First European Wave of Diablo III Beta Invites Under Way
It looks like EU has finally got its first big beta wave for the Diablo 3 beta!

The first wave of invitations to the European Diablo III beta test is now being delivered. The client is available in English, with German and French becoming available at a later date. In addition to selecting players from those who have opted in via their Battle.net accounts, we’ll also be providing keys through beta promotions and giveaways. We welcome those invited to provide feedback on the official forums.

If you have a beta license, you are free to show, share, or talk about any portion of the beta content to which you have access, as this beta test is not confidential.

As always, we’d like to remind those hoping for an invite to be wary of phishing attempts. If you believe you’ve received an invite to the Diablo III beta test, it’s best to refrain from clicking on any links in the email, and instead log in to your Battle.net account to see if a Diablo III beta game account has indeed been granted. Or, if you were sent a key, you should attempt to add it manually by going to the Add or Upgrade a Game section of the Battle.net account management page.

For those who have received an invite to the beta test, we thank you for helping us test out our server stability and hardware. For those of you still hoping for an invite, we wish you the best of luck and hope you’ll keep an eye out for some of the beta-key giveaways and promotions we’ll have right here on the European Diablo III community site.

For more information, please see the beta opt-in announcement and FAQ.

Diablo 3 and Future Weekly Maintenance
Due to Diablo 3 being always online, one issue people face is not being able to play their favorite game while battle.net is down. Blizzard stated they are not fully sure how long Diablo 3 will go down each week. Hopefully only a short time, like Starcraft 2.

Of course, when we patch the game (which will also be a rare thing), we will do so during a Battle.net maintenance window. With Diablo III we're aiming for minimal downtime, and have a goal of taking the game down even less than StarCraft II. A few weeks after launch, we hope to get away from the weekly maintenance window all together, and go to perhaps a once-a-month planned, brief outage.

No, you're intended to choose a rune with each skill. (Source)

Would you ever choose not to rune a skill? #D3 design is predicated on tradeoffs, this could be robust, if not more complex
No, it's always been the intent that a runed skill is superior to a non-runed skill. (Source)

Got it, thanks for the quick reply! Is the team concerned about a mathematically 'best' choice?
Always. But it's not so much about there being a best, as much as "can there be many viable alternatives". (Source)

Rune Unlocks
Personally, I dig the rune unlocks as is. Leveling a new monk since the changes and every unlock so far has felt super awesome.
I'm sure itll be great fun for about a month. Try to think long term instead of instant gratification.
I know... and then once you have everything unlocked you only have billions of possible combination choices (before gear). (Source)

Art Contest
Have you started your art piece yet? I'm expecting great things of you. Don't let Uncle B down. Link
I'm having a hard time understanding what you're looking for. Do you want an actual 3/4 profile portrait or just a basic action img
It's up for interpretation, to make it more fun. But a classic approach might be the class art pieces - Link (Source)
