Today I want to start a 5 video progression series from T1 to T5 for those either new to Demon Hunter or looking to play one in Seasons. In my experience it takes (on average) about 50-100 hours starting from scratch to acquire your endgame set and become relatively efficient in T6, but in the interim you still need a build and gearing strategy.
In this video I go over the build, paragon (only 40 total points), entry level gear (no set bonuses or legendary gems), and show this Ball Lightning variation in action. You can make it work quite well with less than 700k sheet damage and under 5 million toughness, facetanking nearly everything. Enjoy and be on the lookout for T2!
I fully expect at least 1 response like this, which misses the point of the video. I do recall saying '50-100 hours'. Not 100. There are quite a few builds that work and I'm showcasing a progression build that works for multiple torments without hard to acquire gear - exception being additional pieces of M6, but that's what you're working towards anyway.
he didnt say new player, but new dh or experienced dh new to season.
in the frst case you would even start with crafted gear and paragon exp. in the second, you had some experience. anyways, dh is not that difficult as it would require 100 hours to get familiar with its playstyle.
after the OP i didnt feel inclined to watch the video and the reddit post worked very well for me gearing up in season and season hc.
also i like the time below m6 where you actually use generators.
There's a 3rd 'subsect' - new players in general, or those who don't play much and therefore don't have resources to craft a bunch of gear right away, which actually accounts for a large percentage of the playerbase.
Anyway, everyone is welcome to play however they want. This progression spec is what I will be using if I roll another DH on seasons at some point.
Today I present the next step in the progression - T2. By this point you should have one higher rank on your gems (Flawless Imperial), at least one other usable legendary with either skill or elemental damage, and a ring or amulet with a socket for an unranked Pain Enhancer. Because Ball Lightning crits like crazy, you'll be tagging every target with this gem, effectively doubling your total damage output. Additionally, another piece of Marauder's will likely be found by now.
In this video I briefly go over the build (check out the T1 video for the concept as it remains unchanged), paragon (equivalent of P80), gear, and show some T2 action. Enjoy and be on the lookout for T3 where I'll be adding the Efficacious Toxin gem for even more free damage!
Today I present the next step in the progression - T3. You'll have slightly higher gems, another piece of Marauder's, a couple legendary gems for some free damage, and any Ring of Royal Grandeur, allowing for the 4 piece set bonus and making T3 a breeze.
In this video I briefly go over the build (check out the T1 video for the concept as it remains unchanged), paragon (equivalent of P120), gear, and show some T3 action. Enjoy and be on the lookout for the next part!
Today I present the next step in the progression - T4. By now you'll have a few higher ranked normal gems, extra ranks on your legendary gems, another piece of Marauder's, and a 3rd legendary gem - Bane of the Powerful.
In this video I briefly go over the build (check out the T1 video for the concept as it remains unchanged), paragon (equivalent of P160), gear, and show some T4 action. Enjoy and be on the lookout for the final part!
Today I present the last part of the progression - T5. At this point you'll have 5 pieces of the Marauder set and a Ring of Royal Grandeur, allowing for 'entry-level' M6. Once you make the switch further ranks on legendary gems are not necessary and T5 is pretty straightforward. You may even jump straight into T6, though I'd recommend a few hours here first to rank up your Emeralds and get better rolls on gear.
In this video I briefly go over the build, paragon (equivalent of P200), gear, and show some T5 action. Enjoy and check out the various T6/greater rift build videos available at the endgame!
