Technical Patch 2.3.0b
A technical patch will go live next Tuesday to prepare the Diablo client to receive Patch 2.4. There are no balance or gameplay changes, and no new content. Read the blue post below.

If you have participated in our most recent PTR phase, you may remember that before patch 2.4.0 was available for testing, there was a small technical patch called 2.3.0b. Well, the time has come to launch this smaller patch on the live client.
On Tuesday, December 8, we'll be pushing out 2.3.0b to the live client. This patch has absolutely no gameplay, balancing, or content impact. Your in-game experience before and after this patch will be identical.
So what does 2.3.0b do? It prepares us to launch Patch 2.4.0! We don't have a more specific date to share yet for the launch of 2.4.0, but if you haven't been participating in the PTR, you can test out all the new content and changes right now.
Long story short, if you see your client update on Tuesday, keep calm and continue Rifting! It's not time for 2.4.0 just yet.

Posted Dec 8, 2015So it seems that the announcement of 2.3.0b was just so we didn't go bananas yelling the patch is out, the patch is out, otherwise, for most of us, the actual even alone means nothing.

if they're preparing the live version to receive Patch 2.4, maybe their planned released date is not late January / early February. Pure speculation though, I could be wrong...

Posted Dec 8, 2015I havent payed much attention to the PTR, but for the first time im torn between what class to play in the next season. So many new items that opens for creative builds. At first I was 100% on a melee DH, then i saw the locust WD, then the new items for wizard that interact with arcane orb etc.
I feel like they knock it out of the park with this patch. Im sure there will as always be a few builds that trumps the rest, but to me it seems like there will be alot more to choose from if you dont play the tryhard grift-pushing style.

Posted Dec 8, 2015releasing 2.4 early with lots of time before season would't be bad idea, i just hope next season is balanced much better, but from looks of it they still need to work on witch doctor.

Posted Dec 8, 2015Mentioned at BlizzCon that S4 ending 'late December' (date unknown) and that there'd be a 'slightly longer break' between seasons - 2 weeks is a likely time frame. There also has to be a 2 week official 'season ending' announcement, which has not come yet. Highly unlikely you'll see the patch before next year, as employees are on vacation and not there to troubleshoot any massive problems.

Posted Dec 9, 2015I was hoping it would improve the game regarding lag. Is it just me who struggles with this in pub games? It seems fine when I play with friends located in Norway.
