Monstrous' Armor Rack
With how many fun and unique builds for different end-game activities we can craft these days, it would be awesome if we could quick swap between builds on the go, wouldn't it? That's a very common request from players, and there doesn't seem to be a better time for that than now!
MVP and DFans mod Monstrous has tweeted a mockup of a feature he calls the Armor Rack. What do you think of the idea?
I took some time to mock up one of the most wanted features in#Diablo right now, a quick swap for items and skills.
Quin's GR 100 Support Monk
Quin's latest video guide for absolute high-end players is for a GR Support Monk focused on repositioning mobs and spawning health globes! If you're pushing for leaderboards, this might be the extra edge that you need to improve the power of your group. Check it out!
I think its a great idea its like in d2 when ur press a button to quick change to your alt weapons yeah i could see this would be a nice edition to d3 save you changing skills for a much quicker game but then again
Unusable on HC, sadly. Unless you're willing to lose several characters worth of items at once.
@Euphytose I think the idea would be to keep those items still in the stash, using up some of your space, and just have the armor rack be sort of a convenience (auto-equipping the new one and storing the previous items in the stash), rather than a way to store more items.
just the way i always imaged d3, ton of support classes and 1-2 DPS. /kappa
well if this feature will go live i'll come back to d3
Monstrous is one of the players that seems to consistently find quality of life issues and provide elegant solutions to them. Very well done!
This feature alone would bring back several old players.
It's no coincidence that we were talking about this same feature last night about getting the 24 master dungeon wings.
They were thinking, who would come back into the game, and create 1-2 new characters of each class just to gear up to 6 piece. Especially if you wanted to do this on seasonal characters....it would be near impossible if all character slots were filled.
There is no reason to split up character playtime within same class, for having bank space as your primary limitation.
Lets see if those the Blizzard dev folk are industrious and implement this, or following the lazy millennial office trend we have been seeing lately from other companies with released products!
Great idea, hopefully we can get something like this this year. A huge technical feat for sure (make sure nothing can be exploited - lost gear, duping, etc) and a large monetary concern (will probably triple/quadruple effective stash space per account).
This reminds me "Itemrack" add-on for WOW, and excellent idea. I hope Blizzard will implement this.
first they need to fix the lag issues and finish updating old legs
Hell no! They can continue that stuff on the side. I think the weapon rack idea is something that would be infinitely better asap. Over the few lag and weapon updates i can deal with that shit the way it is for now, I want this weapon rack more.
I love, love, love this idea of the weapon rack!!! and for HC, do people really change builds that often? If so, why cant the gear in the weapon rack not just be mailed back to the account? Seems like that would work perfect. You shouldn't lose something you aren't wearing. Blizzard get on this!!!!!!!!!!
Armor racks that change our gear, skills and the cube? I'm all in for that this season I had to make 2 witch doctors because I was tired of having to swap gear and skills. It's just stupid that I have to take up a character slot for just that but anyway great idea Blizzard make it happen!
I've talked with my diablo friends multiple times about how needed the armor rack is. I stated this week that if this feature isn't implemented by (or in) the next paid expansion I simply won't be buying it. The minutiae involved in switching builds is so tedious and unenjoyable that it is the primary detractor of enjoyment.
I was just thinking about this the other day, now that there's actually more than one build per class that's endgame viable (and in fact there's often numerous now) it would be nice to have this feature.
I would enjoy something like this and hope it is implemented, The problem I see is it could go against the reasoning they gave for putting such a high restriction on the extra tab space so it would have to still be tied into our stashes and I could see conflicts arising from that. I do hope I am wrong for this is needed more then ever now with Set Dungeons.
Armor Rack.. Ok. Skills? hell no, please let us have customization to do..
@Laerv I think it's good that there's sort of a baseline skillset there along with the items and gems for a certain spec. You can still change 1 or 2 runes around and be ready to move on, instead of having to change every single skill, rune and passive.
