I would approve of this if this is another viable way to farm gear.
Sometimes I don't have enough time to sneak on and do all 5 bounties in and Act and then repeat all the other Acts for bounty farming, just being able to hop in and kill a boss bounty would be nice.
I hope it's not just good because of the 2000% legendary buff.
And comparing 35 Grift farming to MP10 farming is like comparing fishing with dynamite and fishing with a bobber and a worm. I never said farming Greater Rifts isn't effective. I even said I'm sick of farming T6 because Grifts are so much more effective.
Except for the guys who make their living Live Streaming on Twitch ALL DAY LONG... then going to bed, waking up, and live streaming again the next day.
And was doing MP8-10 effectively and I would find 7-10 legendaries an hour when I was farming. Granted they all sucked because the stat affixes were horrible. But when I did find a gem of an item I would make lots of money on the AH.
I got my Barb geared the hard way, and AH my way to greatness on my Monk. My Monk had the luxury of finding a perfectly rolled Inna's belt that I sold for 2 billion on the AH, I'm still sitting on some of that money I bet (I never dropped below 300 million gold after that sale).
I'm a casual player, and I never noticed in D3V that drop rates sucked.
HOWEVER... T6 Rifts don't seem to drop legendaries at all... I could do 2 or 3 and not see a single legendary.
I do a level 1 Grift and see 2, do an 11, see 2, do a 21, see 2-3, do a 31 see 0... It seems to be completely random.
I feel like an entire 2 hours of Rifting nets me nothing some weeks, so we've decided to just GRIFT.
Overall though, I don't think Botters affect me because I don't care about leaderboards. I do however think Blizzard should be more vigilant in banning botters and taking peoples reports of botters seriously. I once was banned from WoW for botting and I haven't ever botted again after that, wasn't worth the risk to me. Today, people don't feel there is any risk to botting so it is rampant.
[p]Are we talking 2.1.2 here or 2.2? Because the 2.1.2 6pc bonus states the following: [/p]
[*](6) Set:
[*]Soul Harvest consumes your damage over time effects on enemies, instantly dealing their remaining damage.
[/list]
[p]The Big Stinker doesn't put a DOT per se on monsters, but deals damage per second to monsters near him @ 45% of your weapon damage. [/p]
[p]Things like Pain Enhancer and Gem of Efficacious Toxin actually put DOTs on monsters. I'm not sure if these work with Soul Harvest.[/p]
[p]But I would assume Soul Harvest does nothing with Big Stinker.[/p]
[p]Same goes with the 2.2 set bonus.[/p]
List tags are malformed.
So the worth it weapons are Bul Kathos and IK hammer. What about that Corrupted Ashbringer? It isn't worth a lot? Damage output of this weapon isn't comparable to 100% buff to Ancients? I hear somewhere that this weapon can IK (instantly kill) lvl 37RG and i have seen some really high crits done with it. So tell me if it is good enough to be compared with IK wep.
They nerfed the Corrupted Ashbringer, or I should say, adjusted the damage on it, it was doing 62,000% weapon damage instead of 6,200% weapon damage. It no longer insta-gibs GRift bosses.
Also, the NEW Bul-Kathos set for T6 (or even Grifts) and IK Boulder BReaker for Grifts (35+).
I will answer your questions as best I can, I do not main a WD, but I play one, and my cousin who I play with all the time Mains a WD and has since beta.
1) Your paragon experience rolls over, your 350+250 would be 400, as according to the www.paragoncalculator.com.
2) I would get rid of Helltooth, they aren't boosting it on the PTR, it is garbage, and will stay garbage. Hold onto all your Jade's and your Quetz.
Try and get yourself a good pair of Tasker and Theo's to keep, Mask of Jeram, a Tall Man's Finger, and any good ancient Zunimassa's. Also, look for a Homunculus offhand, Shukrani's Triump, Thing of the Deep, or Uhkapian Serpent. Any of these are fun to play with but can be used for any build using a 1h Weapon. Then you want to prioritize keeping a Starmetal Kukri, and if you haven't found one yet, a Rhen'ho Flayer. If you have a Furnace, awesome, this is still BiS for almost ever class that can wield it, the 40-50% elite damage is amazing.
Hope this helps, like I said, I'm no expert on WD, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Thank you Debo for gathering all this info. I am about to start a Witch Doctor on Seasonal, just waiting to get my Gem of Ease up to 25. I will be using your starter builds right off the bat as soon as I hit 70. Appreciate the compendium you've compiled, and for that I gave you a +1.
I agree with Filth over the type of mobs in Act 1 vs the other acts. But also the fact that Act 1 bounties are very fast, with the exception of anything in Caverns of Aranae, which is an instant leave game/reroll map situation. But I do not like the idea of having a certain place to farm legendaries, D2 kind of soured me on that because RNJesus hates me.
I would like to see a reference from HashFTW, but I used to use this combo quite effectively on my Demonhunter before 2.1.2. After that I am not sure if it is still effective. I would say test it out yourself and see.
As a "casual" gamer (Paragon 424 normal, 190ish season), I've found that my short stints of playing (under 20 minutes) seem to be fruitless. But on Monday nights, the one night a week I can devote several hours (4-5) I find that the longer I play, the more legendary drops I seem to get. At the start of the night the first couple of T6 rifts I get nothing, but as the night goes on with friends we will start getting as many as 40-50 legendarys an hour between the 4 of us. I think play time has a lot to do with it, as far as consecutive time, just my feelings. I keep a pretty detailed log of my own drops, and times, and notice this, seems to happen every Monday night.
But if you're paragon 120 and complaining about not having a furnace, suck it up, that's not enough time in my opinion to get a Furnace unless your extremely lucky. Play more, play longer, complain less.
Also, try making a T6 difficulty game, go the Royal Crypts in Act 1 and break vases. This place has a known high drop rate for Furnaces.
I really like the look of the Arcstone Ring, something to put on your follower to go with the Unity. Plus run it with my regular group of friends on Monday Night Gaming. Give those bastards with Fire Chains a run for their money!
4man group with full ashearas set each and everyone with ring equipped = 16 rings

I would like to argue Bagstone's point about them lowering the drop rate in D3V.
I've been playing since Beta, I got to even Beta ROS.
I'm a casual player (I play every Monday night for 3-5 hours) and that's almost all I play all week.
Sometimes with time permitting I will be on in the mornings to do a Grift/Rift before work.
When the AH was around, I had no problem gearing up my Barbarian http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/LiquidGold-1720/hero/19791886

Sadly, Kadala gives me shit when I gamble. I recently spent 2400 shards on my Monk trying to get Gungdo gear and got 0 legendarys.

I think they need to bring back Inferno from Vanilla and cap us at 12,000 dps and make it so level 57-63 gear drops at the highest difficulty.

That is Lamentation, not new. I've got it on Season 2 on Live.
