Other topics discussed were Inventory system. Mulling is not encouraged in Diablo 3. That's a thing of the past. The part that made me drool here was "... We really want to make it easier for you to be able to share and trade items with other people and other characters on the same account. We've talked about ideas like a shared stash, or a mail system like World of Warcraft has, and we haven't nailed down exactly which one of those we want to do, but we're definitely going to do something like that, that's going to make it really easy for you if you've got, a witch doctor and a barbarian character, and you find that awesome witch doctor drop and you want to share it, it'll be super-easy to do that. No more opening up a game, dropping items on the ground, and you know, hoping that the game stays open or getting a friend to help out, no more of that. You should be able to do it on your own."

Thanks, ZoltrixIn this special Worldwide Invitational wrap-up edition of BlizzCast, we briefly recap some of the events at the recent WWI in Paris, and then move straight into a discussion with Diablo III Lead Designer Jay Wilson. We quiz him on how the development team is evolving the classic series -- and then dive into a discussion of some recent hot issues surrounding the upcoming sequel.
I Agree! actually some of the questions just got me shocked, on some of them i thought they just saw my post's and just payed attention and refered to it, of course it's not specific related to me i guess, but it's still awesome to see how much they care about the fans and how they actually think about changing the game contant and stuff for because of fan's reaction and so.. it's amazing.
Thx a lot for the info btw!
Keep up the great work guys.
people are still complaining about d3???
especially considering it will be the big topic at blizzcon.
why it's being downplayed is probably because they've hit a creativity issue. i'm certain they will work through it, but Diablo 2 set the bar VERY high.
i expect more info in these news bytes Blizzard.
i don't think so.
I like that they are spending a lot of time on act I because that's really what brings the player into the game.
I also like that they are sticking to four acts like in D2, it really shows how they want to stick to the structure that made D2 quests progress like they did.
I really want gold to be worth something in D3, it makes trading easily accessible because like Jay said, if you have an item that you want to trade, but the item you are trading for is more valuable, you can "pad" your items value with gold.
I think it's awesome that they are progressing the character abilities with the monster abilities. It just makes sense to do it that way.
Sounds like the inventory will be a lot bigger and there will be a shared stash, that's definitely a ++
It also sounds like Jay is playing a lot of D2 at the moment, that's good from a development standpoint. To kind of remind himself of what diablo really was.
I'm not sure I like the new lighting better than the green lighting... It's all good though, they had to do something to shut the whiners up.
Carnage is good
"Make the tones get worse" I hope he means worse in a good way:P
Oh, and "somebody's going to lambast me for not getting the name right." -- I lol'ed
So we can get HC adult movies here but not Fallout 3 - they had to release a special diluted F3 to pass the censors.
Blizzard would be aware of this but they could go a LOT further than anything I've seen in D2 so far. The graphic FX and sounds play into this too. Corpse Explosion in D2 was not sensationalised or gratuitous. It was the necessary "effect" for a body exploding. We didn't see entrails or blood spraying up at our isometric viewpoint camera.
No problem. My sunglasses are working just fine.
I think they did a really good job with the inventory. I don't think the icons are too small (also notice that items that you actually wear get their icon resized to bigger) and if they will make them bigger... well I just fear there won't be enough room in the log to show everything... and then we'll have to mess around with bags... you know... changing bags and not being able to see the whole inventory at once, I find that annoying. If they make the icons bigger and just give you less room, it's fine, because it's challenging and you actually have to pick up only stuff that are worth picking up. Anyway, from the way it looks now... I think it's awesome. The only thing I can point out that is not so good is the upper layout of the inventory which includes a shiney colorful baggy I find it stupid ^^ but really, minor issue, good job Blizzard.
good, shut the hell up now about diablo looking like WoW since you have no basis for your argument
the diablo team can only hope that their game obtains the feeling WoW gave everyone
I kinda feel bad hahaha. but anyway thankyou guys for working very hard on diablo 3.
This makes me as a hardcore fan know that my long wait for the announcement diablo 3 ment something. Thank you for listening. Keep up the good work.
d2 gfx are great btw... idk what ur talking bout fanboy... not 3d and there is less to worry about
and i want to know... in that pic of the barb from d3... hes wearing a plain helmet and on the actual character he has fuckin horned helm on? wtf...
but in all reality id love if d2 had the graphics of this: maybe its just because i loved assassins creed... i mean its a fairly bright envirnoment but just the midevil feel makes this game definately worthwile... idk check it out
As for Diablo 3 having THAT level of graphics - forget it it's not even an option. If it did have that level of detail (which is really unnecessary with the isomatric view) we would all probably need a pretty strong computer... because it takes alot more to have hordes of demons swinging and jumping than just having peasants walking in town... and blizzard wants everyone to be able to play (Not that I care... I have a strong computer) but you get the point.
As for Diablo 3 having that kind of art style - AC is a pretty bright game. It lacks color more than diablo and you got realistic dusty atmosphere all the time, BUT it's bright... maybe except in the town of Acre which could definitely fit somewhere in Diablo 3... but in general, the art style wouldn't fit.
Don't get me wrong. Assassin's Creed rulz!
