BlizzCon 2008 Coverage by DirectTV Pay-Per-View

Blizzard Entertainment and DirecTV have partnered to deliver fans of Diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft a whooping 16 Hours live HD video coverage of BlizzCon 2008 via Pay-Per-View. This is historic. Blizzard fans for the first time have the opportunity to watch a Blizzard Event via TV.

The great news is that for those fans who subscribe to DirecTV ONLY through the BlizzCon website's special offer will watch the live coverage for free. The current DirecTV subscribers who already have the service will pay only $39.95. That beats paying airplane tickets, hotel and extra costs -- that if you ever get lucky to buy a BlizzCon ticket in the first place. Those are sold like hot bread ... very fast. The offer is not yet active, but will be soon. Keep alert for updates.

Considering that most of the hardcore fans that will pay for the broadcast frequent this forum and votes in the polls, i guess DTV will only profit US$239,70 (less maybe, Blizzard has their cut too). LOL!!

Ok I think if its on Pay Per View, then it should be free to watch. But if it isnt gonna be free and it will be free online streaming... Then id rather watch it when it streams.

I shouldnt have to pay money unless im there watching the stuff first hand. But instead id have to watch it in the comfort of my own home, also. Not everybody has DirecTV so how can they watch it? So streaming for me is perfect

one of the reasons i am so happy for direct tv is i wanted to go to blizzcon but over 1000 dollars is a wee bit too much for me and my friend to fork over each to come from north carolina. at least i can get a polar bear mount and feel as if i was there.

8 people gonna do direct tv now on diablofans? woot looks like ima have to order extra pizza for da party!

It depends on the cost. If its $50... meh. But if its $20 or lower, HELLS YEA!

Hey watch it there buddeh I have DirecTV and love it.

Third party streamers might try, but Blizzard might not let them in.

ummm allowing this to be on HD television is more about bringing it to the people who can't pay to go there, and who don't want to watch it on a 640x400 res

you don't have to pay for it, they didn't tell you, buy direct tv or no d3 for you

and besides it's 30 dollars
