Set Dungeon Changes
Barbarian - Wrath of the Wastes
- Rend 10 different enemies at once 5 times (up from 3 times).
Crusader - Armor of Akkhan
- Kill 150 (up from 100) enemies while imbued with Akarat's Champion.
- Kill 175 (up from 114) monsters without taking fatal damage.
Crusader - Roland's Legacy
- Hit 12 different enemies with a single Sweep Attack 7 times (up from 5 times).
Crusader - Thorns of the Invoker
- Get hit by 75 (down from 100) spears thrown by Blood and Moon Clan enemies.
Demon Hunter - Unhallowed Essence
- Never drop below 50% Discipline (up from to 0%).
Demon Hunter - Embodiment of the Marauder
- Kill 125 (up from 116) monsters without taking fatal damage.
Demon Hunter - Natalya's Vengeance
- Do not exhaust your Hatred (changed from "Do not take any damage").
- Maintain a Rain of Vengeance for 90 seconds (up from 60 seconds).
Demon Hunter - The Shadow's Mantle
- Chain consecutive bonus damage Impale hits on 20 different enemies (up from 15 consecutive enemies) 5 times.
- Slow 45 different enemies with your Shadow Power (changed from "Avoid all Arcane Damage").
Monk - Monkey King's Garb
- Kill 375 (down from 380) monsters without taking fatal damage.
Witch Doctor - Raiment of the Jade Harvester
- Harvest 15 (down from 25) different enemies simultaneously 10 times (up from 6 times).
- Kill 435 (up from 365) monsters without taking fatal damage.
Wizard - Firebird's Finery
- Set 20 (down from 45) enemies on fire within 3 seconds 6 times (up from 3 times).
- Hit 50 (changed from "Kill 20") different enemies with the Meteor that revives you.
Wizard - Tal Rasha's Elements
- Do not get bitten by a Rockworm. (changed from "Do not get hit by a single Exorcist").
Skill Changes
Barbarian
- Earthquake Cost: 25 Fury / Cooldown: 60 seconds / Shake the ground violently, dealing 4800% (up from 4200%) weapon damage as Fire over 8 seconds to all enemies within 18 yards.
- Molten Fury : Increase Earthquake's damage to 6000% (up from 5100%) weapon damage as Fire.
- Giant's Stride : 20 secondary tremors follow your movement and deal 300% (up from 200%) weapon damage as Fire each.
- The Mountain's Call : Remove the Fury cost and reduce the cooldown to 30 seconds (down from 50) seconds). / Earthquake's damage turns into Lightning.
- Avalanche Cooldown: 30 seconds / Cause a massive avalanche of rocks to fall on an area dealing 2400% (up from 1600%) weapon damage to all enemies caught in its path. / Cooldown is reduced by 1 second for every 25 Fury you spend.
- Glacier : Giant blocks of ice hit enemies for 2400% (up from 1600%) weapon damage as Cold and Freeze them.
- Snow-Capped Mountain : Cave-in from both sides pushes enemies together, dealing 2800% (up from 1800%) weapon damage as Cold and Slowing them by 60% for 3 seconds.
- Volcano : Chunks of molten lava are randomly launched at nearby enemies, dealing 6600% (up from 4400%) weapon damage as Fire over 5 seconds.
Demonhunter
- Multishot
- Full Broadside : Increase the damage of Multishot to 500% (up from 460%) weapon damage.
- Wind Chill : Enemies hit are Chilled and have 15% (up from 10%) increased chance to be Critically Hit for 3 seconds.
- Bolas Generate: 4 (up from 3) Hatred / Shoot out an explosive bola that wraps itself around the enemy. After 1 second, the bola explodes dealing 160% weapon damage as Fire to the enemy and an additional 110% weapon damage as Fire to all other enemies within 14 yards.
- Thunder Ball : Increase Hatred generated to 7 (up from 6).
