--> Will the majority of the actual player base quit the game because some enthusiastic players are botting? No. Will they cry about it? Yes.

--> Will the majority of the actual player base (including botters) quit, when blizzard decides to do smth against botters? Yes. Will a lot of innocent players be negatively affected by blizzards actions? Yes. Does Blizzard want to earn a lot of money? Yes.

Sorry, how do you know ? I know some people that already quitted to others botting, and botters that bots because they "have to" and will be glad to stop.

    Quote from ImANCIENT

Blizzard is not going to harm their business. Botters will always be there. That's how it works now.

Keep in mind that for every business, the reputation is maybe the most important thing.
And Diablo having the reputation as a bot paradise is not good to their reputation.

And I know plenty of people who would quit if they couldn't bot. I would imagine these people just do not have much time to play and do not want to waste what little time they have doing bounties or normal rifts etc.. I am not saying this justifies it, I am just saying you know people who quit because of botting, and I know people who would quit without botting.

And profit >>>>>>>>>> reputation. Do you really think a business would rather make LESS money just to have the people using their product say "well at least they are reputable" over making MORE money but having people say "they do some stuff I don't agree with"? IF, this is a big if, Blizzard were to lose money from removing botting completely, I don't think botting will EVER go away. Remember that Bobby Kotick is in charge these days, and if you don't know his philosophy behind the game industry and making money, give it a nice Google search. The guy literally makes every move based on net gains, which from a business perspective doesn't seem unreasonable.

How many micro transactions are there in Diablo? Reputation in a game like this is everything. You pay once. If people hear that it's Botablo, where's the incentive to buy unless they intend to bot themselves? Profit vs. Rep doesn't really apply here, unless we're talking about the resources required to maintain the fair game state. In which case, attracting more people to buy the game would be a larger gain.
I have to disagree on this one.
I'm not defending botters and I also think they're scum. But they will only impact on competitive play - leaderboards.
Since it's impossible to just trade items, bots cannot inflate the market with thousands of legendaries or sell them on ebay (like it happens in D2).
I don't think the majority of players really care about them.

As far as I know Blizzard is proceeding with ban waves in the beginning of every season (please DO correct me if I'm wrong on this) but I often see people saying "that's not enough", "the game is swarmed by bots" despite having no data to support those allegations.

Absolutely! It doesn't sound hypocrite at all!

You know what ? Let's put RoSbot, TurboHUD and Demonbuddy as sponsors!! According to your logic, Blizzard would start ban waves right on the spot.

You say "it makes the point of letter more obvious", but in truth the letter itself is so obvious that it wasn't needed to be written.
A petition would be much more fitting to the situation. That is why I think the people behind this "brilliant" idea are just attention seekers.

I can't believe something so ridiculous and hypocrite got so much attention.

1- Less than a dozen people do not represent the entire community, no matter how good are their intentions.

2- If you wanna make a letter complaining about bots and want it to be taken seriously, don't F%$#$@ let notorious botters stamp their names on it.

    Seriously, close this thread already.

If I get lvl 12 right now will I get banner and portrait right on the spot or do I need to wait for season 4 to receive them ?

No, the pennat from Heroes of the Storm is the one datamined a couple months ago.

These new class pennants could be rewards for the seasons to come.

I really hope you are right... last year I didn't get the blizzcon virtual ticket transmogs because I dont care about blizzcon and would NOT pay 40 bucks just for transmogs. IMHO 40$ for a virtual ticket is very unreasonable.

    Quote from Altreg01»

As an older gamer, big into D2, but a touch more relaxed in D3 Im curious what the next step is with the ladder. Ive made a very modest P 180 with limited game play, but with renewed focus in D3, do most reroll with new ladder or do they just continue their toons and ignore ladders?

Im half disappointed with new ladder, since it makes my current ladder toons moot, but also looking forward to starting over and playing a whole season HC ladder.

So what do most HC players do??

