Now my biggest issue is this: do I go for more survivability, or do I need more damage? Right now I have a 37.5 crit chance and 272 Crit damage increase total. I pretty much melt in act 3, but I don't THINK I'm playing wrong. I'm just popping Impunity then Battle Rage, smacking the enemy once or twice for fury, and then Sprinting/WWing through them, popping WotB when necessary (either for removing CC or just to kill faster.) I just seem to get eaten alive in the later parts of Act 3, namely the path to Ghom.
Oh, as another side: my lowest resist is 536. Is this potentially the problem?
Last i checked, ww barb is pretty gear intensive, If i remember correctly, u need around 800-1k for act 3 and 4 and phy resist need to be yet higher, damage wise, try get min 35k but u probably already hit that with shout on.
You need more LoH to survive, a little helps a lot since your tornadoes tick so quick. I recommend 1000.
Otherwise your resist could be a little higher (focus on all res AND +fire or +phy if possible), health a little higher, damage is fine, crit% is fine unless you find yourself losing fury too often, then get more crit but if you are good then it doesn't matter too much.
Also, since (from what I see) your fury generation isn't massively high, I am assuming it is difficult for you to keep up Thrive on Chaos, and so I would recommend you to use Slaughter instead. Make a few tornadoes around a tough elite pack that is eating you up, then pop WoTB and all your crits will cause blood explosions and melt everything.
4.2k armor, 500 res all, 30k hp, 900 loh (rocked 500 for a while but was a lil rough) got me through a3 ez. act 4 u need 900. idk what to say, ur stats are all better than mine and u have block so.... wtf? get more crit chance.... especially using a shield. i have 48.5% including passives, no buffs. ias helps a ton also
With a shield, u should have around 55-60 crit chance btw however id rather rock 2.4k loh than a shield. I learned/practiced this build with duel 900 loh socket weps with cruddy dps. ive eventually dropped it down to 900, and will be going to 500 loh and 3-6 life steal hopefully. i gues my best advice would be toget tornados down. Ive been watching some ww spec's players lately and they spend half their time running in circles not spinning in the center, thus getting cruddy tornado placements. If none of this worlds, useoverpower ca. it may have been nerfed, but its still strong as hell (35%!!!)
Bah, sorry about that. I actually HAVE another weapon, an axe I crafted. I was using a shield and forgot to swap it out the last time I logged out. The stats I reported were with the other axe, not the shield. The shield gives me another 7% crit chance and about 5k more health, though I lose some crit damage %.
Anyway, my issue is not placement or keeping my fury generating, I do that fine enough. It's just certain mob combinations, and most mobs in general in act 3, eat me alive. I drop almost instantly, especially vs. Molten, Fire-Chains, Reflect Damage. So I tried out the shield for a bit to see if that would help.
I would LOVE to replace my rings, but the money just doesn't come in for me. Any decent rings with crit chance and crit damage on them are crazy expensive.
Thanks for the responses, but I was kind of hoping for more specifics on my gear and where I could make improvements that way, because the play style is something I have down. I just fall apart because the incoming damage is so high in act 3.
As a last tidbit of information, my resists fully buffed are in the 800-900 range. Honestly at this point it seems my biggest enemy is Molten. Do I just need to play differently against molten mobs, and just tornado-kite them until I get more resist? MOST other things aren't an issue, other than the random CC heavy group that I bump into JUST after my WotB ran out, and then there are just certain enemy types that can wreck me fast. Is the general concensus on those issues to skip whirlwind unless you need to cut through your enemy and get to the other side, and otherwise just kite?

First this quote is wrong. WW tornado like the op is one of the least gear dependant spec in the game. Op your resist on shout is fine. Your build is also fine for low dps barb, once you reach a certain dps you can feel more confortable one shooting mobs with WOTB slaughter rune. One thing to change, if you dont wear a shield (you are tornado you should dw) use nerve of steel, it will give more armor then tough as nails. Your life on hit above 1200 is acceptable.
To make act 3 and 4 easier from there you need to upgrade dps. More crit chance, yours is pretty low. You need crit chance on every possible item. Second boost your crit dmg, since your crit should be above 50% easily outside of WOTB, crit damage is much more powerful then str, my tornado crit for 25k with only 1450 str. Again just like crit chance, get crit dmg on every possible pieces and both weapon with sockets.
You mention molten being your bane. Thats because you dont need to stand in them as tornado. Simply swipe over the molten to land tornados across elites and let the damage heal you and give you fury then repeat. Once your dps is high they die very quickly to such tactic that it wont matter the damage it can do. My hp, resist, armor is about the same as yours, mabye slightly over and i do act 3 and 4 farms eye closed. The difference is my unbuffed dps is 56k.
I do regular checks on those passives when I upgrade gear, but I only have like 30k hp, some of that coming from increase hp %, so my current passive still beats out the vit one by about 70-80 armor. And yeah, I try cutting across the Molten stuff, but when it's a champion group and there are like 5 of em, I sometimes get killed even when just cutting across.
Thanks for the info though, anyone have any advice about specific gear I should work on improving first?
