More Veiled Crystals and Stormshield Update
The hotfix to increase the amount of rare materials dropped by monsters has gone live, and players have a decreased shortage of Veiled Crystals now. Also, on a somewhat similar subject, Stormshield's affix display bug was fixed with Patch 2.1.1, and it should be dropping normally now.

Stampede 2.1.1 Guide
The Crusader Stampede build should be no strange to most hardcore Diablo 3 players by now. Deadset has put together a very complete video guide on the subject matter, with quite a few comments on the mechanics of the skill, what can reduce its effectiveness and other important things to keep in mind while playing this build.
While we have featured a similar video in previous news, this particular video has a more organized formatting and some unusual tips, a useful source for anyone looking to start a Crusader or just learning a bit more about the build. Watch it below!
And while we are at it, we have an interesting post made by Mannercookie, another expert Crusader player, on the video - talking about how he believes the build can be optimized even further!
Hi Deadset,
Nice video, and here's a few things I would like to add.
Despite what the masses use, Gogok is not the best choice of gem for this build imo. I personally use both banes + pain when I run this inside grifts. 35% damage during entire rift beats out a small APS buff when pain enhancer already provides extreme APS buffs, if you time properly you will also have 35% buff majority of the RG fight and 15% the rest which also beat out 15% AIS (only like .8 APS).
Positioning is key and it's very important to keep enemies within 20 yards when you are in combat to take full advantage of pain enhancer's buffs which are much stronger than gogok's 15% APS. You do not need the CDR bonuses if you maintain 56, you also do not need to run long arm if you manage your wrath properly and gear properly. The fear rune on provoke is absolutely the best if you learn to control the range and use of it.
This is a very skillful build to play if you are trying to maximize it's DPS potential, simply spamming the skill off-screen into masses of mobs is not optimal play-style if you are trying to achieve good timing.
I'm to lazy to take the time and track more then 20 runs but immediately noticed the lack of reusable drops and am hopeful that the arcane dust will in the long run average out to 10 or more. It will be nice to be able to pick one or the other and not everything, requiring 1-3 trips to town to salvage each run
should read 0.08 APS, and 15% AIS.
minor details though
Sup Mannercookie!,
1st i would like to say, I WISH positioning would be the problem with Stampede. We all know how frustrating hitting the wall is, Literally xD
2nd, I have couple of claims on behalf of Gogok.
AS increase DOES affects damage due the fact wrath is never the issue with Valor-UF, grants better control (higher AS higher chances to stun per casting intervals), help getting edge for CDR lacks( perma AC) and beyond- lowering CDs of valor and defensive skills like Iron Skin or even my favorite Condemn.
Personally, it allows me to drop CDR on my phalanx shield in behalf of Phalanx damage to cover up the remaining CDR for perma AC. God(and Blizzard) knows how time i've been spending getting the perfect shield with: STR, 10CHC, 8CDR 15% phalanx damage.
Furthermore, i'm still checking it out and testing it but i think Gogok has great synergy between Miriane and pain enhancer. What i'm trying to imply is this: there is a possibility that having both pure 'DPS' gems is not far behind double banes that are complete incidentals based. i carefully saying this because i still haven't got enough tests due RNGness of grifts yet i managed to pass my personal Grift 'wall.
In addition, i believe other runes should be valid for usage but Blizzard need to fix/tweak them (mainly Shield Charge).
In conclusion, i'm strongly believe there is not coherent answer to what gem combo are the best. In fact it close to impossible to check this for obvious variant reasons(gear, environment, type of elites/champs and bosses).
Actually, you linked the wrong Heroes of the Storm and WoW pages as well.
The editor has also been consistently bugging out and deleting entire posts when I try to save a draft, so I'm currently saving drafts manually every couple minutes. It might have something to do with that, I add the links, save the changes to the draft and they are not applied. Either way, sorry for the inconvenience.
Fun fact: the same thing just happened while trying to post this reply. The post-editor went from HTML to BB without me changing anything, and broke my post 2 times