- Entangling Shot Generate: 4 (up from 3) Hatred / Imbue an arrow with shadow energy that deals 200% weapon damage to the primary enemy and entangles up to 2 enemies, slowing their movement by 60% for 2 seconds. / When Entangling Shot hits an enemy, the Slow effect on all entangled enemies is refreshed.
- Justice is Served : Increase Hatred generated to 7 (up from 6). / Entangling Shot's damage turns into Fire.
- Grenade Generate: 4 (up from 3) Hatred / Throw a grenade that bounces and explodes for 160% weapon damage as Fire.
- Tinkerer : Increase Hatred generated to 7 (up from 6).
- Cluster Arrow Cost: 40 Hatred / Fire a cluster arrow that explodes for 650% (up from 550%) weapon damage as Fire into a series of 4 additional grenades that each explode for 250% (up from 220%) weapon damage as Fire.
- Loaded for Bear : Increase the damage of the explosion at the impact location to 850% (up from 770%) weapon damage as Fire.
- Shooting Stars : Instead of releasing grenades, release up to
2 (down from 3) rockets at nearby enemies that each deal 600% weapon damage as Physical.- Cluster Bombs : Launch a cluster through the air, dropping grenades in a straight line that each explode for 650% (up from 525%) weapon damage as Fire.
- Maelstrom : Instead of releasing grenades, release up to 3 (down from 5) rockets at nearby enemies that each deal 450% weapon damage as Cold. You gain 2% (up from 1%) Life per enemy hit.
- Hungering Arrow Generate: 4 (up from 3) Hatred / Fire a magically imbued arrow that seeks out enemies for 155% weapon damage and has a 35% chance to pierce through them.
- Serrated Arrow : Increase Hatred generated to 7 (up from 6). / Hungering Arrow's damage turns into Fire.
- Preparation
- Invigoration : Passive: Permanently increase maximum Discipline by 20 (up from 15).
- Vengeance Cooldown: 90 seconds / Turn into the physical embodiment of Vengeance for 20 seconds (up from 15 seconds). / *Side Guns: Gain 4 additional piercing shots for 60% weapon damage each on every attack. / *Homing Rockets: Shoot 2 (down from 4) rockets at nearby enemies for 80% (up from 40%) weapon damage each on every attack. / *Vengeance: Gain 40% increased damage.
Monk
- Fists of Thunder
- Static Charge : Fists of Thunder applies Static Charge to enemies hit for 6 seconds. Each time an enemy with Static Charge gets hit by you, there is a chance that every other enemy with Static Charge within 40 yards takes 40% (down from 180%)% weapon damage as Lightning.
- Epiphany
- Soothing Mist : Imbue yourself with water, causing your abilities to heal yourself and allies within 30 yards for 40232 Life. / Heal amount is increased by 10% (down from 25%) of your Health Globe Healing Bonus.
WitchDoctor
- Summon Zombie Dogs Cooldown: 45 seconds / Summon 3 Zombie Dogs from the depths to fight by your side. Each dog deals 120% (up from 30%) of your weapon damage as Physical per hit.
- Burning Dogs : Your Zombie Dogs burst into flames, burning nearby enemies for 80% (up from 20%) of your weapon damage as Fire every second.
- Rabid Dogs : Your Zombie Dogs gain an infectious bite that deals 120% (up from 30%) of your weapon damage as Poison over 3 seconds.
- Gargantuan Cooldown: 60 seconds / Summon a Gargantuan zombie to fight for you. The Gargantuan attacks for 450% (up from 100%) of your weapon damage as Physical.
- Restless Giant : When the Gargantuan encounters an elite enemy or is near 5 enemies, it enrages for 15 seconds gaining: / *20% movement speed / *35% attack speed / *200% Physical damage / This effect cannot occur more than once every 45 seconds (down from 120 seconds). Elite enemies include champions, rares, bosses, and other players.
- Humongoid : The Gargantuan gains the Cleave ability, allowing its attacks to hit multiple enemies for 585% (up from 130%) of your weapon damage as Cold.
