Blizzard is in the lead against Nintendo, as is Square against Zynga.... currently.
If Blizzard has to face Zynga in the finals though... we'll have to rally people. There's no way we can let Blizzard lose that matchup. With the WoW fanbase in the curse network, it should be possible.
It's a tough one for a lot of people. Nintendo was definitely a big part of my childhood but I simply have to go with Blizz.
I can understand that. I guess though while I was going through my childhood with Nintendo, it was during my adolescence that I really began to play Blizzard games and I have a lot of fond memories doing so. Especially with Warcraft II and the first Diablo game.
However, now if it comes down to Blizzard vs. Bioware, I'll vote Bioware just cause these days I feel like Blizzard maintains a certain degree of contempt and animosity toward their fans that I really can't stand. It's like, they open themselves to so much discussion for every little detail about the game via avenues such as threads that Bashiok responds to-I say just keep an ear to the ground and be aware of what fans are saying about the game development and let them duke it out between themselves about what's seemingly good or bad about the game and in the meantime just focus strictly on developing the game. As opposed to humoring every little detailed concern that fans raise on their forums, I really don't understand how some topics get so much attention. I think it distracts the company from making progress on their games.
And to a lot of concerns that people raise about Diablo 3, whether petty or legit, Bashiok always has some sort of smug disagreeable thing to say to that person. While I admire his wit, I also think that if people constantly have so many things to complain about D3, and you're always just going to disagree with them anyway, why not just ignore them in the meantime and continue doing what you're doing with your game.
Does that make sense? Like, if you're going to disagree so much on what people are saying about the development of your game, what's the point really of taking as much time as Blizzard does to address and then negate what these disgruntled fans are complaining about? Most things I think people complain about on their forums are rather petty and loyalist to their older games. But surely Blizzard and Bashiok himself can easily recongnize such complaints, right? So whey do they even get so as involved with these fans and humor them so much? To an extent, I can appreciate that they maintain a relatively closer relationship to their fans than other developers do, but in the same respect, I think they're a little too open to debate on the development of their games and they seem to change so many game mechanics and let you know whenever a slight change occurs.
I think as game developers they should just have more faith in the vision of their game and plow through it all. As opposed to letting every little aspect of their game become a huge stage for debate.
Blizzard should know by now what the overall impressions of their game are. Knowing this, it just seems they should dive into it more and just work on it and let fans discuss game development all they want while they continue to work on it. But I get annoyed every time there's a news update even on this site talking about health orbs, or inventory systems, etc. It's like, have more faith in yourselves as developers and have more faith in the fans that they will appreciate the final product. And just discontinue those Bashiok threads in the meantime cause it just makes it sound a lot of the time like Blizzard is stooping to the level of these angry disgruntled fans who are never really going to be satisfied no matter what.
Right, a front page link to a random unpopular poll which happens to include Blizzard.... sure, whatever... far from a fair poll and anyone just saying "one" beats the crap out of "two" just sound silly.
This also is not a topic about having any sort of argument or discussion... could be this be any less interesting? :/

No one's really gonna claim this is a scientific poll by any means. If anyone did claim that in this thread then they're silly.
I agree completely Siaynoq. At first, Bashiok's little responses were cute. Now, it's just plane disrespectful to the community. I really do share the same animosity towards Blizz about how they treat their fans. However, that is not playing a role in my voting. I'm simply voting for my favorite gaming company that produces the best games IMO.
But with Bashiok, I'm not merely trying to say he's disrespectful. Cause I do think his replies are rather amusing. I just don't see what the point is anymore of him replying to these people's complaints. Especially because they are complaining about the stupidest things. He's responded to many threads at this point. They should just close discussion in the meantime and go silent for awhile. But instead it just makes it feel like Blizzard is a child and the people complaining are also children and they're like, "Nuh uhhhh!!!" "Is so!"
When I think back I can remember my attitude versus the blue tracker. At first it was "Oh great, maybe there will be some new stuff revealed in his posts!". And rightfully so, because occasionally Bashiok would provide actual information. However, after so many lame posts I simply don't even follow it anymore.
But in any case, how is Square destroying Zynga? I thought Zynga was a powerhouse?
Edit: JUST kidding, apparently Zynga was sleeping when the poll first opened. They are winning hard now lol.
One of the posts in the Square Enix Vs. Zynga thread:
"I HATE Valve, but if it is Valve vs. Zynga in the Semifinals I'll definitely vote for them."
A LOT of people enjoy Zynga games. A hella lot. They also have the profit of promoting in their games or on facebook.
But I don't think they are the best developers there. Square Enix, Valve, Blizzard, Bethesda, Bioware, Relic and Nintendo are all better, but they don't have the benefit of day-to-day promotion and a ridiculously large fanbase. And that makes me a sad panda

They are all awesome companies with amazing games.

Right?! Plus who would rather make a little farm and s*** instead of playing rpg's and shooters.
