This is the Inarius build that I've been running since the beginning, but I wanted to see how hard it was hit by the hotfix that reduced the proc rate on the bone storm before doing a guide. The difference is definitely noticeable - as much in healing as damage - but I can still do 80+ with relative comfort. My GR 80 average pre-hotfix was about 6 minutes and now it's closer to 7. I've messed around with some alternatives to Mirinae - BotP and WoL primarily - and I wasn't particularly keen on either. The damage on WoL is okay and more consistent (in density anyway) than Mirinae but you get zero mitigation from it, either in the form of healing or DR. BotP gives you some DR but the damage felt noticeably worse. After doing some more testing with GoET I think I'd actually rank it #2 for the slot - it's pretty good for helping with trash and giving you a little mitigation too. I found that I prefer it over WoL. I think I still prefer Mirinae in the slot even after the hotfix though. Mirinae feels a lot better on a RG/lone elite with no corpses too.
Basically the idea here is to get into the thick of things and use Siphon Blood to proc Blood Novas from Iron Rose which, combined with the bone storm and Pain Enhancer, kills off trash pretty quickly, and then using the corpses to lance the biggest baddie in the pack.
Some differences from the "cookie cutter" form of this build:
- I use Nemesis Bracers instead of Ancient Parthan Defenders. I'm not actually convinced that APD gives you much in the way of mitigation - it's giving you DR while enemies are stunned but the thing is... enemies that are stunned are doing no damage to you in the first place (other than stuff like ground effects of course). We already have a ton of DR (around 93%) anyway. Nemesis Bracers vastly speed up clear times without significantly impacting survivability, in my opinion. The one scenario in which APD is actually really useful is when you're surrounded by a large number of ranged enemies (like the spear-chucking goat dudes) that are outside your stun range - in that case the stunned nearby enemies are giving you mitigation for the enemies on the outside. That can be a legitimate concern in specific situations, but generally speaking I just think Nemesis Bracers is a much better option overall.
- I use Aura of Frailty instead of Land of the Dead: Frozen Lands. 1) I hate long cooldown skills because typically you end up having to go very far out of your way into CDR in order to make them practical and they end up making your damage feel completely lopsided 2) I hate being completely built around one specific thing (killing elites) and then having everything else feel terrible - I like getting a good all-round experience 3) the improvement in kill speed shouldn't be underestimated - every single enemy, elite, and even the RG dies when they hit 15% health - it really adds up over the course of the entire rift 4) Aura of Frailty lets us ensure that we're getting the damage bonus from Trag's Fang on nearby enemies even if Decrepify hasn't been cast on them yet
- I use Visceral Impact on Corpse Lance rather than Brittle Touch. Because we're not using Land of the Dead: Frozen Lands, the 3 second stun comes in incredibly handy for ensuring that we get the full damage bonus from Krysbin's. And as an added bonus it's Physical damage so we can get extra bang out of % Physical damage because our Siphon Blood, Blood Novas, Corpse Lance, and Pain Enhancer are all Physical. I've also got 63% CHC so the CHC increase of Brittle Touch seems kinda "meh" to me.
- Trag's Fang and Iron Rose are equipped with Shadowhook cubed. Decrepify has to be manually cast in order for it to be applied to enemies, but we've got the benefit of healing via Siphon Blood and some nice AOE damage from Iron Rose. You really want to get your health as high as possible (I've got a little over 1.3 million HP right now) because the higher your HP, the more benefit you're getting from Siphon Blood and Mirinae heals. I've considered trying to swap out a passive for Dark Reaping and then using Drain Life rather than Blood Sucker on Siphon Blood, which would provide some really nice healing and should work for the majority of the rift, but the potential problem there is with the RG - you're only able to cast Bone Armor/Decrepify a total of 3 times (with 330 Essence) before the DR from Aquila Cuirass will drop without some form of essence recovery.
Some notes on how to actually play this build:
1) Teleport into a group of enemies with Blood Rush
2) Pop Bone Armor
3) Cast Decrepify (this should really be first, but I usually don't :P)
4) Start channeling Siphon Blood (I normally use my "attack in place" key while doing this, but it's not required)
5) Start pressing Corpse Lance on the biggest threat while still doing #4
I wanted to point out #5 because it's been brought to my attention that not everyone is aware that you can do both at the same time. If you're not doing this, you're losing out both on damage and healing, so it's really important. I have Corpse Lance bound to "A" on my keyboard, so I'm just holding left-click and then repeatedly pressing A at the same time.