I roll a new character every season, but I really don't care about leader boards. I don't think I could break any records anyway.
I like unlocking new content like portraits, pennants, pets and stuff and trying new builds (usually available only on season because of exclusive items)

    rifts logic at the moment:

run bounties to get rift keys (normal rifts) -> Kill rift guardians on normal rifts to collect Trial Keys -> Run trials to get a leveled GR Key -> Kill Greater Rift Guardian -> If killed on time you will be able to select between upgrading the key to a higher level or upgrade a legendary gem. If you don't kill the guardian on time you will only be able to upgrade a legendary gem and will need to get another Greater Rift Key to open another GR.

Thanks Rayden.. no, not fast enough as using the game to (even though Ive played since the original Diablo was out) get my eye/hand coordination back, as well as enjoying myself. Especially since being a member here alot of people take time out to help, not like certain people on YouTube.. anyway yes too slow although I kill the RG I never get a choice of selection (not playing PTR)

    You are welcome mate!

Diablo Fans community is ok. One troll here and there but overall is just fine. Countless times better than the shithole official forums!

    Cheers!

Seriously, lets stop kicking this dead horse.
Like it has been said many times before, no matter how much space they give, people will never be satisfied.

People need to learn how to manage the sh*t they loot.

Kanai's Cube will mitigate this problem, since we will be able to "extract" the unique affixes. With this, not many reasons left to keep legendaries gathering dust in the stash..

posted a message on Why do people do full clears on regular Rifts?
    Quote from Gorok»

@Rayden_Weiss: That would mean that you are forced to clear them, and also if the implementation sucks (you don't have to kill the mobs, or most of them), you just kill the RG and run to the end of it for a nice exp boost, it becomes a tiresome task we have to do at the end of each rift, and if trials are any indication, players are getting sick of these little gimmicks quite fast. And this is just the obvious answer, I'm sure that experienced devs can find more issues with your idea on the spot. Granted anything can be made to work, but then you have to ask yourself if complicating an design idea is worth the confusion blanket you put over your less experienced players, which just so happens to be your majority patrons.

You already have some advantages for looking in all the corners of a rift, mainly for goblin packs. If we were to assume that 1 in 10 t6 rifts has a goblin horde in it, and in 5 out of 10 of these cases they are located after the line of completing the rift (guardian kill and all), then you are wasting half of your chances of stocking up on reagents/plans/shards/gems etc. Granted, not all rifts have layouts to limit our view on this possibility (if it's just one level, chances are we will get those pesky gobs), but in the end wasting keystone after keystone just doesn't seem to be worth it. At least this way, clearing the elites gives a real viable competition to closing the rift, exp, gold, items, you have many reasons to keep going, and less to open anew.

However I do see this as an issue, and increasing the rewards when completing them will alleviate some of these "going forward" philosophies, and turn people regularly to bounties.

"That would mean that you are forced to clear them" - Not necessarily. It depends on your goal. You wouldn't keep cleaning the rift after RG is dead if you just want fast blood shards or just trial keys.

"you just kill the RG and run to the end of it for a nice exp boost" - Thanks god we do have some control to optimize our grinding... People already do that since 2.0 came live. Make RG spawn as fast as possible, kill it, leave. I don't think this control over your objective is a tiring gimmick, but the exact opposite of it. You can aim and go straight to your goal.

"You already have some advantages for looking in all the corners of a rift" - No, we don't. If you chose to clear the entire rift you are just wasting time, because you will have the exact same experience and drop rates if you open a new rift, except that you will get more keys and shards much faster.

"If we were to assume that 1 in 10 t6 rifts has a goblin horde in it, and in 5 out of 10 of these cases they are located after the line of completing the rift (guardian kill and all), then you are wasting half of your chances of stocking up on reagents/plans/shards/gems etc. Granted" - Dude... you are stretching to much on this. This is RNG.... you can't just "assume" those numbers...
