Have you ever wondered how Legendary powers are designed in Diablo III? Or dreamed of collaborating with our developers to create your own? Then our BlizzCon Legendary Workshop may be just the adventure for you.

What’s The Legendary Workshop?

During the "Evolving Reaper of Souls" panel at BlizzCon this year, developers Josh Mosqueira, Kevin Martens, and Travis Day will be analyzing how the team's loot design philosophies have changed over time and sharing a sneak peak of some upcoming items in development. In addition to this retrospective, we will also be hosting a Legendary Workshop on the side. As part of this activity, we will be inviting a few lucky BlizzCon attendees to join developers Julian Love, John Yang, and Roger Hughston on stage to design a brand new Legendary power. Together, they will review ideas submitted in advance by you, our community, as well brainstorm new ideas on the spot!

Sounds Cool! How Can I Participate?

Submitting an idea for the Legendary Workshop is easy! Here's how the process will work:
  • We'll begin accepting submissions on Friday, November 7 at 7:00 a.m. PST (10:00 a.m. EST).
  • At that time, you can submit your idea one of three ways:
    • On the official Diablo III forums, in our dedicated thread.
    • On Twitter, using the #LegendaryWorkshop hashtag.
    • At the Community Corner, located between Halls B and C of the Anaheim Convention Center.
  • You will have until Saturday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. PST (2:00 p.m. EST) to submit your ideas.
Ideas submitted before or after the provided times, or using a method not described above, will not be considered.

Where Do I Sign Up for the On-Stage Workshop?

If you're interested in being an on-stage participant and are attending BlizzCon 2014, please visit the Community Corner (higlighted below) for more information. Participants will be selected at the event via random drawing.

Blizzcon Tristram’s Got Talent

Blizzcon will also feature a voice acting contest with the judges being the voices of Covetus Shen, Kormac and the female Crusader.

Think you have the voice acting chops to play the Jeweler, the Templar, or the female Crusader from Diablo III? This is your chance to find out! If you’re attending BlizzCon 2014 in person, come on down to the Voice Actors Stage on Friday, November 7 from 4 p.m.–7 p.m. and test your vocal skills in front of three of Tristram’s most renowned judges: James Hong (voice of Covetous Shen), Dominic Keating (voice of Kormac, the Templar follower), and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (voice of the female Crusader).

From 4 p.m.–5:30 p.m., audience members will have a chance to voice their favorite Diablo characters onstage and try to impress Tristram’s toughest critics. Scores will be tallied, and when the last Barbarian war cry has been uttered, we’ll crown Tristram’s first ever Top Voice Talent!

A fun meet-and-greet and autograph session with the judges will immediately follow from 5:30 p.m.–7 p.m., so be sure to stick around.

More Voice Actor Stage Activities for BlizzCon Attendees

Those traveling to BlizzCon might also want to check out some of the other events occurring at the Voice Actor Stage, located between Hall A and Hall B:

World of Warcraft: Voices of Draenor
Friday, 12 p.m.–1:30 p.m.

Orc legends. Draenei champions. Horde and Alliance heroes. Listen to the voices behind Warlords of Draenor discuss their characters and roles in the upcoming expansion.

Heroes of the Storm Character Mash-up
Saturday, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Stay a while and listen! You are not prepared for the mayhem that will ensue when the voices of StarCraft, Warcraft, and Diablo collide. Have we never really done something like this before? Hell, it’s about time!

Making Monsters
Saturday, 3 p.m.–4:30 p.m.

Talk shop with some of the most talented creature actors in any universe. Learn the tricks of the grunting, growling, and guttural-screeching trade—and then let loose a few monstrous roars of your own—in this fun, interactive session.

Autograph sessions follow each of these events. (Note that events occurring at the Voice Actor Stage are only available to those attending BlizzCon in person.) For more information, check out the complete BlizzCon schedule for Friday and Saturday.
