First off ... love the quote! I completely understand you as well. I rescind my previous rant, for it has no meaning whatsoever. Sometimes for me, learning comes "after" I have read what I write, or by someone telling me their point of view and me reviewing that. So it is very helpful that both of you have responded. I might sound crazy, but I honestly just change my mind way too much. Hence why I usually stay clear of threads, because one day i'll find something irritating and the next day I'll manage it. Your way of explaining how they gravitate towards certain threads was pretty neat too. It is all on me this time, for pretty much not thinking at all. I'm self aware though now, I promise haha! Hopefully in the future I can assist the threads better and maybe create an idea worth reading. Thanks again guys.

I actually agree with you. It made me look at things a little differently. Thank you .

I do think there have been many improvements. I have praised Josh M. for his acknowledgment on the game. I guess sometimes I get too caught up in the hype and speak more on their behalf than my own. Is this a therapy session haha? I'll just play the new season whenever it comes out, and enjoy the grind I guess. I just wish there was more player interaction on Hardcore and for more experienced players to be able to play next to each other. I have a hard time finding people that play Hardcore that can continually progress like I do.

The title really says it all. It has been a long time now since the release of Diablo 3, 3 years almost correct? In May I believe will mark the 3rd.
It is time that people were given more to do, besides greater rift levels. They will never be competitive, no matter how hard an attempt to make them is.
There is no reward for being in the Top 100, there is no reward for even getting to greater rift 35, besides an achievement. I mean ... at least you could give players an item upgrade, such as allowing them to upgrade their current weapon to Ancient or perhaps having the level 35 Rift guardian drop a couple random ancient legies the first time you conquer him.
There simply needs to be more for people to have any incentive to push forth. We have been playing the same material now for far too long, it gets EXTREMELY boring for those who actually do play the game. Consider this whining, or whatever you want, but the changes to items and affixes etc, are just a sign that no one really truly cares about this game and its future. Hopefully I can be proven wrong. Because the time it takes to do these upgrades is very little, especially with a team of people working on it. Time to bring some life back into Diablo 3, and yes, some sort of pvp-pvm would be great for this game. You have to get players playing with each other again, not just doing the same stuff they do on their own.

I have created a channel called "IronMan Dueling".

If you remember at all from Diablo 2, there use to be a pvp event called "Iron Man Duels". (or some shit) :P

Level to 12 with however many you want.

    No Paragon Points.
    No Gems.

Just the items you require from 1-12.

Once you hit 12, you all go into the brawling area and bam! Duel time!

If it works, it works, if not, you wasted almost NO time just to experiment something that could blossom.

Why would have have to explain something that is explained for me in this discussion.
Clearly leaving "..." as my words, sparked a bunch of discussion. I think I find that successful.
If Blizzard sees enough of a certain topic to change ways, maybe it will happen.
D1 and D2 were phenomenal. D3 could be too, if they really stopped with the whole, "it is mainly for slaying monsters non-sense"
Did anyone on that team do PVP when they played D2?
    Give me a break.

Thanks for the input man! I def agree that at some extent it would become boring, but it is a step and something they could put in for END GAME content at least ya know? Maybe with how many monsters you kill, you gain more bonuses to use for the end fight against your opponent? Say you kill 20 more monsters and you gain 5% more crit because of that. There would have to be a lot of thought put into it, but these are the basics. There have been other really good ideas like making it so you can't get 1 shotted by someone by making your life only recieve a total of 30% max health takeaway at once. So the better Items you have, the better you knock down their health, or quicker. Crit would be a big factor in this, allowing the most damage. I just want to see more done and not just strickly PVP either. DO the monster deal... where you enter a game with 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 and clear out a certain map, get a flag, then bring that to a Boss and kill the boss to place the flag down, but you could be interrupted and the other could interfere with your boss fight... and if they kil the boss first, they could place the flag down first. SOOOOO many things could be done, and they just aren't doing them.

Ex: (P1) and (P2) start off on a screen and hoards come from different directions.
Whoever kills the most monsters in a certain time frame will gain points. The
monsters will get harder as you progress. There could be settings involved with
this. You would try to balance this through ratings on players and how strong they
are by what they clear and how fast during their freeplay. Just an Idea. Run with
it, change it, just a thought I wanted to put out in public.

Given you could go anywhere with this. It's just an IDEA. If you have more opinions please share! I just want Blizzard to have some ideas thrown at them. You never know what could happen.

Personally, this would be really fun. Going against someone and killing monsters as fast as possible and that determines how many points you get. I mean sheesh, you could even activate legendaries dropping too, but if you chose to pick them up you lose your ability to beat the other person in monster kills. "legies could disappear on a timer after they drop". IDK just blabbing. I love hearing everyone's opinions so shoot away. I know this isn't clear... but I would like to see what others make of this blueprint.

Solely remove crit chance for only PVP.

I mean I understand people with "high paragon" would be at an advantage if someone else was wearing the exact gear with the exact build, but clearly you would see that.

I just want to hear the communities thoughts on this.

