I am concerned about the skill usabilty of blizzard and energy twister. although i cannot test this myself wihout a key. i have watched over 50 hours of diablo 3 stream and every streamer i have seen confirmed my thoughts that this type of skill is too weak.
my concern is the mechanic of "X" damage per second for "y" seconds
energy twister currently deals 46% damage per second and blizzard deals 50% damage per second for 3 seconds.
these are Damage over time skills.
but when we compare these to skils such as
ray of frost or disentegrate which deal 135% damage and 155% damage. and are also constant "streams of damage"
then we can consider meteor
which deals 305% weapon damage on a single hit and then 50% for 3 seconds.
the secondary effect of metor is already more powerful than the entire blizzard spell
I am concerned that a spell which is the companies namesake bight end up being useless.
and that i have yet to see few if any posts about what i think maybe be a huge issue if its stays in its current state.
I am curios as to how other pople think the current system is and if these are indeed issues that need to be adress or if i am missing some key point that makes these skills viable
I think Blizzard will be quite good. It looks more like a defensive skill that does some damage. We are still in beta and no skill is final even when the game goes life skills will change if needed.
I do see some good uses for Energy Twister. One would be for a melee build with the Twister staying in place and doing some extra damage over the time. But for most melee builds for the wizard I planned had other skills in the slots.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
Its really hard to tell what abilities will be good later in the game. Fight mechanics in later lvls and later difficulties could differ greatly from area to area, so I really dont think any one build will be viable from start to finish. I truly believe that Blizzard has put the ability to change your abilities pretty much anytime for a reason.
I f anyone remembers from D2, once you played through once and started nightmare there were always mobs (normally specials) that were immune to something, even worse in hell, where every mob was immune to a form of damage.

Energy Twister looks like a piece. Same with Shock Pulse. Choosing where your spell goes is KINDA important.
