RoS Among 2014's Most Anticipated Games
Diablo 3's expansion Reaper of Souls was listed among the most anticipated games of 2014 by Gaming Trend. The site's reviewer is looking forward to the PS4 version, but he is finding the game pretty promising as it is anyway. Here is the excerpt regarding D3: RoS:
I declared Diablo III the couch co-op king, and we have the first expansion for that universe coming up very soon. While there hasn't been an announcement of dates for the PlayStation 4 version of the game, it's rumored that it'll be day and date or shortly thereafter with the PC version. This expansion also delivers a new loot system, the welcome death of the auction house, and many more improvements. Blizzard is pulling out all the stops, and Reaper of Souls looks ready to deliver.

I understand that in order to transmogrify an item into a legendary visual, you must first identify the legendary item. So my question is: If i find a legendary item in vanilla, and wait for ROS to come out to identify it, will I get the transmog for it? If anyone can shed some light or if a mod knows I would appreciate the feedback. That's a good question, and something that has been asked a few times. However, you should not wait to identify a Legendary for that purpose. None of the items you find prior to Reaper of Souls will unlock their visual customization for Transmogrification, even if you wait till after the expansion launches to identify them. Vaneras On Constructive And Destructive Feedback
ok and what about the failure of Demon hunter? no 1 streamer is giving feedback about this class because nobody wants to play a weak and a fail class. Please can you make a real DEMON HUNTER and not a chicken hunter? This is a great example of how not to post feedback, as there is nothing I can say to this that will lead to a fruitful discussion. If you want us to take your concerns seriously, please try to post them in a constructive manner instead of making sweeping statements. For an example, if you think Demon Hunters are underperforming in the Reaper of Souls beta, try to post some examples that help illustrate why you think that way. If you have already reached the conclusion that Demon Hunters are lacklustre, then try to post some data that supports your reasoning.
Posts with such examples and data often lead to really great feedback and questions that we can forward to the developers for them to look at.
@Vaneras please answer about the actual demon hunter state.Rest assured that I will post answers and feedback whenever I am able, but please keep in mind that any new information I get on Demon Hunters will likely be posted as a reply to more objective posts.
Thanks Vaneras for commenting on my video, I will be out of country for a week and when I come back I will find some more time to make a more detail post and maybe a better video. No worries. Look forward to seeing your future feedback when you return. :-)
I don't know much about DH so I won't be able to say much about this class, but as far as I could tell from the game play of my friends and people on streams, DH is by all means not weak in RoS. A lot of skills have been buffed and with the right legendary, it's hard to imagine they will be weak in RoS. If any of you are DH playing RoS, please comments on this.I second this request :-) (Blue Tracker/ Official Forums)
MannerCookie's RoS Itemization Introduction
MannerCookie put together the first of his 2 parts of RoS Itemization thoughts. He talks about what kind of 60 level legendary items have value in RoS using a valuation system he made to simplify things for people who have yet to play the beta.
I've been away for awhile and haven't kept up the best with all the new info and whatnot. So, am I reading it right that in order to Transmogrify something, you will need to find it in RoS? Which means none of the legendary stuff I have currently will work unless I find it again somehow during RoS? I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I'm staying positive about RoS and it's release. Hopefully it doesn't become a huge flop.
Breaking news: RoS is on an arbitrary list picked by an internet wannabe! Made it to top 25!
To be fair you have to play through the same shitty story on PoE 3x... so my guess it's that he is simply a d3 hate band wagon douche.
That being said, what suddenly convinces you that it's a "children's game"? You could only play Diablo 3 endlessly when the Auction House was up? The auction house simply wasn't a formula that worked well for the Diablo universe. They tried it, and it didn't work. You know why? A few thousand people could heavily exploit it and control the economy. People were never farming for gear, they were just BUYING it. Most people wouldn't be farming true gear worth anything unless they were powerhouses (using builds everyone deems #1 on the internet) and gear they bought out themselves. There was zero trading.
So, a useless grind? What about finding legendaries that have theirvalue increased simply because there aren't 100 readily available at a click if you had the gold they were asking for? Oh, boohoo, you actually have to find people with that item and trade with them now. Dude, if you ever played D2, that's what it was all about; trading. I think Blizzard is listening to their community because they decided to take down that shitty auction house and give another attempt at trading.
And yes, the legendaries may be BoA, but you know what...? That's a good thing. Because now, when you find that shiny new item, you have to decide what it's really worth to you. Are you going to bank a profit off that sucker, or do you deserve to wield it?
Have a positive attitude about this people. At least the game is going in the right direction I too was a D2 finatic 10 years ago and support the old game system, but realize there is room for new. While I agree it's not perfect and you can't compare the 2 games, I am very much looking forward to the PS4 release of Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil.
On a side note, so glad to know the site reviewer is anticipating the PS4 version! I am anxious to hear more information about it >_<
I was bothered more by all the umms and mispronunciation of Mempo. It's not Memfo ffs. As for all the doomsayers about how ROS will be shit and whatnot, play the damn game and find out and give some constructive criticism or shut the hell up.
It's almost funny to watch all the people crying over how RoS is the end of D3. Why, cause your beloved AH is going away? Because you will actually have to work for your rewards instead of getting instant gratification from an AH interface? So sad. If the AH didn't kill D3, which for many it did, then RoS most certainly won't. For the "lol no endgame" whiners, go play MMO's. Diablo games never had a proper endgame and lo and behold, they never needed one. People were playing D2 (me included) online and on singleplayer 11 years after the game came out. Build a solid base game and you need no endgame. The issue is D3's system is not very condusive to replayability.
What I'm worried about the most is the fact that Blizz will be so focused on the new features they will overlook the stuff we've been complaining about since the release. The ridiculous character hitboxes (especially against ranged attacks) which make the controls lack a lot of precision, the bugged firewall grates that almost instakill you in Act 1 and 3 without being visible, the nonsensical enrages that serve as pointless gear checks which have no place in a game based on randomness (save that for WoW), the bugged pathing on mobility skills like charge or teleport (you can fucking teleport through a wall no problem but get stuck on any corner in the game), the vortex bullshit... Somehow I doubt that the influx of new features will make these problems any less prevalent or annoying.
People play D2 because there are a lot of build variety. You bore with WW barb? Try double swing. You bore with that? Try singing barb (where you equip with 2 wizardspike. Yeap, damage does not matter in this build). Ohh, did I tell you you can actually have 6 skills? D2 is much more complex and take into weapon speed, elemental damage and synergy into consider. You think your cold sorc is power? Try to kill the cold immune.
How about D3's build variety? Just Max dps, then stack ias, crit, cd, armor, ar and life. Just rinse and repeat.
I was five minutes into the video and he still said nothing of substance, so I quit watching. Very boring video.... Learn to edit.
There is no reason the video needs to be 30 minutes long AND in two parts. A lot of it was unnecessary, including the sound of him lighting up in the beginning. It was boring and pointless.
Just FYI
This video was made for people who have been watching my testing and covered topics that were asked numerous times throughout weeks.
If you did not understand nor enjoy the material, then that's fine.
I didn't ask Diablofans to put it on the front page, if you don't like the content and it's boring to you, move along and go on with your day.
pretty simple if you ask me
