Wizard in Plate Mail

As scheduled, Blizzard has released the a new armor set. This time it is the female Wizard featured in a red plate mail armor. It is interesting to see how something as "heavy" as plate mail we be worn by someone of a lighter feel. Keep in mind that every class will be able to wear every type of armor. While still keeping the plate mail, they have also incorporated the robes of the wizard keeping its unique look to the class.

Our armor preview continues today with a behind-the-scenes look at the female wizard sporting a red plate mail set. And keep in mind if you don't happen to like that shade of red, it can drop in any number of colors, or be customized to your liking through the dye system. Thursday we'll be previewing a set worn by the female barbarian, so check back.

UPDATE:

A bit more info, this particular plate mail is the armor we will be finding near the end of normal.

This...I'm biased to like it as a Diablofan but...I just don't like it at all.

And honestly, I wish Blizzard would stop releasing images of like..still shots from the game. It just doesn't look right because normally all of that would be moving and changing in light. So as just an 2D jpeg, it just looks terrible.

Looks a lot better than the witch doctor did. But it does look kinda low res.

I saw this earlier today and i didn't think much of it.. Then later today, i imagined her walking around confidently and fiercely through hordes of demons throwing them away using telekinesis and shooting frost balls at them.. After that i thought it looked pretty fucking bad ass.

Nice set, makes me wonder what the armors from 'Hell' are gonna look like. The one from last week was a bit disappointing but now I have regained hope. :thumbsup:

I don't think it's really awesome, but since it's a ~lvl 20 item I shouldn't be expecting much. In fact, for such a simple item it looks pretty cool. The mix of cloth accents and metal plating works for me, though I do think the helmet/crown/metal turban is a bit clunky.

I like this armor just a little bit. I would like to see some epic armor with glowing Aura or light or energy or what ever that makes it even more mightier or more magical. I hope this isn't the best they have for the end of normal. I would like to see even more exotic/crazy designs in Diablo 3.

For those of you who don't know, these sets that they are showing us are not sets like in Sigon's or Immortal King's. They are simply the reguar armor you get like leather or plate.

The helmet looks like a wolf's face. The kind of helmet you can slide up during non-combat and then down during combat. Which makes me ask (maybe somebody can pass along the question to somebody at Blizz): will she slide the helmet up and down when in town and then in combat? (Somebody mentioned -Bashiok if I remember correctly- that the stance of heroes changes when in town as opposed to the stance when in combat. It would be nice to see her sliding the helmet when entering town and then covering her face with the wolf metal face...

That is a really good idea. I hope they do that.
