The Dreadlands are being corrupted by madness, causing its victims to open their flesh and lash out at friend and foe alike. Jacob, a young fugitive from the city of Staalbreak, may be Sanctuary's only hope to stop this plague before it consumes or destroys mankind. His destiny is bound to a mysterious sword and the woman who watches over it, but his own troubled soul may keep him from embracing its true power in time.
Wiki Digest #7
by PhrozenDragon
I want to start this digest by giving a shoutout to CableCat, who has for almost two years been updating the ominously named Diablo: The Hell mod in the wiki. It's an overhaul of the very first Diablo game, and is reportedly quite the challenge in case you want to try it out.
Next, new user Sojourna has starting cleaning up a lot of pages by fixing spelling and grammatical errors, structuring up disheveled article structures and creating redirects to help users navigate the wiki more easily.
Many more lore articles have been brought up to par with the Book of Cain, among them Itherael, Silver City, Nehpalem, Mage Clans and others. I'm about halfway through the book updating process by now. The Book of Cain page itself has also been updated to give an overview of what it contains.
Apoc has updated the Diablo III Patches, but since the patch represents some rather large changes it's going to take a while to get it all implemented.
Finally I want to round off this digest with another shoutout, this one to Ebonmourn. He was hard at work updating our recipe pages in the wiki, particularly those of the Mystic. But as we all know, that effort was crushed earlier this week with the announcement that the mystic is no longer in the game.
It's not because the game would have won best game of 2011 had it come out 12-31-2011 :). The delays are for important things I'd assume, Blizzard doesn't really mess around with their game releases. People can say what they want, but most people only have this idea of Blizzard as the WoW juggernaut of content patches and expansions. I remember them from the older games and having to wait through countless delays until I finally got the game in hand and it was more incredible than I could have imagined.
I have the beta right now so I get a taste of what to expect. But I feel it's more of a tease than anything else because I'm limited to level 13 and can only play to the Skele King... I can't wait to be doing boss runs (old habits will die hard :D) to get loot!
