I had a dream that Bashiok announced that the release date was late April. I'm gonna go with that.

It just feels way too early, but hell, I am happy either it's true or not, because no matter what the game will come. And I, will be ready!

I too agree with the above. The inability to debunk now compared to the ability to easily debunk prior makes it seem kinda sketchy, like something is happening behind the scenes. I personally don't believe the rumor, because rumor's lead to disappointments, but I won't rule it completely out either. I guess we'll just have to wait and see for ourselves. "Expect the worst, hope for the best", is the motto I've been clutching when it comes to blizzard release dates.

releasing it before college exams start ain't a favour, especially if you're not in the best academic shape (FLASHBACK - Starcraft 2 + Law Exams = Tears)

Blizzard would NOT being doing "most of us" a favor by delaying Diablo 3 simply because some people have exams and graduations. I hate to burst your bubble but that was an extremely ignorant statement.

Okay Jay, ill bite. Hopefully we get some release date info next week. Not sure if i can bite fully in to the april 17th madness. But Jay has just become much too active to disregard. And not being able to confirm or deny is pretty telling imo.

Blizzard doesnt care about what day of the week it releases they have released titles on Tuesday Wednesday Thursday... they just kinda pick a day of the week and say sure why not this works... i am excited however that the announcement date is soon cant wait for them to give us a real day. I have a feeling it will be Thursday or Friday of either this week or next is when they do the announcement since Wednesdays is when they do the meetings for the game.

April 17th is a very good possibility. Even when they said q2 my opinion was endapril-midmay. Also keep in mind that they will be offering D3 as a direct download on release day(online purchase). I believe I have even read that you would be able to predownload it so youre ready to go at midnight. (this is huge in terms of a release)

The info could have been a "leak of a leak".... so to speak... But with all the work that has been done and the changes made to not at least expect by mid may are mostly just disapointed people. Can't say I blame anyone, I was a very hardcore d2 player back in the day. In fact I only quit about a year before wow came out. Ive been pumped for this ever since they announced it.

Just remember wether it is this specific date or a little further ahead D3 is finally almost here, it's right around the corner. It will be a sweet sweet day to put on our hard drives. Hang in there bros! (and broettes)

If it had been a case of the person only posting "I don't care", then your question would be justified. However, that is not the case here. Mayne is saying that the rumor isn't worthy of attention since it's not even sourced from Blizzard.
