I'm trying to understand what the hell were they thinking adding those uglyass shoulders and head!??!
Everyone looks epic only we look like we took some random piece of junk from the floor and put it on our shoulders and head. It's not even matching the color of the set.
I mean, I guess the rest of the armor looks good but the shoulders and head pieces just look so wrong it makes me want to cry. It's like they did half a job and moved on to the next char :/
But seriously now, I may be rerolling Monk to Wizard \ Barb.
Not just because of the armor, because it feels like the straw that breaks the camels back.
We have the least skills, least passives, least resource generation, and we have the worst looking armor as well?
Seriously?
I personally think the wizard armor looks more stupid than the monks...but opinions are opinions. I don't care to much about armor looks anyway...i mean, have you seen harlequin crest shako? A disgusting green cap...yep everyone ran around with that ugly puke stained cap...looks don't truly matter imo.

I do think they matter and I'm quite sure most people do as well.
It does look a bit silly.. but you can always transparent-dye the helmet :-) The shoulders hmm... well they're not the only model thankfully, there has to be *one* shoulderpad set that looks half decent I hope..?
As for the other classes, gotta say they all look bad-ass to me. Love the Barb's Sauron style, and the wizard with the crown/armor/dress thing going on. Really battle-mage-ish. And the WD has a cool thing going on too.

I'm in this club also. I mean looks are less important to me. Got used to shako, will get used to this thing as well. Though I'm pretty sure we'll have our alternatives. Oh, and I also like wizard's set the most. So, really, opinions. But I support the OP nevertheless, I do think monk's hat and shoulders are ugly. It's just I won't really be noticing it after a week of playing a monk in this armor.

Wait wait. So I can make both helm and shoulders disappear? are you 100% sure about this? I don't mind the rest of the gear tbh. looks ok'ish. Not supermegaultraawesome like the rest, but its livable.
I think it looks alright, a good dye job will do ll the armors good. I seem tohave the strongest issue with the helms, the samurai one is alright but some of the other ones lead me to feel that my monk needs a legendary helm just to look good. The shoulders look weird but I don't think they are bad. I'm not tottally fooling myself, comparitavely the monk has the worst armor. The monk never has the nicest looking model for any of the armor sets.
I think the problem is that this game uses pretty low polygon counts for the characters, so to distinguish high end equipment, they can't rely on little details, but instead have to rely on increasing the ornamentation. Then there is the matter of distinguishing the five classes, even when they are covered from head to too in metal armor. They seem to have decided the best way to manage that, is by giving every class a few bold signature looks that are unmistakable.
They look awful to me now, but watching everyone slowly level, and their gear change slowly over time, the progression will pull you into accepting each set as the next logical step for that class. Much like real fashion. Some things look absurd out of context, but as things shift season to season some trends get slowly more dramatic and the pace of change pulls you into accepting it.
Compared to Diablo II armor looks, these look more gaudy, more inpractical, and have a very WoW feel to them. It's not a game breaker, but disapointing. And out of context, mid grade armors will be the best looking. If you look at everyone's favorite artwork for each character, they are in simpler, mid game armors.

I wish there was some way to "transfigurate" like in WoW. To chose your armor regardless of its tier ;s

You are wrong. I will always and forever hate skinny jeans. The guys here in Korea that wear it must leave their "junk" at home.

To be honest I don't mind the armor sets. This one or others. Each class has that set that looks a dash off from normal. Theres a watch doctor set that makes him look like a palm tree. theres a Demon hunter set that makes you look like a terminator. Don't get me wrong I like the sets , Each person will find that something odd.
Vanishing Dye is your friend With the bugged Waypoints we can buy it... I tried it on my Helmet and it works. The Dye costs you 360 Gold atm... thats nothing. I didnt try to use it on shoulders... but it should work, other dyes work on the shoulders and I dont see a diffrent between the normal dyes and vanishing dye.
Iv herd the vender with the dyes gets different ones each time you log in and talk to her. If so do you think that she will still have the dyes or do you think that she will have a smaller or set list of dyes?
There is a jpg floating around that shows 15 "tiers" of craftable items for each class. The final monk one arguably looks the best of the 5 classes. It is a huge spoiler though, so click at your own discretion
