End of First Era

Nevalistis made a post talking about the end of the first Era, which will coincide with the end of the 1st Season. We already knew the earliest that could happen, Tuesday - February 3. It was also mentioned that while Era 2 will begin immediately after the end of Era 1, Season 2 will begin a while after the end of Season 1. Read below.

In Diablo III, an “Era” refers to a specific period of time in which non-Seasonal leaderboards are active. At the end of an Era, all current non-Seasonal leaderboard standings will be wiped and players will be unable to attain new leaderboard ranks until a new Era begins. Similar to Seasons, players will be able to view previous rankings in-game and as well as on our website.

Our first Era will be ending alongside our first Season. We currently anticipate the earliest date for the end of Era 1 (and Season 1) to be Tuesday, February 3. Era 2 will begin immediately after the end of Era 1, while Season 2 will begin sometime after the end of Season 1.

At the end of Season 1, all heroes created during the Season will become non-Seasonal and will be immediately able to compete on the Era 2 leaderboards. For more information on the end of the Season and upcoming Season rollover, click here.

Thank you for participating in our first Era! We look forward to seeing you in Sanctuary.

Live and Upcoming PC Hotfixes

Two hotfixes were recently deployed to the servers: one to solve issues with clans and communities, and the other meant to fix a bug with the achievement "You're not the boss of me", which was not being granted even after killing all bosses. Also mind how the Conduit Pylon will have its damage "dramatically increased" in a future hotfix. Check it out!

These hotfixes should not require you to download a new patch. Some of the hotfixes below will go live the moment they are implemented while others may require restarting the game to go into effect. Please keep in mind that some issues cannot be addressed without a client-side patch. Also note that changes to certain abilities will not be reflected in its tooltip until a patch is issued.

Last updated January 16, 2015. Hotfixes are denoted by the date they were applied to live servers.
Previous Hotfixes: [2.1.0] [2.1.1]

[UPCOMING HOTFIXES]
Rifts:
  • Dramatically increasing the damage of the Conduit Pylon in both Nephalem and Greater Rifts
  • These changes should result in Conduit feeling more in line with strong pylons like Power and Channeling without trivializing Rift Guardians
[LIVE HOTFIXES]
Achievements:
  • Resolving an issue where players who have killed all the bosses except Lord of Bells prior to Patch 2.1.2 are unable to gain the achievement "You're not the Boss of Me" (1/16) (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Clan Hotfix
Hey everyone, we just implemented a fix that should clear up recent issues with Clan and Community functionality. Please let us know if these issues persist. Thanks! (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Console Hotfixes

There were quite a few hotfixes deployed to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game as well, to solve issues with Rifts, Items and other specific features. Check all the changes below.

With the release of patch 2.1.2 on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, we also deployed several hotfixes to address the following issues:

Nephalem Rifts
  • Resolved an issue causing Nepahlem Rift levels using the Abattoir tile set to roll without an entrance or exit.
  • Resolved an issue that was causing Treasure Goblins to spawn in Greater Rifts.
Items
  • Resolved an issue causing the Ice Armor buff to drop off of Wizards when performing actions such as looting items, using waypoints, or interacting with NPCs with the Halo of Arlyse legendary ring equipped.
  • Resolved an issue causing the legendary items The Crudest Boots, The Swami, and the Madstone to have no name in certain localized versions of Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition.
  • Resolved an issue causing the proc from the legendary sword Sever to instantly kill monsters afflicted with long-duration Damage-over-time effects.
Please note that since these changes were deployed as a console hotfix as opposed to a full client patch, there are some key differences of which players should be aware.

Parental Controls:
PlayStation 4 users who are Parentally Restricted will not receive these hotfixes. In order to modify Parental Control settings for the PS4 console, please refer to Sony's Support Sites:

PS4:

New Gaming Sessions:
On the PS4 and Xbox One, users may be required to play online* in order for the hotfix to be saved between gaming sessions. Ultimate Evil Edition games created on one of these consoles while offline may not have these hotfixes enabled.

On the PS4, users will only need to download and install the hotfix file once while signed into their Playstation Network account. After the hotfix file has been downloaded and installed, no additional steps will be required. The hotfix will remain active even if subsequent games are created offline.

*It is important to note that this is not a change to Ultimate Evil Edition’s optional offline play mode. Ultimate Evil Edition games created on Xbox One which were previously hotfixed, but are no longer connected online can still be played as normal, but without the hotfix change.

Users on both platforms must be signed into their respective PlayStation Network or Xbox Live accounts to be eligible for hotfixes (PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions are not required, however). The hotfixes will automatically download in the background when you progress to Ultimate Evil Edition’s Main Menu.

1~ Minute T6 Rift

Daniel Fodor uploaded a video with an impressive feat - he managed to finish a T6 Nephalem Rift in 1 minute and 11 seconds with his group. While he was arguably a bit lucky with the mob density, it doesn't detract from his spot on character control and very nimble Monk. He also uploaded another video where he links his profile and the build used. Check them out!
