DiabloFans Says Farewell
It is with great sadness that I must announce the closure of DiabloFans. Our site has been a pillar of the Diablo community for many years, but due to the fading interest in current Diablo products and business realities for Curse, it is time for DiabloFans to say farewell.
On March 21st, DiabloFans will be transitioned into Archive Mode. Users will still be able to view content on the site while it is archived, but will be unable to create or edit any existing builds or posts on the site.
Personally, this news is quite surreal. I joined the DiabloFans team in late 2017 as the Community Manager and remained as such until shortly after BlizzCon 2018. During my time as Community Manager, I had the privilege of interacting with some of the most passionate fans of the Diablo franchise. You, the community, have been a constant inspiration with your amazing creativity and passion.
DiabloFans was a site that I used almost daily for many years prior to joining the team, and it was my primary source for finding new and interesting builds in Diablo 3. Without DiabloFans, there will be a great void for many of the other Diablo community sites to fill, but I have no doubt that they will do an excellent job.
I encourage our community to use d3planner to create and share builds in the same way you have used DiabloFans. For those who want to stay up to date and discuss the latest news regarding Diablo, I would suggest the Diablo Subreddit. Additionally, for those looking for more information on the game in general or a way to contribute to the community in a meaningful way, check out the Diablo wiki. Also, feel free to share other community sites in the comments before March 21, 2019!
Thank you for all of your support over the years, and may your future adventures in Sanctuary be filled with plentiful and glorious loot.
Stay a while and listen.
For a great evil has descended upon this very site. And we Nephilim has failed to repel it.
Alas as mount Areat fell so shall this holy site.
May you be remembered with the greatest of times.
Omg, tbh im pretty shocked, i love dfans and super sad to see it go. Big shoutout to all the Diablo community posting here an sharing cool builds over the year's and the awesome staff than ran it xxxxx
I wish you all guys good luck for the future.
Here's another letdown. With the closure of this site, another piece of my heart broke and another step forward to the death of this franchise has been made.
Noooo I just started seasons again with the end of S15 and now all of 16 and have really been enjoying the content here. It is sad that you guys are shutting down.
Thank you Diablofans for all that hard work maintaining the site, awesome builds.
Sad to see you go, but honestly this is Blizzard-Activision fault. I will never install diablo immortal on my phone, they can deal with asian markets all they like, they dead to me.
Yes this is a really sad day, i was so sad when i saw this, thank you so much everyone on the staff of Diablofans for all your hard work over the years and i wish you all the best for the future
i also want to thank the community for all the excellent builds that has been produced over the years you have all helped so many players and fans of the Diablo universe with tips and tricks to help them enjoy the game even more afterwards.
Join our club, Diablo Universe on Xbox One/ Nintendo Switch to stay with a 20yr old group that appreciates all things Diablo. With this site shutting down, you can stay in touch with veterans, stay up to date with the current builds and get help from the community. We will miss you Diablo Fans, but your fans will live on with us on Xbox and Nintendo.
Thats so sad to hear I visit this site so often, particularly for the build section. I just made a new site - diabloaddict.com - I know it will never come close to what this site has meant to all of its loyal fans - but maybe this can be a place, at least for the time being, to post builds, etc. [hope this does not come off as being in bad taste]. Msg me if youd like to help setting everything up.
Sad news. If only there was some sort of BETTER icy vein site I could use...
Best go to D3 website I used for 3 years. Sorry to see it go as it puts an exclamation point on the state of the game, thanks Bli$$ard.
really? well i kind of agree....i've been playing Diablo for years since D2....and I've never used this site or heard of it....still is sad. I just created an account to say this....say hello....and goodbye.... thanks for all your dedication!! nothing more to say....this is sad indeed.
sad news.. farewell diablofans, thank you for everything
wow, it was always nice to rant here. and no one is to blame for the lack of traffic except the makers of the franchise.
but anyway, this site goes to archive mode. no problem. when d4 is around the corner, the site can be reactivated i hope. let's wait until then.
for now, farewell and thanks for a good news source over the course of a strange relationship between customer and developer of a wildly flailing franchise.
While it's unfortunate that you will be closing your doors here. I can totally understand. I have been losing interest in Diablo games for sometime myself. The Diablo Immortal thing was just the final nail in the coffin. This site was a great resource and those that still play will miss this place. Thank you for all that you have given to the community. Hopefully we will meet again down the road.
have 6+ tabs open to this site every season for weeks and weeks... will miss it!
oh dear, a really sad day for all Diablo fans. So sorry to see you going. This site has provided the community with so much information and pleasure over the years - tbh i could see it coming. Shame on Blizzard for making Immortal and not D4, but I am sure this site will be back when D4 does indeed get announced, hopefully some time soon (Blizzcon 2019, who knows). Best of luck to all those who put so much time and effort into this great fan site.
Thank you Diablofans and all the people behind this project. I loved every single awesome build that I chased in the beginning of every season! Apreciate all your hard work maintaining this site for years. Best of luck for all you guys.
I stayed a while and listened till now.
Farewell
Nothing is Immortal.
all I gotta say is.... BUCK FLIZZARD!!
RIP. thanks for all the fish
