Mac-Issue: Hard Freeze when entering new game

  • I know this has probably been mentioned many times but my Mac has been freezing with 2.0. These freezes have required me to manually shut down my Mac, as I can’t even force-quit D3. I'm using a late model 2013 13' Macbook Pro. The freezes have been occurring when attempting to enter a game.

Devs – Please note that I haven’t played Diablo 3 in quite some time, and I’ve thinking about getting the expansion since I heard about 2.0. I decided to try out the new changes with 2.0, but after my experiences with the game the last few days, I’m seriously just thinking of uninstalling the game and passing on the expansion. For casual returning players, facing constant crashes and hard freezes are an extreme turn-off. As someone with a very tight schedule I don’t have time to spend trying to fix the issue on my own.

Thanks, I hope these issues are resolved soon. I’ve been a fan and supporter of D3, but I may have to pass...

Off Topic – I’m really enjoying Hearthstone, keep up the good work Blizz.
  • We're checking looking into this issue as well. When we have more information, or need addiitonal information, I'll post back with updates.
  • Can you tell me what exact steps you have done when this happens? We know that there is an issue where if you do the following:

      1. Log into Diablo III
      2. Select the icon for viewing the character profile
      3. Go back and press Resume
---> The game will hang, and eventually crash

Outside of this, we're having issues reproducing this. Posting what exact steps you do (i.e log in, then open X window, etc) take prior to the crash will help out.

Also, if you can post your system information, that would be great.

    Obtaining and Posting System Information

    1) Click on the Apple Menu while holding down the Option key and select System Profiler (10.6.8) / System Information (10.7 and later).

    2) Copy the information from the following sections and paste them into your post. Please copy in the following order: Hardware Overview, Graphics, and Software. Do not include any serial numbers, hardware UUIDs, or account/login names or information in your post.
Finally, if you have any specific applications running (Safari, Mail, etc), please post those as well.