NOTE: I really want to try out a Wisdom of Kalan + Convention of Elements for this setup, as I could see that potentially being superior but unfortunately I've yet to get a Kalan that wasn't complete garbage. If I were using Kalan I could potentially drop Aquilla and replace it with Corpsewhisper Pauldrons and using Drain Life instead of Blood Sucker on Siphon Blood would be a lot more feasible because you'd no longer need to remain above 90% essence at all times - I'd have to figure out which passive to swap out for Dark Reaping though. It'd probably be Overwhelming Essence honestly, which I'd hate to do, but I'd probably miss it the least out of all four. Shout out to exphryl on reddit for giving me the idea.
Here's a video of me testing Kalan + CoE + Corpsewhisper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLUXKymo3X0
Until I get an Int/CHC/CHD/Socket one I'll be sticking with Endless Walk, but I think it has a lot of potential.
I cubed rorg and corpsewhisperer and wearing coe katlan Aquila and krysbin in group to get toughness of Aquila and dmg of corpsewhisperer. Seems like best of both worlds. Any issues with this?
also for anyone who has tried this and the typical bonestorm build, which would you say has the most potential for group rifts?
Thnx a lot for this build! I could not give it a try yet, because of missing required items, but as I am a HC-only player, this could be my GR-pushing option this Season.

Could Broken Promises be a viable option, when CHC is that important for the build?
The highest I've gone with it so far is 87, which I did in about 12 minutes. Averages for me are GR80 in about 6 minutes and GR85 in about 9. I've had a few people with more paragon (2k) than me (1k) tell me they've done 90 in about 8 minutes with it.
Yeah, you're right. I went ahead and changed it. With Kalan, you're getting the same amount of DR, you just need to be at 15 stacks to get it (which is why Unity is better for solo). I added a note about it to the cube section. Thanks for mentioning it!
Gave this a try on just a 65. Took way too long to kill the GR because there were no corpses or even a long cooldown skill to assist.
I can do solo 85 fairly fast but I do prefer to run in a group - more fun, more exp, and usually there's always an Impale DH / Rathma necro to help take care of the RG.
Well done. The build is really fun to play with no downtime and no gimmicky rotations.
Got in the upper 70's with mediocre gear. Only the Guardians in higher GR's are a litte
annoying if there are no corpses left. Thank's for sharing.
I've been looking at the notes. I think there's potential with Scythe of the Cycle + Bloodtide Blade, though Bloodtide still has the issue of needing density to really do its work. At that point the damage would be pretty much exclusively in Iron Rose so I think I'd swap Mirinae for Bane of the Powerful or possibly Gogok (leaning more to Powerful). I'd also swap Corpse Lance to Corpse Explosion: Dead Cold since both CL and CE damage would be garbage at that point, but we still want something for CC. Decrepify will be less important because of the change to Dayntee's, so it could probably be changed to something like Bone Spirit: Possession (Charm) or Ice Golem (Freeze). Drain Life could be used as the rune on Siphon Blood since we'd no longer have any essence costs at that point (Bone Armor's cost is getting removed and Decrepify would be gone).
The damage, in density, should actually be pretty good, but I would fear problems with single elites or the RG.
Hello !
Thanks for your build, i play with it since weeks.
I've read the ptr patchnote and seen this :
Fixed an issue preventing the free Blood Nova granted by the Iron Rose from correctly granting the damage bonus from the Trag’Oul’s six-piece bonus.
If i understand well, it mean that your build will be far better with tragoul now, and more mobile !
hello
i've found this build and it's similar of many builds inarius but it's working!!!!!!!
i try with gem Wreath of Lightning or Gem of Efficacious Toxin it's fun
thank you for your job
Yes! Being able to open doors and still have the optimal damage output is exciting! Personally I have not yet pushed past 67 yet. But I am still getting all my gear Ancient. Just the pants still to go at this stage(oops! just checked...need an ancient traveler's pledge, too). Leveled up an alt (a monk) to farm enough Topaz to put Caldesann's on all of it. Been leveling the legendary gems with my main to keep her paragon's coming as well. Carpal tunnel is my main hurdle at the stage!
This build allowed me to finally break the GR70 barrier. It was stupid simple too. My DPS is still quite low but I finished with a few min to spare. Did not have the off hand item but everything else matched. All ancient Inarius set helped. Used the Nemisis bracers variant. Using AutoHotKey for two of the abilities. Helps avoid wrist damage The NumLock trick seems to forget its set and having to reset it in the middle of a fight is frustrating. Auto HotKey to the rescue!
Zombeaver, you genius!
Did a gr80 in 5+minutes today, with paragon 1076. I did it with Wisdom + CoE combo, Corpse Whisperer in cube, Drain Life and Dark Reaping over Overwhleming Essence. Having a blast with this build, thanks!
Great Build and super easy to play. Like the poster above me, i also went with Wisdom+CoE. Additionally, I also swapped out Unity for Lornelle's Sunstone in the cube.
