I'm having a really hard time figuring out why so many people are complaining about Ancient items.
I mean, every time I mention anything about how I want there to be an end-game, everyone tells me that farming for items is the end-game. The whole point of the game is to farm for items, looking for that perfect piece of gear. Okay, so, I get to the point where I finally accept that and decide that Diablo 3 isn't the game for me.
But, now that they're implementing a new tier of gear and expanding the farm game, I see nothing but complaints. So, what's the deal: Is it a farming game or not? I mean, that's what everyone was telling me before, but now all I'm hearing are complaints that your gear isn't going to be good anymore and you're going to have to farm all this stuff and blah blah blah. It doesn't make any sense.
You want to know what I think? I think that Diablo players, generally speaking, hate change. Use Ramalandi's Gift as an example: They announce this item that adds a socket to a weapon. I see this and think, "hey, that's a good change! Now weapons without sockets can be useful!" But what do I see on the forums? "Oh great, now my BiS weapon SUCKS! F U BLIZZ!" They gave us an item that made all weapons potentially useful (because, remember, a weapon without a socket was a piece of junk) and all anyone had to say about it was, "oh, great, now I have to FARM A NEW WEAPON." In a game about farming. A game where players are fiercely protective of the fact that it's a game about farming.
If you want a farming game, then don't complain when they give you stuff to farm.

Call me crazy, but I don't think it's "your transmog" if you just use a full set that Blizzard designed..

Hey guys,
I'm not sure if I'm the first to find this (probably not) but thought I'd share what I found yesterday.
Craft a Rare 2handed mighty weapon. (Can also use 1handed but harder because there are 2 BulKathos weapons).
Chuck it in to the Cube and use the recipe to turn Rare into a Leg.
Easy.
If you have enough mats to rinse:repeat you will get an ancient eventually.
Managed to craft this beauty after maybe 20 tries.

Give it a go before they nerf it lol

The fact, especially in public games, that you are at the mercy of random people and their selfishness is a design flaw in my opinion

No not because I don't have good characters of my own.
PURELY I can't stand them in game because those bloody horses dominate my screen with ugly green crap!
Can they not get the same treatment that other 'pets' got and be hidden or marginalized from my view?

Just wanted to share what I think would make the new Rift system stay fresh for longer. Apologies if these ideas have been said before, I don't read this forum all the time.
Currently as has been pointed out, you have a random number of levels (upto 10). You have the same objective each run, kill X amount of mobs and then kill the Rift Guardian.
If, as others have pointed out, you have accomplished this by say the 3rd level out of 7.. where is the incentive to explore the rest of the rift? The efficiency mongers will abandon the rift and start a new one as soon as the boss dies and on the surface of it, you can't really blame them.
I think it would be better to rework the "Kill x to spawn boss" mechanic.
Keep the meter, filling it once will lock in the spawn of the Rift Guardian. But the Rift Guardian will only spawn on the bottom level of the rift. You want him? Go get him.
If you've filled the bar once have another bar start up. The point of filling it will spawn Resplendent Chests or Goblins or a rift cache that has a chance of Legendary items at the stairs to the next level. Fill that one?
Well you must have scored a rift that has a lot of levels, this doesn't happen all the time, you feel excited that you get so much bang for your buck out of 1 key... The bar is ready to be filled again this time with (insert awesome reward that I haven't thought out yet).
Point is... you can do the bare minimum, kill what is required and rush to the boss if you really want to.
But to give some sense of purpose to the deeper rifts I think the incentive has to be increased.. the carrot needs to be dangled infront of the player's nose. Otherwise people are just going to ruin this promising game mode with "GOGOGO EFFICIENCY" type behaviour.
Thoughts? Thoughts on rewards or other incentives if you like this idea or state why you don't