- Big Stinker : The Gargantuan is surrounded by a poison cloud that deals 135% (up from 45%) weapon damage as Poison per second to nearby enemies.
Wizard
- Galvanizing Ward As long as you have not taken damage in the last 5 seconds you gain a protective shield that absorbs the next 60% (down from 70%) % of your Life in damage.
- Spectral Blade
- Flame Blades : Each enemy hit increases the damage of your Fire spells by 1%, up to a maximum of 30% (no maximum before), for 5 (down from 10) seconds.
Crusader
- Iron Maiden Your Thorns is increased by 50% (down from 100%).
Set Bonuses
We have information on new and reworked set bonuses. Read them below.
Tal Rasha's Elements
- 4 pieces: elemental attacks increase resistance to damage types by 25% (down from 100%) for 8 seconds.
- 6 pieces: Attacks increase your damage by 500% (up from 300%) for 8 seconds. At 4 stacks, each different elemental attack extends the duration by 2 seconds, up to a maximum of 8 seconds (reworked to extend duration after max stacks).
Zunimassa's Haunt
- 6 pieces: Enemies hit by your Mana spenders take 800% (up from 275%) more damage from your pets for 4 seconds.
Shadow's Mantle
- 2 pieces: While equipped with a melee weapon, all damage is increased by 600% (down from 1000%).
Might of the Earth
- 2 pieces: Reduce the cooldown of Earthquake, Avalanche, Leap, and Ground Stomp by 1 second for every 30 Fury (down from 40) you spend with an attack.
- 6 pieces: Increase the damage of Seismic Slam (added) by 800%.
Thorns of the Invoker
- 2 pieces: Each time you hit an enemy with Punish, Slash, or block an attack your Thorns is increased by 25% (down from 50%) for 2 seconds.
- 4 pieces: You take 50% less damage for 20 seconds (up from 8) after casting Bombardment.
Legacy of Raekor
- 4 pieces: Furious Charge gains the effect of every rune and deals 300% (down from 400%) increased damage.
Monkey King's Garb
- 2 pieces: Your damage taken is reduced by 50% while Sweeping Wind is active (reworked from 50% for every stack of Sweeping Wing).
- 6 pieces: Lashing Tail Kick, Tempest Rush, and Wave of Light consume a stack of Sweeping Wind to deal 1500% (up from 1000%) increased damage.
Raiment of the Jade Harvester
- 2 pieces: When Haunt lands on an enemy already affected by Haunt, it instantly deals 60 (down from 120) seconds worth of Haunt damage.
Embodiment of the Marauder
- 4 pieces: Sentries deal 300% (up from 200%) increased damage and cast Elemental Arrow, Chakram, Impale, Multishot, and Cluster Arrow when you do.
- 6 pieces: Skills deal 600% (up from 400%) increased damage for every active Sentry.
Firebird's Finery
- 6 pieces: Your damage is increased by 25% (down from 100%) for each enemy that is burning. Elites that are burning increase your damage by 250% (down from 1000%).
Raiment of a Thousand Storms
- 2 pieces: Spirit Generators have 100% (down from 300%) increased damage.
Roland's Legacy
- 4 pieces: Increase the damage of Shield Bash and Sweep Attack by 600% (up from 500%).

Cain's Destiny
- 3 pieces: 5% (down from 50%) bonus experience at level 70.
Unhallowed Essence
- 4 pieces: Gain 60% (up from 50%) damage reduction and deal 60% (up from 50%) increased damage for 5 seconds if no enemy is within 10 yards of you.
- 6 pieces: Your generators, Multishot, and Vengeance deal 20% (up from 15%) increased damage for every point of Discipline you have.
Spirit of Arachyr
- 4 pieces: While Toad of Hugeness is active, you take 50% (up from 40%) reduced damage.
- 6 pieces: The damage of your creature skills is increased by 1200% (up from 800%)
Seeker of the Light
- 6 pieces: Increase the damage of Blessed Hammer by 1250% (up from 750%).
