It will probably fall on deaf ears, but I am more than shocked by some of the comments here.
Are there people who lie about being banned for no reason? Absolutely yes. We all know the most prominent name, so I'm not gonna say it, and there are many others.
Has Blizzard ever banned people that were innocent? The answer to this is yes as well. In every Blizzard game that saw banwaves (especially D2 and WoW) there were false positives, and there were instances of people getting their account back after a ban. Even in D3, and even documented on this forum; especially during vanilla there were quite a few people that got banned, appealed, and later wrote that their ban was revoked. (Blizzard seems to not revisit the bans issued in 2016 though.)
There are false positives, and false negatives. I personally know people who got banned and who I myself am 99.9% sure didn't bot (you can never be 100% sure, but if they botted they gained literally nothing). I also know a lot of people who cheated in many different ways and are still untouched. I guess you need to have a friend you really trust who gets hit before you start feeling for OP.
One very important thing: Just because *you* are using something (like Yolomouse or numlock) and you aren't banned yet, proves absolutely nothing. It is more than obvious that Blizzard only targets leaderboards with the bans; the higher you are on the leaderboards the more likely you are to be banned for whatever cheat you used. Yet, there are even people at rank 1 in previous season or this season who cheat in one way or another and didn't get banned. So please don't use this argument for a justification, because it's pointless and proves exactly nothing.
Anyways, I'd like people to be a bit more careful and remain civil in their responses, on both sides. Everyone on this board is a human in front of the computer (the spam bots stay away from this thread ;-)) and has reasons why they share their feelings, either towards friends being wrongfully targeted as cheaters or towards preserving the integrity of the game by being ruthless to any ToS violation. While violating the ToS is against the forum rules, above all stands netiquette and being good to each other.
*Sigh*. I have a feeling this is a hopeless case. I'll keep an eye on this thread, if the "discussion" continues to be as toxic and lopsided, it will be closed.
