Please note that he also said explicitly that it is not a guarantee! Don't get your hopes too high yet, folks! It's coming along. We're still in the process of refining and testing the changes going into the patch. Work is progressing, we haven't stopped working on it or anything like that.
As far as information of what's being changed in the patch, almost anything we're working on now could be removed. Testing could deem any change unworkable and we'd have to remove it. By releasing any information on possible changes we'd be raising expectations that the change is guaranteed to make it in, no matter how many disclaimers we place on it. That said, one change we're planning is to increase the stash size to 12x10. As I said it is in no way a guaranteed change. Any number of reasons could mean it will not make it into the final patch. But enjoy the breadcrumb maybe?
Thoughts? Comments? I'd love more inventory space, personally. Cuts down on mules
(On a side note, I think it would be a good gesture for everyone to add some rep to sssupply for finding this tidbit first!)
June 9th 2008 - Reset announced to take place on June 17th (which it did)
June 20th 2007 - Reset announced to take place on June 25th (which it did)
So I am hoping that it will follow the past two years and they will reset it before the end of June, I havent played in 3 years and wanted to start playing again in March, but decided to wait until the reset...
Hopefully they decided against the test realm and they are doing everything themselves (which is why it is taking so long) and they will announce the reset and patch release soon...fingers crossed...
(Info from Arreat Summit)
Yea, it really doesnt matter to me, but really I dont see what blizzard is going to gain from a test realm besides everyone crying that hammerdins got nerfed and other balancing issues that some people wont like...I just dont see it being a necessity, but we will see...I just want to freaking play...
Yea, they would mostly be looking for major bugs/crashes due to the updating in the code...because any other exploits, the players would mostly keep their mouths shut about it....
Whatever they do, they better hurry up, this is just getting to be ridiculous...honestly, I would be happy with a "patch failed, we stopped working on it, but the reset will be in a week" lol, I just want a response from someone...
And I get my answer shortly after...this is what Bashiok had to say after almost a month of saying nothing regarding the patch...Someone asked if he had any more details regarding the patch:
"Not really. Work on the patch was put on hold for a while due to higher priority issues, but it commences, and it is nearing. "
WOW! THANKS!....not...but I guess it is something...
A proper dueling character before had his inventory full and stash full and still wanted more. Why? Becuase they had weaknesses against some other builds. Way to go blizzard, instead of tweaking how absorbs and res works so you cant bm every elemental build so damn easily, you instead make it even easier to bm everyone.
Its ok, its well worth completely screwing up pvp, which is a main reason why a lot of people have played the game for so long, so some noob can hold more gems because its too damn hard to xfer them, which takes less then a minute.
You gotta be kidding me. You again? And this time its more ridiculous than your arguments for respec.
Nah, I'm not kidding. Now I have plenty of stash space for a bunch of life/res charms of each element, and sorb gear. I can carry multiple weapons and shields, no problem. I can carry all the prebuff gear I want.
At least with more limited stash gear people would have to compromise as to exactly what they'd be bringing into duel games. Now I'll be able to stash enough res charms to negate a blizz sorc while I have conviction on me and not even have to sacrifice something else that might be of use to me, I'll just bring it all.
How is that a ridiculous argument?
