Leaked Diablo III Cinematic Screenshots
We had a user posting on our forums today. He was able to provide some amazing pictures of the cinematics. These are a massive spoiler. The first couple or not so bad, but the last two in this list are indeed some of the biggest spoilers released to date. Please only view if you do not care about spoilers.

Activision Blizzard First Quarter Results Conference Call
Today Activision Blizzard held their Q1 results call. There was not to much talk about Diablo III this time around but we did pick up two interesting facts.
  • About 8000 Retailers will be holding midnight release events
  • There were about 2 million people in the beta
  • Diablo III has broken Blizzard pre-order sales, they are including the Annual Pass numbers in that.

"One of the Chosen" Explained
With the recent news that Closed Beta participants will be obtaining a special Feat of Strength and sigil, Bashiok headed to the forums to reply with some information.

Things like attending BlizzCon, where only a few thousand people can attend, is a Feat of Strength.

Of course there are plenty of people who want each of the Feats of Strength, but the reason why they aren't Achievements, and don't provide Achievement points, is due to the limited-time, invite only, or simply impossible nature of obtaining them.

Favoritism and fairness doesn't factor into a random selection of opted-in people with appropriate system specifications. There were giveaways as well, to be sure, and if any of those were run unfairly where people did not have an equal shot at winning a key I'd be very interested in that information.

I understand if it's disappointing that you weren't in the closed beta and therefore won't get a Feat of Strength, and I fully sympathize, but that's different than a great injustice having been done.

You clearly stated that there wasn't going to be an achievement or feat of strength for beta awhile back.
Being absolutely honest I stated very clearly that achievements and characters from the beta would not carry through to the final game (which is still true). If I had been aware at all that when I said that there was a Feat of Strength being developed for closed beta participants, I would have provided that info as well. I was not, so I didn't. We learned of the Feat of Strength two days ago, and worked to inform all of you because the beta achievement text is a bit unclear as to who should be receiving it.

Yup! And, as other players have stated, the game license should already be on your Battle.net account. Just head to Battle.net Account Management , find the Account &--#62; Summary page, and under "Your Game Accounts" you should see a digital Diablo III license.

If it's not there, make sure you're logging into the Battle.net account on which you purchased the Annual Pass. If you do that and it's still not there, you'll want to contact Customer Support to get everything worked out.

Thank you once again to all of our beta participants. We look forward to seeing you in Sanctuary! (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

BattleTags
Certainly not silly. :)

We've currently no plans to modify the BattleTag system before release, but we are keeping an eye on all related feedback. We know some players are apprehensive of the new system and understand those concerns, but we also know a lot players are happy with it (or simply neutral). It's something we'll be watching closely once the game ships.

Let's not get this off-topic thread off-topic, though. If you want to discuss the BattleTag system, the best place to do so right now is here. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Class Sigils
Because it was fun, and because each submission helped pushed the unlock bar closer to 100%.

Beyond that, we stated both in the FAQ and site details post that we would be opening up all sigils for a period of time up until May 18. This grace period is just to ensure that players have the opportunity to earn sigils that they may have missed.

Is it supposed to be the battletag one, or it is irrelevant after all?
The nickname you're asked to enter isn't important, and it certainly doesn't have to be your BattleTag. It's just the searchable identifier we use if your submission makes it into the Hero of the Day gallery.

I tried both FireFox and IE ... the page doesn't load and I'm getting 404 half the time?
We're aware of the issues and working to address them the right now. Thank you for the report, though!

Does the picture have to include you to get the sigil?
Nope! In fact, you're welcome to use the default image. It's up to you. :) (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Arcane Orb Looks Bad?
That's the first time I've heard that. That skill is awesome looking. Weirdo. (Source)

Diablo III Music
The best part about the Diablo music is that it's pretty sparse. It makes for a much more dynamic play experience, also giving the music more impact when it builds and crescendos.

Don't get me wrong. I like several bands that play some pretty hard stuff. But even the most diverse and dynamic of those bands won't be substituted in place of the full Diablo sound experience on my first play through. :)

This isn't just a "let the bodies hit the floor" game. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
