And you have 400%ish CHD already, so yeah, go for 100% more imo. Hoping for a perfect SoJ? That'd really complete your build

First off, what's your crit? My simple answer is roll for that 90%+ CHD if it's anywhere 35%+. Shame you can't have both, but a link to your armory would definitely help.

Nonono, I'm looking for the explanation. If it was a D2 thing, then thanks for that, I had no clue where the hype came from

Anything above T1 is rough dude, and you won't be doing that for long. Near full bis at 60, started struggling at 66, still finished the game and hit 70 with the same set of gear, but immediately swapped out afterwards.

Caltrops are bad as a skill, so you have no real defensive cooldowns. Here's a great guide for a strong build that should help you take t1 up to 70 with any kind of gear http://www.diablofans.com/forums/diablo-iii-class-forums/demon-hunter-the-dreadlands/83703-the-idiots-guide-to-sc-dh

Dunno if anyone else couldn't see the reforges to their gear in the Armory before, but I couldn't? And I can now? So maybe this is new for everyone?

posted a message on More or less new to Diablo, just hit 70 and have only been told "I'm way off the mark". Help with gear?
No socket in your weapon, immediate huge dps loss from no emerald. More vitality than dex, absolutely no crit, crit hit damage, or attack speed, no fire/physical % damage for your build (1 item with the affix does not count as a real amount). Get these (you have yellows, they come on legs, play normals and grind some quick bounty legs) and you'll be fine. You're able to cheese toughness requirements a little with Smoke Screen too, so just remember to build up that dps through secondaries after DEX.

I really like your build though ;)

Windforce was never good, why is that being used as a reference

Manticore I can understand. Or Kridershot.

Dude, wait til you get the recipes that require Flawless Royals. Souls aren't even the beginning of the pain lol, I think they're in a perfect spot as they are. For the iffy luck you have anyway, you should be thanking the system for not allowing you to blow all your money and mats making legs as bad as the ones that contributed souls. Just run rifts, almost a guaranteed soul every 10-15 minutes if not more

It comes with a base amount X, and one of the random magic properties can also be X, leading to X + X = X combined with good luck.

After using this for a few days, I still have a couple of weaknesses I'm trying to sort out. I'm doing Torment 1 runs with groups and my single target damage with entangling shot sucks compared to using multishot, but I run out of hatred way too fast with multishot and end up just running around trying to avoid getting killed by the mobs during elite battles.
Reading the idiots guide now to tweak further.
Single target dps will always suck, we're pretty bad at it. Cluster Arrow solves this by giving us a huge single target/medium sized nuke. Our hatred spenders will suck forever until you get Kridershot. Try Grenades, they hit multiple times at close range. Fan of Knives with the hatred cost rune is also surprisingly decent, pick up Cull the Weak for a bonus 20% damage on it since it slows (tricky tricky)

    Quote from Rickthedick

DPS-wise 1handers are way beter, people seem to forget dualwielding xbows give you 15% atk speed and an extra socket and just this socket alone gives such a boost in dmg I mean +/- 250% crit dmg from your weapons alone is insane.

However the problem is that not many DH skills are Attack speed friendly meaning they cost too much hatred because you shoot so fast. So if you would go for actual dps over sheet dps get an 2h bow (preferably http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/kridershot or http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/burizado-kyanon).

They should change some skills that cost hatred a second not per attack or something.
Funny how when you equip two 1h's it's usually lower dps than a 1h and quiver huh? Don't remember a 15% attack speed boost anywhere, more like reduction. DH skills aren't attack speed friendly because most of them aren't channeled, low cost abilities. 250% crit hit damage IS a lot- but it's so rare to find two strong 1h's with sockets than it is any 2400+ dps weapon + a strong quiver (which doesn't come with the dual wield penalty). A 2h gives you more sheet dps, end of story, but 1h's possibly give more actual dps in something like a Strafe spec.

But Entangling is a very low damage ability...plus it has a target cap. Cull the weak is wasted here, because adding 20% to poop is poop. Culling is to be used in sync preferably with large damage skills (Cluster Arrow +++)

10+ million crits on 3 targets is indeed very mediocre when cluster Arrow frequently hits for even more (napkin math, 630% against 770%, so like 11m crits?) and in a 12 skeleton sized units area if you know how to manuever your mouse into the middle of the pack. Ricochet is underrated because any running Impale is playing a Derp Hunter.

Mobiilty is nice, but we're there to do damage. We're not the tanks that have to gather and tank everything. Face it, we do the most damage when we stand still and spam generators, spenders, generators, spenders, and cooldowns in between. Smoke Screen breaks cc, can be runed to heal, drops aggro, a million other things, and allows you to stand still.

These are just my thoughts on optimizing damage, which just in my opinion equals fun. I actually really liked running a fan of knives spec with a preparation - punishment and Night Stalker (disc on crit hit).

Your multishot build isn't bad, I'd just suggest replacing impale definitely, and consider replacing the arrow generator

Ambush is an awful idea, you do more damage for 25% of the fight and then what? Awful talent, never use it....especially in group play.

posted a message on Demon Hunter stat weights
Your abilities scale with weapon damage and speed, so a 2h xbow will make your Clusters HUGE, while 1h's while make them come out quick.

Dual wield is ONLY (imo) justifiable by the following conditions-

    Both weapons are 2400+ dps

    Both have sockets

Both need their usual DEX rolls (500ish)

And that can probably equal the 10% crit, 20% aspd 700 DEX % cluster arrow affixed quiver I'm using. Simply because 2h's are so easy to find, and a strong quiver is also not that rare. Dual wield, you'll notice, will drop your dps when you equip the second xbow if it's not strong enough (think every class has a dual wield penalty). If you think it's hard to find one great weapon, try two...quiver can't vary as much in stats, therefore they're the go-to for most of us.

Even then a quiver is probably better than an offhand with a 1h, I think you want the higher dps oneif you do dualwield in your offhand?
