D3 crashes during startup

  • The game appears to launch then the window flashes open on the screen for a moment and immediately closes. there is no error code or anything. I have tried all tricks I could find including the ones regarding windows 10 I even tried using old graphics drivers. I am using a new asus laptop I just got it is the ROG gl502vt. it has an NVidia 970m gtx.
  • Ashikaga,

Could you please post the D3Debug.txt file from your main Diablo III folder?
  • Ashikaga,

It is ending abruptly, and without an error being indicated which is what I was looking for. The next lines should have been something like:

(as taken from my D3Debug.txt file from several days ago)

So it appears to have ended while querying the graphics capabilities or reading them from dxdiag or an equivalent system.

Could I get you to please post your DxDiag report? You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool:

    Press Windows Key + R.
    Type DxDiag and press Enter.
In the DxDiag window, at the bottom, click Save All Information.
Name the file "dxdiag" and click Save. (note where it's been saved so you can find it)

Locate the Dxdiag.txt file just created and open it to copy and paste ALL of it's contents into your reply as you did with the D3Debug.txt file.