It's a bit convoluted. Also, there will never be and should never be a way to engage someone in any pvp activity without their prior consent. This means they should knowingly open themselves to pvp before joining or creating a game.

It should never be possible to kill someone in pvp that wants to avoid pvp. It should never be possible to grief someone by forcing them to leave a game with threat of pvp.

Any pvp fight should consist of two or more people who are willing and ready to engage in pvp.
Well, PVP wasn't always "agreed" on in D2. You could PK people quite often. It is ruthless haha, but it was tremendous fun for those who created an ART out of it. I believe if they really find a balance between characters with items and skills, which is huge obviously, they will find a use for this Idea. Overall I just thought putting something like this out there would be fun to see what people have to say and maybe bounce ideas around about it. Thanks!

    Quote from Doorsfan

I think a big issue in this would be just how PVP currently works in D3 (or Brawling, rather said).

Currently, there are no real algorithms. There is no real math in the sense of how WoW did it - no real DMG reduction from players etc. So essentialy, with this implimented as is - you would just probably one shot someone after their shield goes down.

Which sounds insanely dull to me. Not that it cannot be refined with math - but just the concept at hand. It's literally promoting griefing and conflict of philosophy. If i play D3 to have rewards in form of farming in different ways (albeit there are not many atm) - why would i want to have someone interuppt that for me?

If they managed to seperate it to a different game mode - then sure. Then i'm all for it. And it would essentialy become a lot alike to other concepts already done (i.e WoW PvP servers or PoE pvp leagues). This is a returning issue for D3. It tries to be itterative and "re-create" when in fact it's in a market where a lot of the other ideas have been done by themselves or by others... And not only that, but that the very premis of the base game is still flawed for such improvements.

They have itterated and chosen a base where the baseline is to get loot and more loot - there is litlle to any room to move in such a crammed space with ideas and concepts or dynamics. Its just all about getting loot. Fact is - it's evident as is. Does pvp excist in D3? Not really - And coinsidentally, does it relate to "getting items" in any way? As far as we know, it would be a itterative medium of "honor systems" from WoW or alot of other things there of. Already done.

Personally i would like to see more incentive to do different things with pvp. Like take your idea - add algorithms - then make a pvp open zone. Where people can just farm with a higher reward rate - BUT, there would always be the danger of pvp there. Then you could restrict it further with gear defining with some sort of gear summary etc. that would make it so that players who are out of your effective DPS or Health league, just don't show up there.

Now if that would be balanaced - i doubt it. Sincerely. I do not think there would be a competetive pvp scene of it AT ALL. But would it be fun? Sure. Mosh pit loot, RAWR.
I thought about the "one-shot" deal and all I could come up with really to eliminate a 1 shot would be to have the "pvp shield" be 10 seconds long. That way you could run away from that person, or TP.
Now given... say you're farming and "dumby" keeps trying to hostile you. If you're a party leader, you should be able to drop that person. I remember collecting ears in D2. I had fun running around battling people that wanted to. If they could just balance the characters, things like this "pvp shield" idea might flow just right. This is why I post... so my ideas aren't stuck in my head with no help. Thank you mucho for taking the time for such a big reply! Definitely what I wanted, and I agree!

posted a message on Allow "Express Hostility" Button.
Allow the old Siren to sound when someone clicks that HOSTILE button on you.
Because for some it inserts fear, and for others opportunity.

My Idea (Much like in Diablo 2, but with a twist)

    1. Create an "Item" ring, amulet, gloves, helm...anything that has an attribute called "PvP Shield". The way this "PvP Shield" would work is that whenever you have this Item on, you can Shield the first initial attack from anyone expressing hostility against you, and it will remain active for 5-10 seconds (depending on roll you get), allowing you to be invulnerable for that time. This would prevent people from PKing anyone because they feel like it. If you do not have the ring however, you are out of luck.

    2. DO NOT make this item available for anything but 1 slot on your character. Say it's a ring... you would have to have it on while you are with people so they can't turn against you and kill you instantly. If it is a "charm" type of deal like in Diablo 2, everyone would run around with it on, defeating the purpose of this item. I would like to to be a choice, not a "must have".

    3. Once you Express Hostility, that person has the choice to exit game obviously, or take you on. Once the first hit goes, the shield will activate allowing you to run or attack. Once you attack, your shield is disabled. The effect of the ring would not engage for the person initially attacking, eliminating a shield for the person engaging. This would make it interesting for anyone attempting to hurt someone in their group.

    4. If you do end up killing a player, the option to take 1 or more of their items should be possible, even if that item is in the stash! But only if the player is killed by the opponent who engaged the fight. No items would be looted if other parties participate in the kill of another player.

This is kind of the Idea I had last night when I was watching a stream and people were trying to come up with "end game" product. This might take some work to do on Blizzards part, but it would be thoroughly enjoyed I'm sure! At least that is why i'm taking my time to write this anyhow! I hope that the Community reads this and bumps it up if they believe in this Idea, or can add to my Idea!
