    Problem:
I have tried to download the install files for the Pre-Download many times, and it does not seem to run its full duration.

I end up without all of the files needed to run setup, and it ends up with a watermarked cancel sign on top of the app for it. One time I was able to get setup to not have such a sign on it, but, when attempting to run, it says I do not have all of the data.

I am lost as to how to fix this as I have gone the obvious route of re-download and try again. The only possible explanation I can come up with is the possibility of interference from my screensaver, but I do not wish to attribute it to that. To the best of my knowledge my screensaver should not interfere with the download.

Edit: Inserted a missing word, changed Topic Title, and fixed some wording in the description of the problem all for clarity.
  • How are you connected to the internet? If you are wireless or connecting through a router, try bypassing it and directly connect to the modem.

    Bypassing the router
      1. Unplug the power to your modem.
      2. Follow the ethernet cable from the modem to the router. Unplug it from the router.
      3. Plug this end into your computer.
      4. Plug the power back into your modem and let it start up.
      5. Restart your computer.
      6. Test.

I'm not big on boasting, but you might have to take a victory lap.
  • Just to clarify, did the Blizzard Downloader download the Diablo III Setup.app and you are attempting to run it now?

  • If it has .part on any of the file names, this means the download of the files form the Blizzard installer was not 100% complete.

I downloaded the predownload, and noticed this as well. It may seem to get "stuck" at 99% but it's still gathering data, so when it's 100% installed, the downloader should auto close itself and open up the D3 Setup. Prior to it being 100% complete, the files will have .part next to them.

Just for clarity, you are saying that when the download is truly complete it will not only close launcher, but it will also launch the setup?

    Correct.

Are there files that are still downloading when the download launcher closes?

I'm not sure I understand this question. Are you asking if files/data are being downloaded when the launcher closes after it downloads the 7 GB+ files? If so, then no.

  • I have attempted multiple times and I am still receiving errors in the download. I use a wireless signal, not sure if that would make a difference in the download. Not sure what to do now

That will make a difference. Try plugging into the modem directly with a ethernet cable.

Also, make sure your Mac does not sleep when it is downloading.