Item Powers

- Three Hundreth Spear: Increase the damage of Weapon Throw and Ancient Spear by 45 - 60%. (down from 75-100%)
- Dawn: Reduce the cooldown of Vengeance by 50 - 65%. (up from 45-60%)
- Blade of the Warlord: Bash consumes up to 40 Fury to deal up to 400 - 500% increased damage. (down from 500-600%)
- Fragment of Destiny: Spectral Blade attacks 50% faster and deals 150 - 200% increased damage. (added)
- Ashnagarr’s Blood Bracer: Increases the potency of your shields by 75 - 100%. (changed to a Bracer)
- Aquila Cuirass: While above 90 - 95% (up from 75-85%) primary resource, all damage taken is reduced by 50%.
- Heart of Iron: Gain Thorns equal to 250 - 300% of your Vitality. (down from 400-500%)
- Justice Lantern: Gain damage reduction equal to 45 - 55% (down from 50-65%) of your Block Chance.
- Oculus Ring: Damage is increased by 70 - 85% (up from 35-40%) while standing in the area.
- Lord Greenstone's Fan: Every second, gain 80 - 100% (down from 250-300%) increased damage for your next Fan of Knives.
- The Twisted Sword: Energy Twister damage is increased by 125 - 150% (up from 75-100%) for each Energy Twister you have out.
- Deathwish: While channeling Arcane Torrent, Disintegrate, or Ray of Frost, all damage is increased by 30 - 35% (down from 75-100%).
- Fazula’s Improbable Chain: You automatically start with 40 - 50 (up from 15-20) Archon stacks when entering Archon form.
- Zoey's Secret: You take 8-9% (up from 6-7%) less damage for every Companion you have active.
- Skular's Salvation: When your Boulder Toss hits 5 or fewer enemies, the damage is increased by 120 - 150%. (down from 150-200%)
- Lakumba’s Ornament: Reduce all damage taken by 6% (up from 5%) for each stack of Soul Harvest you have.
- Bracer of Fury: Heaven's Fury deals 150 - 200% (down from 300-400%) increased damage to enemies that are Blinded, Immobilized, or Stunned.
- Akkhan’s Leniency: Each enemy hit by your Blessed Shield increases the damage of your Blessed Shield by 15 - 20% (down from 25-30%) for 3 seconds.
- Fortress Ballista: Attacks grant you an absorb shield for 2-3% (down from 4-5%) of your maximum Life.
- Etched Sigil: Your Arcane Torrent, Disintegrate, and Ray of Frost also cast one of your (reworded) other damaging Arcane Power Spenders every second.
- Orb of Infinite Depth: Each time you hit an enemy with Explosive Blast your damage is increased by 4 - 5% and your damage reduction is increased by 15% for 6 seconds. This effect can stack up to 4 times. (new!)
- Boyarsky's Chip: Adds 16000 (down from 30000) Thorns.
These patch notes better be wrong. Not only is R6 not getting any buffs (unlike every other set which is getting big ones, especially in terms of toughness), but now they even nerf it? What? Also wtf is with the nerf to tal set? It's only good defensive part was that yes, you take massive damage from poison and physical but at least elemental is pretty ok. Now you take massive damage from elemental too. There have to be pieces missing in here, some parts make no sense.
If you want to play wizard, blizzard tell you to use DMO or TR. Always with that false sense of choice...

It's not down, it's a rework, before each stack would give you 100% increased resistance but only for the damage type of the stack, so 100% resistance to 4 damage types, now you gain 25% resistance per stack to all damage types, which means 100% resistance to all damage types. So it's an up after all.
Are you guys sure about the rolls? They really want to make EB worth it giving you 20% increased damage when some items have 300% damage multipliers? It seems to me that Blizzard want us to use EB only to buff other skills, since it also give us some survivability, which is pretty sad since it's one of the coolest Wizard abilities, but we've already saw this happening with Meteor.
