"Your Video Driver May Need to Be Updated"

  • I just got this message for the first time when starting Diablo 3 today. I haven't changed my video card, OS, or video drivers recently, and have played D3 as recently as yesterday without ever seeing this. My config:

AMD 6990M GPU (UniflL AMD 14.4 drivers, for switchable graphics)
    Windows 7 SP1

Did something change recently in how this error message is triggered. I know that my laptop has no issue running D3 at near max settings so this is puzzling to me.

BLZBNTBNA0000012C is the specific error code I see.

    Thanks.
  • This is occurring due to an issue with a recent Desktop App update. You can safely ignore the warning if you use a hybrid laptop. (one with Optimus or Enduro tech). It should be getting resolved in an upcoming update. Unfortunately, I don't have a date as to when that will take place.

  • Hellbourne58,

Could you please post some information about your computer? You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool:

    Press Windows Key + R.
    Type DxDiag and press Enter.
In the DxDiag window, at the bottom, click Save All Information.
Name the file "dxdiag" and click Save. (note where it's been saved so you can find it)

Locate the Dxdiag.txt file just created and open it to copy and paste ALL of it's contents into your reply.
