50's and i played with a few friends only never went to public games. and took me 2 in a half years of playing only to get to about act 3 in hell hahaha.
so just because they say its about the same length as diablo 2, they should have it to where you cant beat it in 20 hours.
Sounds fine with me, since there will be 3 difficulties, and the game will be more challenging than before. Also it gives the chance to make the expansion longer. But greatest benefit of all is that we get the game sooner.
Tell me something though. Is Diablo 3 going to be as long as Diablo 2 in the form of having 4 acts (ie. the same size) or they may be the same size as far as the number of acts but each act will contain much more with the optional side quests and such. I say it is the latter of these two because of all the production time ... I mean it is going on 2 1/2 years and this is not including the work done before the official "We are making Diablo 3" announcement, and there is probably at least 3/4 of a year to go before it will officially hit the shelves.
Yeah I don't know what some of you are worried about. Playing D2 the first time through took me quite awhile. And plus with all the extra features you will likely be spending more time between killing things and even just taking in all the scenery.
Yeah and I think it will be challenging enough as well that it will add gameplay hours. I mean, with the town portal you really could get past anything in D2. D1 was much harder in that respect because you could save and it didn't make you exit and nothing respawned. But you couldn't just die and then go get your body and the boss had as much health as you had left him with so I think it's very good they're changing that.
I think diablo3 will have more replayability than diablo 2 so.......

Yeah and not just with the multiplayer. They're doing what they can to make the campaign more interesting to replay. Just like they did with SC2. I was pleased with the amount of choices you could make in the story mode.

There isn't a campaign mode in Diablo III. Not in the sense of 'Campaign' as there is in Starcraft II.
Eh, you know what I meant. Like, just playing through single player and doing certain things you can't do in multiplayer.
Once the game came down to rushing and just leveling up as fast as you could and obsessing over getting a torch or anni, or a Mara's, that's what really killed the game for me in the end. Then I found Eastern Sun.

Why doesn't everyone think things through like this?

Have they announced how many quest where each act? Because from what i know blizzard really hasn't released to much about the lore and quests of this game. Also who knows what they got in-store for end game content. There are so many things they can do to make the end of the game alot of fun. Then they havent said nothing about pvp as far as my knowledge goes so your guess on that is as good as mine. Cant forget your gonna be recipe hunting for crafting and going for achievements. So i am not to worried on what blizzard is gonna give us. Shoot i have played diablo 2 for 7 years just because its an awesome game. Only blizzard knows.
How can it be the same length as Diablo II, when there are so many side quests, character specific quests, and all that? If it were to be the same length, even roughly, there'd have to be only about 5 quests in each act, since you will also have the aforementioned quests to do. I'm a bit lost on this one.
Has blizzard confirmed that there are only going to be 4 acts in Diablo 3?

And Diablo 2 has the most re-playability out of any multiplayer RPG ever made so that would be no mean feat..
