DiabloFans Says Farewell
It is with great sadness that I must announce the closure of DiabloFans. Our site has been a pillar of the Diablo community for many years, but due to the fading interest in current Diablo products and business realities for Curse, it is time for DiabloFans to say farewell.
On March 21st, DiabloFans will be transitioned into Archive Mode. Users will still be able to view content on the site while it is archived, but will be unable to create or edit any existing builds or posts on the site.
Personally, this news is quite surreal. I joined the DiabloFans team in late 2017 as the Community Manager and remained as such until shortly after BlizzCon 2018. During my time as Community Manager, I had the privilege of interacting with some of the most passionate fans of the Diablo franchise. You, the community, have been a constant inspiration with your amazing creativity and passion.
DiabloFans was a site that I used almost daily for many years prior to joining the team, and it was my primary source for finding new and interesting builds in Diablo 3. Without DiabloFans, there will be a great void for many of the other Diablo community sites to fill, but I have no doubt that they will do an excellent job.
I encourage our community to use d3planner to create and share builds in the same way you have used DiabloFans. For those who want to stay up to date and discuss the latest news regarding Diablo, I would suggest the Diablo Subreddit. Additionally, for those looking for more information on the game in general or a way to contribute to the community in a meaningful way, check out the Diablo wiki. Also, feel free to share other community sites in the comments before March 21, 2019!
Thank you for all of your support over the years, and may your future adventures in Sanctuary be filled with plentiful and glorious loot.
This really really sucks.... Thank you guys so much!
I migrated here awhile back because dii.net is just full of toxicity! Nothing is pleasant about that site. Fans fighting fans....
Then there's this site, yeah some negativity, but mostly people helping people. Builds, updates, news, your guy's lore write ups, just general all you need one-stop for Diablo. This is how a fan site should be, you set the standard pretty high. Need people for free on moderation? Hit me up! Let's continue keeping this site alive!
Thanks and thanks again. Been a daily trip for me and many others. Take care and the best of luck on your ventures forward.
Damn... rest in peace.
That's unfortunate... I came to this site quite often back in the day when Diablo was still new and relevant. Shame Blizzard has left one of their best IPs to collect dust.
I just want to thank you all for these last few years.
It has been fun and you will be missed.
Wish you luck!
We had a nice run.
Hmm, to be honest, I didn't expect this.
Thanks for all the time, builds and general help that I got over this site. Good luck with everything you plan to do next.
Please no... I love this website.
Seems like bad management and no vision for the future are common these days in the Diablo related world.
Are Diablo and aRPG fans DOOMED? Of course not - new and better platforms will appear, it's just a matter of time. In the meantime we can still enjoy the archive lol.
Thanks for all the hard work, and this site/forum will be sorely missed!
Hope to see all of you guys when Diablo 4 comes out
This site had more than 1 person operating it? little to no content and if anything did come it was late, stie has only been used for builds for years, no big loss
Man I remember browsing this site while at college in early 2000s to setup trades in D2. It was also one of the best sites for news and speculation on D3 too. So sad to see it go. I know you touched on "Curse" making a business decision but I can't help but feel like if dfans were still independently run, it would still be going. Many of my favorite old PC gaming sites got bought out and have gone to the wind. Especially ones purchased by IGN.
Sad news indeed. Thanks for all your work these years, good luck on future endeavors. Will miss you.
A very sad day! Thank you for all you've done for the community. You will be missed.
This is very sad and a sign of the times. Goodbye DiabloFans, thank you for everything.
Sad to see this site go, hopefully a good alternative shows up in its place.
Just signed up to say goodbye. Ive used the site for ages and lways found it helpful.
Where will I get my builds now?
It's sad indeed, this website always was a big part of what D3 community deserves. Good luck to all the staff.
Very sad to see diablofans.com closing down. I was also getting my Diablo info from this site.
I also made some builds here and I hope i've helped some people during this time.
Farewell. You will be missed!
