DiabloFans Says Farewell
It is with great sadness that I must announce the closure of DiabloFans. Our site has been a pillar of the Diablo community for many years, but due to the fading interest in current Diablo products and business realities for Curse, it is time for DiabloFans to say farewell.
On March 21st, DiabloFans will be transitioned into Archive Mode. Users will still be able to view content on the site while it is archived, but will be unable to create or edit any existing builds or posts on the site.
Personally, this news is quite surreal. I joined the DiabloFans team in late 2017 as the Community Manager and remained as such until shortly after BlizzCon 2018. During my time as Community Manager, I had the privilege of interacting with some of the most passionate fans of the Diablo franchise. You, the community, have been a constant inspiration with your amazing creativity and passion.
DiabloFans was a site that I used almost daily for many years prior to joining the team, and it was my primary source for finding new and interesting builds in Diablo 3. Without DiabloFans, there will be a great void for many of the other Diablo community sites to fill, but I have no doubt that they will do an excellent job.
I encourage our community to use d3planner to create and share builds in the same way you have used DiabloFans. For those who want to stay up to date and discuss the latest news regarding Diablo, I would suggest the Diablo Subreddit. Additionally, for those looking for more information on the game in general or a way to contribute to the community in a meaningful way, check out the Diablo wiki. Also, feel free to share other community sites in the comments before March 21, 2019!
Thank you for all of your support over the years, and may your future adventures in Sanctuary be filled with plentiful and glorious loot.
Agreed the memories were great!
Indeed sir indeed.
So you mean that a website about a dead game is going away? I'm shocked.
Farewell guys i will be missing this site thanks for everything! and goodluck with the rest and stay safe out there
The franchise is far from dead, might be in a slow state atm, and a lot of backlash for Diablo: Immortal hasn't helped much, but I have no doubt in my mind from all the things that I have read and studied, Diablo 4 is coming, and we will see an announcement soonish, most likely at E3 or Pax, with the current state, they
will not...can not wait until Blizzcon.Just hold your heads high, Diablo will have a bright future, I am sure of it.
Please don't go. It's a great website to come to from time to time to get updated builds and new on Diablo.
FeelsBadMan...
You are the best! Thanks for being there.
I guess they missed the part where Diablo 4 is in development and blizzarf hired Sebastian Stepien, creative director/writer for the witcher and cyberpunk to work on it.
:(. Sad, very sad.
Thanks much Dfans team for all your work here !!
If only Diablo 4 was announced at BlizzCon...
Little premature on that don't you think? Shutting down the site for what a year to relaunch it when they start announcing the new D4 that will be coming out within probably a year or two? Well I know ill be looking for another site that will be launching with the absence of this one and sticking to them when the next Diablo comes out.
Do you guys not have phones?
Sad to see you go dfans, it was a great time with you!
This makes me sad
Well I don't blame you, dead franchise from the beginning of D3, I wish that game was never release in the first place and just remade D2. The game was instantly dead to me once I saw no Assassin was available I mean seriously what the hell. Clearly Blizzard can't design ANYTHING fun these days. All suits no passion, pathetic LOSERS. I used this site for many years in my D2 days.. weird that I have to login to twitch now.
We all know D4 will be more of the same cancer with extremely limited builds and no customization plus they are focusing a mobile game for a PC franchise, clearly Diablo is going no where. Rest in peace , my beloved Diablo, I will remember you until my IRL death. Your deeds will be remembered.
Thanks Blizzard North, the true MVPs.
What a shame, this will be a hard hit to recover from for the Diablo community
I knew i'd happen.
i used this page for builds and diablo news, last two years i almost stopped visiting the site for obvious reasons...
still very disappointing announcement, for most of us diablo headed that way as well even if blizzard wants it to exist like it does in current state
This sucks. I didn't post much but relied on the site over the years. I hate to see a major content hub of the Diablo Universe disappear but I suppose you guys aren't hyped by the direction that the franchise is taking. Still hoping this is a horrible attempt at an April fool's joke. Thanks for the help and content updates over the years.
Syd
This is indeed sad news.
Thank you to all those who contributed. You've been a big help over the years.
