DiabloFans Says Farewell
It is with great sadness that I must announce the closure of DiabloFans. Our site has been a pillar of the Diablo community for many years, but due to the fading interest in current Diablo products and business realities for Curse, it is time for DiabloFans to say farewell.
On March 21st, DiabloFans will be transitioned into Archive Mode. Users will still be able to view content on the site while it is archived, but will be unable to create or edit any existing builds or posts on the site.
Personally, this news is quite surreal. I joined the DiabloFans team in late 2017 as the Community Manager and remained as such until shortly after BlizzCon 2018. During my time as Community Manager, I had the privilege of interacting with some of the most passionate fans of the Diablo franchise. You, the community, have been a constant inspiration with your amazing creativity and passion.
DiabloFans was a site that I used almost daily for many years prior to joining the team, and it was my primary source for finding new and interesting builds in Diablo 3. Without DiabloFans, there will be a great void for many of the other Diablo community sites to fill, but I have no doubt that they will do an excellent job.
I encourage our community to use d3planner to create and share builds in the same way you have used DiabloFans. For those who want to stay up to date and discuss the latest news regarding Diablo, I would suggest the Diablo Subreddit. Additionally, for those looking for more information on the game in general or a way to contribute to the community in a meaningful way, check out the Diablo wiki. Also, feel free to share other community sites in the comments before March 21, 2019!
Thank you for all of your support over the years, and may your future adventures in Sanctuary be filled with plentiful and glorious loot.
So sad.
Well fuck me.... in an overall bad week this is the shittiest news so far
Eversince vanilla when i knew squat untill i found out about dfans and rocked the permafreeze wiz up untill thisvery point i used to go here for everything diablo related.
Something tells me the death of dfans is a sign of the death of the diablo franchise and quite possibly the beginning of the end of blizz as we knew it (yeah not gonna say know there)
thank you for all the good fucken shit the past x years!
this sucks...i just created my account today
Thanks for the hard work. F*ck blizzard
You will be missed.
Thank you.
Its a sad sad day... thank you guys for all info and support to this game! i will miss this! gl on future adventures!
I will miss the builds on DiabloFans. It's the only Diablo site I check everyday even when I don't play D3.
Thank you.
So a new site will be made when diablo 4 gets released ?
I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully it'll be better though. Improvements were made to D3 but lets hope (for the love of this damn franchise and everyone who loves it) they make D4 great. Its just sad to see the mobile market being so saturated with games that are doing so well because people are spending money on gacha based games. Diablo Immortal is just another cash grab but if people get it, spend money on it, let's hope it funds D4 to be the best Diablo made.
I'm incredibly sorry to hear this as this community was my primary source for Diablo news as well. Good luck to you and the rest of the team in their future endeavors.
is this an out of season aprils fool joke?
I'm truly sorry to see you go,I've used this site for years, always checking in(in an increasingly vain hope lately) for the latest diablo news and to share in passion with the rest of the diablo community.
But there is no "news" and the community keeps shrinking, and we all know who is to blame...
I'll miss you all
R.I.P. DFans see you when D4 comes around
It's been a long time coming, unfortunately. Adieu.
(I am Sojourna, but I lost access to my account last year because of irreconcilable circumstances between Twitch and this website. Go figure.)
Sad news indeed. I stopped being a regular to this place years ago, but I still have fond memories of the community I interacted with here. You will be missed.
So sad, This site was so helpful to me for builds and advice. I hope in the future you can come back for the D4 or whatever it will be called. Thanks for all the D3 support. Good luck to you all!
RIP friends
That sucks... I played all 3 of the diablos years ago.. just got d3 for PlayStation and have an array of questions... I’ll prolly go back to blizzard.com and try to remember my old handle...
Good god...This is sad news. Been visiting at least once a day for news, builds and communication. I do appreciate all the effort and thank you for everything. Truly a sad day for any Diablo Fan out there. Farewell...and best of luck for your new projects.
