Fourth Batch of Screenshots and Art

The first image we have here is a rendered image of the Tristram Cathedral and looks beautiful... Though something I want to point out, back in Diablo I, there was a fence on the right side of the Cathedral just past the graveyard... It now looks like it's open and that trail leads to another city/town... I wonder where that could be heading to?
The second screenshot depicts the Witch Doctor firing his Poison Dart skill against some Walking Corpses and what looks to be an Unburied. You can also see a Zombie Dog heading up into the fray.

References:
1- D2 portal, you can see it's the same place in both games
2- Town center, the same in both games
3- Small wall, appears in both games too.
4- That small structure next to the cathedral is in both games.
5- Walls surround the Cathedral in the first game. Walls surround the blackened earth (lol metallica).
There are trees behind the walls that mark the town limits, in both games.
I see what you mean, two houses seem to be gone in Diablo 2, but of those two houses, the big one doesn't have walls around it, and there are no ruins of the other house. Plus, the cathedral's location in d1 seems to be the same as the black earth in d2.
EDIT: I just saw your second post. That image of the cathedral being on a hill is from Diablo 3. The cathedral in d1 wasn't on a hill.
Nah, I know Ive seen that Signature before... Ah-HA! Page 8 in the artwork section Liah over a flaming gap, and again the 3 three panels of Decard Cain when the comet hits. Waaaay back from '07. Now I don't know the people working on the game but we've seen this artist's work before.
And Wolven, what you have labeled as 5 in the burnt down Tristram picture is actually part of what you labeled as 2. The only area we have access to in D2 is the area you have labeled as 2. The wall around the area wasn't present in D1, but it was put there in D2 for obvious reasons.
I just hope the WD doesn't come off as too "dumm diddy ay dumm diddy ay"
What I labeled as 5 are the walls around the cathedral in d1, and the walls around the burn part in d2. In Diablo 2 we have access to all those areas, except for the places where wirt and Adria were located in d1.
Look at both images and you'll see that both the Cathedral (d1) and the black earth (d2) are both to the north of the houses.
And my point is that, both the cathedral and that burnt ground have a big wall with trees behind (the town limits). Also, there's not only one house missing in Diablo 2, there are two, why would they put one and not the other?.
All this plus the fact that the location of that burn ground seems to fit better in reference to where the portal was in d2 and it's place in d1 makes me think that the burnt earth was meant to be the place where the cathedral once was.
I see your point, and it's true that that house could be the burn ground, it's just that there are a few things that make me see that the cathedral was supposed to be gone in D2.
It's not important, I'm just trying to point out what I see: that they forgot that the cathedral wasn't there in d2.
Read it carefuly, don't you think that it makes more sense that they made a tiny mistake?
I know, but the fact that they put it on a hill in that D3 cinematic doesn't change the cathedral's location in d1 or in d2.

Thats what you see of Tristram in D2. The walls were added in for D2 so that you couldn't reach certain areas. They specifically mention in some kind of cinematic or something (although it could just be my memory) that the cathedral was mysteriously not destroyed in the fire that consumed Tristram. And the Cathedral could have been on a hill in D1. A good chunk of A5 in D2 is on a mountain and you barely notice it because of the 2D. They just can't make it seem like you're at certain elevations.
I also counted the buildings, it's 7 buildings in Diablo 1 at the exact same places where the ruins are in Diablo II. The Cathedral not included. But i can't say i remember the cinematic you're talking about, Jack.
Yeah I wondered about that too. Is it part of his armor configuration that he keeps the shield on his back? Cause it could seem impractical to sling the shield over your back every time you use that skill.
