Blizzcon '09

The Blizzcon site has been updated for 2009.

Tickets will go on sale May 16th:

Tickets to this year's BlizzCon gaming convention, being held on August 21 and 22 in Anaheim, California, will go on sale worldwide on Saturday, May 16 for $125 each, with a second block of tickets going on sale Saturday, May 30.

For those unable to attend, DIRECTV will once again be televising BlizzCon in high definition as a Pay Per View event, featuring coverage from the show floor, exclusive interviews, demos, and more. In addition, for the first time, players around the world will be able to watch the DIRECTV BlizzCon event as a Pay Per View Internet stream.

Heroes & Monsters

The hero you play and the monsters you slay take center stage in any Diablo game. Join us for a look at the design process that brings these characters and creatures to life, as well as the mechanics involved in creating epic and memorable battles.

Lore

Sit down with our lore masters as they delve into the past, present, and future of the Diablo universe. We’ll recap the story thus far, provide new information on the tale Diablo III will tell, and grant some insight into what’s in store for Sanctuary.

Art

From designing characters to creating concept art to placing the building blocks that form the world: Our artists take players on a behind-the-scenes tour of Sanctuary.

I'd love to, but I think the total pricing is a little beyond my means.

My hopes for Blizzcon this year is for the costumed nerd fans of Diablo to outnumber the costumed nerd fans of WoW.

I'm excited about the lore part it says past, present, AND future.

Sounds awesome, wish I was at the point in my life where I could get away from work and school to go to these kinds of events... Maybe someday.

Anyways, I'll be spending pretty much all day Aug 21 and 22 on these forums waiting for links to videos and news articles

Yeah I also thought the barbarian in the picture was pretty awesome. Whatever Starcraft Unit that is also. A Ghost?

The dragon we've seen lots of from WotLK stuff.

at least the two waves of tickets this year will be more like half and half.
also i think the ticket queue system page detailing the steps of the purchase with the associated time limits is amusing in that it seems like they're trying to cover their asses just as much as they're trying to facilitate the ticket sales.

Daemaro - Just so people know, I live in Orange, CA right next door to Anaheim, literally 10 minutes from the Convention Center. I won't be able to go, but if a couple people need a place to crash for a few days during the convention, I have a futon and a couch in the living room. Maybe I should plan a party the day before Blizzcon or the day after the last day for a Big D3 celebration.

yeah, i love live stream 39.95 is OK
but one thing, this year's blizzcon's beta key should be Diablo 3's beta key .. OMFG...

Blizz isn't going to release both remaining classes. Maybe 1 more class. I would assume that there will be a more refined demo to play with different quests than the first demo.

maybe keys, but no beta date. This won't go until next year's blizzcon. SC2 beta should be announced tho,

I am also looking for some preview of next acts and 1 other class at least. I would like to see some gameplay as well. I just can't get enough of the gameplay previews. More, moreeeee

Sounds like their will be a lot of ground they will cover. Can't wait to see what this years Blizzcon will bring. I agree that the heroes and monsters section will probably showcase a new class. Actually considering picking up the stream for 40 bucks.
