Today I want to look at a more popular choice for HOTA - Fire/Smash, along with the fire Ancients. No Unity this time - just straight DPS with SoJ. A Cindercoat is also mandatory for sufficient cost reduction to allow for a generator-free spam build.
In this video I show the build, paragon points, solo a T6 rift, discuss Unity vs. SoJ, fire vs. physical Ancients, Taskers vs. Magefists, and more. Enjoy!
I believe you'll be lacking some mitigation and crowd control once you hit GR30 with this build, which relies on burning down the ennemies before they can really hit you. But its playground is apparently rift VI farming, which it does a hell of a good job at that.
Otherwise, very good build presentation. I happen to really enjoy good theorycrafting along with some testing. Somehow, I found this one more thorough than the last couple ones. Good job, keep it up!

Thanks. I think G30+ is going to require Unity honestly, unless you're going EQ with Ignore Pain or Raekors. Unity may actually be a replacement for SoJ in solo Grifts. Future PTR barb videos I'll be making will all be ~G30 build presentations, which is between T7-T8.
Nice vid, maybe you can use furious charge with stamina instead of sprint and buff dps some with another passive then unforgiving, also i would like to ask what other options u recommend instead of furnace since i dont have one. i have a maxed rolled maximus with does decent dmg now on ptr but a dual wield with burning axe and a 30% sunkeeper sound good as well especially with hota where you get the ats bonus. this build is kinda what i used since ROS release and IK was the first set i obtained (did use asheare then aswell) but on live it doesent go further then T4 so im glad it works now since i dont feel like bunny hopping or pinballing
Unless you have fury generation (fury ancients), dual wielding for HOTA is not good in 2.1. 2h is more sheet dps than dual wield anyway, and you STILL run out of fury even with a 1.0 APS weapon.
