Convention of Elements
Weapon - You can use vitality over attack speed on weapon if extra defense is needed.
Hellfire Amulet - brawler should be your 5th passive, You can also use nerves of steel for higher gr.
Chest - Str, Vit, Elite Reduction, socket is only good if you have a secondary resist of physical. I find non ancient IK chests with these stats are fine to use and you can make them easily in your cube.
Secondary Resists - Any piece of gear that has no all res and can roll a secondary res should have mostly physical, lightning is second best and 1 or 2 pieces of light res is good.
Gems - Throw up between diamonds and rubys, diamonds might be a little better. Use a life 23% gem in helm as it will be doubled by leorics crown in your cube.

Make sure to grab max fury in paragon because hammer of the ancients gains 1% crit for every 5 fury you have. So 50 max fury in para is 10% crit to hammer of the ancients. You can grab a few points in vitality here over str if needed but its not recommended.
Build Guide
Hey guys Chainer here from twitch.tv/chainerfails
If you have any questions or want to hang out come stop by my live stream.
This is an Immortal Kings Hammer of the Ancients build based around high end greater rift progression in groups. This build brings very high single target and aoe damage but has very little sustain. A zdps heal monk in your group is required to play this build as it will provide you 55% damage reduction, over 450k life per second, 80% incoming damage debuff, 40% outgoing damage buff, 20% outgoing mob damage debuff, and stack mobs close together for your small radius on hammer of the ancients/area damage. We managed to finish at rank 1 2 player by the end of the 2.3 ptr so if you wanna see how this build works and the strategies used here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWJY-TPkrAU
Yes there is still a bug with AD and specifically the HotA bracers. However, there is still benefit from AD currently and given the fact that HotA is the strongest build a this moment I would still go for it. Otherwise, for better synergy of AD and skill, you can go for the Seismic Slam build that Mannercookie uploaded recently. It does not seem optimized yet tho.
I personally use a weapon with STR, VIT, % Damage. I only add the AD on shoulders and maybe rings reaching a total of 89% whch works like a charm for now.
.
when you use HOTA you proc the one where you have to spend.
when you use chage you proc the other one where you generete fury
with the use of hota and chage, hota spend, chage generete
For non-season BotT/PE/Taeguk
If you do not use Weapon's Master or Animocity then you may have fury issues if the density is not high. In very high densities, the shoulders while CotA is active should provide enough fury.
One point to remember which is not very clear to everyone is that the Gavel of Judgement returns fury when there are 3 or less mobs per hit otherwise it COSTS fury.
Hi guys!
Just a quick question, i understand that this build is optimal for barbs in a 4 man group. However, what if i'm running a double barb composition? 1 Barb will go for this HOTA build but should the other barb go HOTA as well? Or should he go WW (solo GR spec) or pure zdps WW spec?
This is assuming the runs are not purely for exp and we are not bringing the 2nd barb as an exp leech. Is there a stronger spec the 2nd barb can go for? Or is the zdps exp barb spec the best spec even when trying to push higher GR?
Thanks!
Great great build Chainer, thanks! I noticed that you've updated the Leoric Crown to Strongarm Bracers in the cube, can you please explain this change? Or anyone who knows for that matter?
yea he updated it, i belive its because you dont really need the extra hp, hp doesnt "really" add to your survivability, you just "last longer in battle" and, and the extra dmg is needed for high gr's.
- im not that good, but i think i know how the build works. But im not sure why it says that you should use weapons master (passive), ive played without it for a long time now, and i havent noticed any difference, other then that you are a bit slower to get your fury when you start or die. - if there is a reason pls tell me I switched weapons master out for brawler and have nerves of steel on hellfire
EDIT:
Im always at full fury after 5/10 sec.. and when you are at full fury all the time the passive becomes useless
How does the addition of Strongarm proc? I don't see anything that causes knock back in the current iteration of the build.
Furious Charge causes knockback, thus proc'ing both strongarm and F&R rings.
Ah. ok. Thanks
ThanksIs there any point using Strongarm bracers in the cube if the zdps monk is allredy using it?
Why not Taeguk over pain enhancer, it gives a lot more single target damage and it is very easy to keep up and you don't need the poison damage if you run with an EP monk. And if you run double hota or carne wd you can just have the other hota run enhancer and you keep taeguk or vice versa.
Wow thanks bro works like a charm:Thumbs Up:
How do you proc Strongarms?
@ kardszy F-charge i think
Do "Strongarm Bracers" braces stack if the monk is also using them? It seems like it would be better to run something else if not.
