Announcing the DiabloFans "Site Update" Beta

We have some great news to share with everyone. Starting today we are launching the beta of our new site design and system. This system will let us bring more features than ever before as time goes on! (Including a new stream section!)

We are looking for any and all feedback. But mainly are looking for those pesky bugs! If you find anything, please post in the feedback thread with any of your beta feedback. You can also use the "FEEDBACK" button on the right side of the screen when viewing the beta.

Please note that the beta is a snapshot of live. This means new posts on diablofans will not show up on the beta and posts made on the beta will not show up on live

To go along with announcing our new site - we have a giveaway to do! We will be giving away a copy of Diablo 3 for the ps3 and the xbox 360. Entering is easy - just follow the steps below.

Pick what feature in the console version interests you the most in the poll
In the comments say what you picked, and explain why
If you picked other, make sure to say what "other" is
Make sure to let us know if you want the PS3 game, or the Xbox360 Game
It breaks my heart to say this, but you must live in NA to enter this contest

loot 1.5 and coop playstation 3
would like to see how loot 2.0 is going to feel and my newphews like watching me play so it would be cool to be able to set up some coop games with them on my ps3

I voted for the dodge function. Mostly because its like having an extra skill. Right now I prefer melee classes, and I have to take one or two movement/shield skills like sprint or leap in order to dodge things like freezing and arcane easier. Seems like it would make combat more fun too.

I have a constant rivalry with my brother and he always wins via AH; that being said I chose the No Auction House. There is something so sad that happens after pouring hours into a gear grind, just to smacked about by my bother who is not afraid to spend cash for equipment. The console game gives us a level playing field.

Xbox 360 version, it's my brother's preferred system and I'd love to be able to smack em around on his home turf!

I can't wait for the redesign! Things have always been great here at Diablofans, I cannot wait to see what improvements will be made!

Loot 1.5 becuase finding your own gear is more rewarding then buying it on the ah.

Direct control of the character. I grew up as a console gamer. First games I ever played was Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. Eventually when I was around 8 I started playing Diablo 1 on PC a couple years before D2 came out. I then later played Unreal Tournament but that was mostly it until WoW. I've just never used my PC for gaming outside of things like WoW, Diablo, Minecraft and other indie type games like Amnesia and Magicka. So when I played the Demo of the 360 it was really cool. I have 3 level 60 characters in PC Diablo but there is something really cool about controlling them with an analog stick. I guess it's the console gamer in me.

Xbox is my preferred platform to answer that part.

I voted loot 1.5. I'm looking forward to loot 2.0 in the pc version and I'd love to sort of see what its all about first hand with the console version. But in addition to that I'm interested in direct character control and the dodge feature as well. If I won, I'd love a PS3 Copy!

I voted for Local Coop Up to 4 Players because ever since D2 I've been trying to get my wife to play Diablo with me. Once we downloaded the D3 demo on PS3 she was hooked. It's nice to have a game we can both enjoy together. The Local Coop brings a whole new experience to D3 because its fun to be in the same room with the person you're playing with and talking and joking around.

I would love a PS3 version

Offline mode for me.. I would have liked it if they just made it properly and separated the two. Having offline and online play, where online has auction house and ladder and offline has the capability of local co-op using save files. Or perhaps sign on to battlenet to download characters and then able to play offline.

I picked direct control. I have spent so much time playing computer games that my left hand instinctively goes to WASD position. Sometimes if I need to react quickly I'll instinctively go for whatever WASD key leads me out of trouble, but then I die. Would be nice to have Diablo 3 have a better hack and slash feel to it.

I chose the 4 player couch co-op, as I fondly remember getting my non gamer wife to play through the game with me. The most annoying party of the experience was having to play on two different desk tops spanning 2 floors.

PS3 ftw.

I went with the Offline Mode, primarily because having deaths in Hardcore that aren't my fault (a constant on Battle.net for many players) means that it all comes down to whether or not I have the skills and reflexes to survive what I get myself into. I also don't have to worry about latency or not being able to play when I want to play (Diablo 3 has had more downtime in one year than World of Warcraft has had in the last three years). As much as I want better loot overall, stable and reliable gameplay is pretty much a requirement before anything else is considered.

Since I do not own an XBox 360, I'll be looking to snag the PS3 version.

I live in Sweden but I try anyway since I am dumb.

Offline Mode - since now I can play it when the internet goes down. This was my only request I had when D3 was annonced since I always played D1 and D2 offline, solo. No problems.

Playing with friends is fun, but whats even more fun? Alternative choices!

If I could win I would say both Xbox 360 and PS3, since I have both.

I voted for direct control over your character. To me this makes diablo a whole new experience. I've got multiple 60s, a p100 DH, an HC monk who can traverse mp1 (oOoOo.. lol), a self find character, and many more. For some reason, there is still an appeal to the console version that makes me think the experience will be fresh and entertaining as it is a whole new style of play. Direct control also means i can sit or lay down on my couch in a much more comfortable position than i could with a keyboard/mouse while i save the world from Diablo =).

360 version if selected!!

Local coop ftw! It's way more fun being able to speak directly to the people you are playing with... and looking at the same screen also means it is easier to communicate because everyone is literally on the same page.

Oh and xbox 360

i picked Loot 1.5 because i have spent months play D3 on pc and have yet to find more then 1-2 decent LEG's but when i went over to a friend house and played D3 on the 360 after hitting level 60 farm had so much more reward like it did when playing D2. right now farming on pc version is just not worth it you either get nothing or crap.

I want to see if Blizzard really pulled off a loot curve that's fun and doesn't need an AH to play on higher difficulties.

Hoping for a PS3 copy!

I picked dodge because I hate standing in poop. Can't wait to dodge backwards only to leap back in on the barb!

Though, there are some great cases for offline mode. Very excited to play hardcore where I don't have to constantly worry about lag.

I voted local co-op because the social element is quite lacking on the pc. I played d2 with friends. When I didn't, I was meeting new ones. The game required you to interact with other players for trades, rushes, ect. I suppose that bleeds into the AH issue as well. Unfortunately there wasn't an "all" vote on the poll.

I've got a 360.