About Deathwish, ok, they want to nerf Firebird's then do it, but nerfing one of the coolest items of the patch is really sad. Wizards waited for a channeling build since vanilla, when they gave us one they kill it. But, as it's really nerfed now, they should make it work with Archon too, to replace Furnace on the cube, it would be a 35% damage multiplier all time against a 50% increased elite damage.

you can use Delsere or TR for a 2000% dmg boost to EB. and that 20% seems to be another multiplier. so a 2400% multiplier with this and the set alone. Obviously it's interesting (and to me always was) to mix in arcane orbit, especially with the recent buffs and complementary items. But also this needs to be tested... we always need to Keep in mind that we have only 13 + 3 item Slots and 6 active skills
the damage reduction however is really needed. so we can mess around with either F/R rings or maybe even convention/unity for more toughness (oviously halo in cube and APD either cube or maybe the new shield bracers, too when fitting in some shield skills / passives). Oh well this is already getting to deep into it. but yes, i think this is great not only for EB/Woh builds in general but also for EB being one of the main damage dealers in some specific setup.
AO has the 2000% from Delsere, 300% (or 200%? Can't remember, lol) from Triumvirate, which is multiplicative, 2x explosion, which is double explosion damage + % skill on the wand + the ability to use F/R. So no, 20% multiplicative is not enough to make it worth it. They are bounding us to use EB as a utility skill, not as a damage dealer one. Ok, the base damage from them is not the same, but EB damage is not that high either, so I hope they changed it a little bit and it wasn't datamined.
dude, arcane orbit is a pretty bad skill itself (265 weapon dmg?). EB can use flash with 3 sec cd 9xx% weapon dmg and scales with cdr. Woh triggers 3 additional explosions, that's 300% increased dmg. don't see why it should be worse than arcane orbit. AO is getting a 60% skillbonus which makes it decent and 100% increased dmg + triumvirate, BUT this all takes an additional precious item slot (!!!), but obviously EB itself got more dmg.
also i like that they are trying to make builds work that NOT only relying on 1 dmg skill. And this is a step in the right direction. thinking about EB + AO, EB + spectral with the buffed fragment wand, EB + AO + primary skill ?!? as i said before I think this is great for multiple options. I only hope that it can reach as high as 2-3 griftlevels of the top wizard specs next season, then I'm happy
Arcane Orbit is not the only Arcane Orb (OB) rune, Obliteration for example deals 700% weapon damage and 60% skill bonus is multiplicative, but additive with other skill bonus, elemental bonus, etc, but still multiplicative with the base damage. EB has Wand of Woh which is 4 EB but Arcane Orb has the new wand which is 2 AO + 300% from Triumvirate, the math is pretty clear. EB will be an utility skill unless they buff the item as the PTR goes or buff EB base damage a little more.
And of course, we should not forget that AO doesn't have a cooldown, EB does.
they over tuned the sets and everyone got use to them. they were way beyond what a set should be with inflated numbers and we thought it was ok, they knew all along it was going to be pulled back and now the masses weep tears or foul play and deceit? I dont blame them for normalizing the sets.

I think some of the people here are missing the point - the update to sets is not meant to make them more powerful than what's currently in the game. Power creep is inevitable via paragon (and now Caldesann's Despair cube recipe) - making sets even stronger will only make the problem worse.

The rest is completely justified. Stop saying a class will be "useless" or "unplayable" because it went "batshit overpowered" to "normal".
I don't see why people are getting bent out of shape. It's the PTR, they change stuff all the time to gather data on what the final builds will be.
People need to chill and wait until the patch is actually out before they yell "RIP <insert my favorite class here>".
Waiting ever so patiently for the Monk changes that are ALWAYS late, and have consistently been behind the other classes changes every PTR by a week or so for some odd reason, to make a judgement call.
I get why the nerf to Raiment, atleast not fully until patch notes arrive, I just don't get why it hasn't gotten any attention besides the nerf prior to....
