Personally, I didn't find anything to complain about either the Demon Hunter's voice or what she said - until I stumbled upon this thread. If I hadn't, I would probably still be okay with her and her voice. But now, when the seed of doubt has been planted...
PS: Blizzard has never been known for its awesome creativity, but diamond-hard execution and awesome gameplay brought by endless iterations. I'll have the best of recycled ideas with 'just' a topping of own creativity with flawless execution over crappy half-finished creative games any day.
Except for Diablo I.
And Warcraft II.
I know modern Blizzard likes to describe themselves as above, but it's a very modern development.
Look at SC2.
Now, stop expecting anything but shitty clichés and "overacted" voices.
Because thats all they can do now.
Hehe, yeah that is really horrible! Playing the campaign i sometimes cringed at- and became nausiated with the lines and clichés, please do better with DIII !!
On a sidenote to this, I want some characters/NPC's to have an irsh/scottish accent- that would make my day!
I'll need to hear her talk in-game for me to judge her voice. But it might fit her character better then other voices can. I really don't see why you make such a big fuss over it now. People are reminded by familiar smells, sights and sounds, as such you associate a different image of it in your mind's eye then someone else does. The moment you're playing a game as your character that changes as you have a clear image of your character on screen to replace the image in your mind.
Well, that's if the voice acting will be done well.

"Shot in the back, stabbed through the neck, it's not that bad... True fear is when you see it coming, there's time to worry."
Why does everyone complain about the smallest things? And the biggest things? And the medium sized things?
Do you realize that this game is going to kick ass, and once you are fully immersed you will be so happy and pleased by the corny and cartoonish voices representing your favorite characters?
If there was realistic dialog and perfect voice acting you would have something across between a quentin tarantino movie and a broadway play. Those things arent very Diablo in my opinion.
When I think of Diablo I think of stupid lines like "You may not pass" being repeated over and over. If every time I went up to a palace guard in D3 and he had a timely anecdote to rattle off about reasons for me not being able to pass, all done in a perfectly trained middle eastern accent... I would turn off the game out of boredom.
I agree with the OP. I HATE that accent. The worgens in WoW have that accent too which is one reason i hated the starting zone. The female DH voice makes me cringe and brings back bad memories of WoW...
I kind of like it actually. It feels somewhat dark and bitter, almost a bit sexy to a point. Then again, I'm not english by birth. Having it as my second language, I rarely notice the difference of accents in voices the same as most others do.
In other words, I live in denial regarding these things. ^^
