"It's official. You won't be playing
Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty this year, as Blizzard has moved the release date of the real-time strategy game to the "first half of 2010." No, they never dated it; but they have now.
Activision Blizzard's reason for the delay of
Starcraft II is reportedly tied to the relaunch of its upgraded Battle.net service, which handles multiplayer for all things Blizzard. In a statement to the Blizzard community, the developer writes "Over the past couple of weeks, it has become clear that it will take longer than expected to prepare the new Battle.net for the launch of the game."
Blizzard calls the new Battle.net an "integral part of the
Starcraft II experience and will be an essential part of all of our games moving forward." Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said during an investor call today that the new iteration of Battle.net will likely be ready "early next year.""

Keep in mind that D3 already had 4 years of development when it was announced.
I dont know if you played WoW or if you've followed the releases of WoW expansions and content patches, but let me list the last few ones, to see how it looks :
(Yay, love speculations)
WoW: Classic - Release : November 23, 2004
WoW: The Burning Crusade - Release: January 16, 2007 -> 7months (2.2 years from WoW classic)
WoW: Wrath of the Lich King - Release: November 13, 2008 -> 8months (1.9year from Burning Crusade)
WoW: Cataclysm?(Speculations :P)
If we add 7-8months(let's say 8months) again to the last content patch, like the 2 previous expansions, it would be around November 2010.
You may think it's too soon, but it's the pace they've been following for the Major content patches and expansions for the last 4years. I've played WoW for 4 years and been a raider for the last 3years(I quit 3months ago), and I can tell you that a lot of raiders think it isn't that fast, and that it is needed.
Don't get me wrong, I really want Diablo3 to be released soon, but I'm not being really optimist with the fact that it could be released(read ready in the eyes of Blizzard) before the next WoW expansion. But of course I'd love if it was
My guess for Diablo3? I'd say first release date Q2 2011, pushed back to Q3 2011, lets hope not Q4.(oh you didn't ask? ^_^)
....*sigh*
Yeah, that's obviously why they've delayed the beta test too, right?
Because, like... testing a game in an 'abysmal selling season' doesn't work, right?
And also because, like... video games don't sell during Christmas period, right?
This -^
I was saving up for SC2 (thought it coming out this December)
Now I gotta wait longer =(
I guess I will just gonna save up again more now and I buy both SC2 and D3

*kill a kitty"
I hope not. I already smell it often enough as it is. I don't want to be subjected to it even more often.
I would like to more often go places or skate somewhere and breathe untainted oxygen, not having it smell of cigarettes or weed. Both smell terrible, alcohol breathe is rather disgusting as well.
(I am not trying to say it is everywhere, I just happen to like skateboarding and some skateboarders happen to have some very annoying habits that make it hard to just go and enjoy skateboarding).
Please ignore this, continue wondering if D3 will be affected by SC2's delay or not and or complaining about the delay for SC2.
IMO it won't be affected too much, separate teams/D3 isn't near completion so B.net should be done in time for it, etc.
They didn't. They actually said the exact opposite. Don't expect which game will be released in 2010. The Starcraft release date was respected but unfortunately it was due to the third party Bnet program that it was set back. Which is another production team all together.
One more thing. How many stupid ass expansions does WoW need. My god...but I guess there needed. It's the only game that still makes them tons of money, and if thats what they need to continue production with games then so be it. Hell I don't play starcraft or warcraft, but id be will to make a damn donation to blizzard!!! Lets all donate a damn dollar. How many people are there on this forum? Lets all donate a buck or 2 to the diablo 3 production LOL...10,000 of us on here? 10k...damn..that sure would help the production
I'm not going to comment on that last part of your post...
As far as WoW, well, most people over there are expecting 2 more expansions... so, yeah..
""I will confirm that the move of StarCraft into 2010 does not affect the release schedules of any of our other games," said Blizzard president Mike Morhaime."
Here is another quote from the same interview with Shacknews...
""We haven't announced any release dates on any future title. And I'll also reiterate that the [move of] StarCraft into next year does not impact the schedule," said Morhaime, who then, with a slight laugh, added: "And so it would be correct to conclude that you could expect two releases of Blizzard next year. But I will not make any conclusion as to what those titles will be.""
So you got the president of Blizzard practically saying there is a very good chance, I won't say garenteed though, that we'll be seeing both Starcraft 2 AND Diablo 3 in the same year, 2010.
