Isn't a Radiant star a little high? I mean yeah in a week they will be dropping, but for now they aren't that common. I'd do it for transmog. Just trade over some of those fresh drops to "learn" the transmog. It only takes 40 mins to get to over 50. Only have to clear up to Leoric.

I think this test structure may just be a big mistake. I think an open beta would have been better for the community. Not having access to the max level content makes a lot of you guys bitter. You guys are just stuck trying to test out leveling up from 60-61 while missing the perspective of being maxed level. I am unsure if monster density has changed, but I often get surrounded. I'm sure that's due to my damage being low for torment and that sexy Ess of Johan.

posted a message on Question: How does Diablo still exist?
The Worldstone did exist from the beginning of the eternal conflict. It was part of the creature that created the angels and was desired by both. It was what the Pandemonium Fortress was built around. Inarius and Lilith stole the stone to build Sanctuary. Inarius used the stone to conceal Sanctuary.

The dark wanderer is Aidan, son of Leoric. He is the character who's story you act out in Diablo and he becomes the dark wanderer after plunging the stone into his head.(No pockets?) At the end of Diablo II you do destroy Diablo's soulstone and he is in some abyss as maka said. He and his brothers are sucked into the Black Soulstone once it is activated. I am not gonna say much more cause of spoilers.

There is a lot of cheating available on console. Honestly it isn't much of a problem without a living economy. Keep in mind the online communities are not managed by Blizzard via battle.net.

    Quote from Heretic_Ragna

If you have 0 interest in playing non ladder then I see no point in playing the game right now unless for fun, in the expansion there will be new crafting materials judging by the screenshots I have seen recently, MAYBE the new hellfire ring will use the same mats maybe not.... Since ill be playing only ladder and the itemization will be different there is nothing for me currently in the game.

Is there anyone else that feels like ladder will no be separate? I feel like it doesn't follow the general account design and the new shared paragon level. I feel like the push for endless levels is something they would want to build on. I feel like ladder season will end up being total xp earned per season. That would bring competition and overall account progression. Finally, In Diablo 2 you could create a new account for each season. each having 10? characters. I don't think they would like to bother facilitating more characters. You would need man more than twelve slots ( if they are expanding like I believe i heard mentioning) to prevent players from having to just delete their toons.

posted a message on [Suggestion]: Magic Experience and Magic Levels
I feel like removing NV stacks with item swaps or locking items while in combat would help with the mf switching.

Also I would like more information on the events, I would prefer playing the normal content less and spam the new randomly generated stuff. How will this deal with going between these events? Hell how is NV gonna work with that. I hope its one game instance and just an in and out thing. I really liked the endlessly deep random dungeon of torchlight and the somewhat random monster spawn in act 5 hell of diablo 2.

posted a message on No, they won't replace the AH. Trade needs to be painful.
I think there are several very strong points in this thread. I believe trading is an important in combating RNG. No matter how often you may find a valuable item within the game, there will always be something different that you need. It is important for you to be able to make a transaction to obtain desired items. I fully support trading aiding you make progress once RNG ruins your game play.

When you balance the rate in which you get an item that is desirable the availability of these items and the life of the item are very important. Removal of the AH and item binding will aid in controlling this. A very specific search on the Auction House is very bad for a balance since you can find the best for a slot and ignore all others that you can not afford. This devalues the middle tiered items significantly. Long lifes of items is also an bad for balance. If an item was bad it was sold or destroyed, but good items had a very long life. The better items were rarely destoryed and most eventually ended up on the auction house while not in use. Eventually items that were good get replaced by the items a tier above and comparable items became more prevalent. We start hitting a wall when the best items become available and all items become more prevalent. Item binding and the removal of the AH will greatly increase the value of middle tiered items.

Removing the very well controlled transaction that the AH provided is possibly the only truly bad thing for this game. The fact that with any transaction bad people are going to try to take advantage of the naive. I am not familiar with the current means of exploit ions done to players, but the one I remember and experiences was the trade swap. (Loosing a IK armor to a war hat with a chipped emerald really hurt!) I think flipping the trade mechanic would really help. I have heard suggestions of having a box you deposit items in that are available for trade. I am going to build on that idea to suggest a more secure transaction.

    1. Inspect the trade container and find an item you want.
    2. Barter for a price.
    3. Request that item or items from seller and price given in a static trade window.
    4. Both parties accept and items are transferred.

TLDR: Trade is good, AH was mostly bad, Secure trading for young and casual players.

    Quote from Jaetch

I would think you get to pick the difficulty. It's an expansion, not a completely new game. Think of it as an extension of the existing game, allowing you to progress forward.

Inferno was designed to be for end-game max level play. It is currently scaling moster between level 61-63 without monster power or all 63 with monster power. They may not take the option of locking Inferno for level 60s but I would expect them to simply raise the minimum level for entrance to 70. Otherwise only the Incredibly geared players will be able to progress.

Act 5 will probably just be open for everyone with who bought the expansion, on all difficulty levels.

New players who just bought the game (or rolls crusader for that matter) would need to be enabled to get into normal mode act5 right after getting rid of Diablo.

Lvl 60 characters who are already done with inferno, can choose to complete act 5 on any difficulty

I think its a shame that the story of the expansion does not have to be fought for. a lvl 60 can just go back to normal and 1-shot Malthael as he see fit, and have that as the grand unveiling of the story and plot.

I would wish for a scenario where the new plot was tough to go through, but in diablo 3, that will not happen, since we do not reset softcore (I do not want forced resets btw).

If Inferno still exists our characters would not be able to kill monsters in that content. The monsters would be something to the effect of level 73 if the difficulty design stays the same. We will likely need to revert back to hell to catch up in level.

    Quote from DeAdLiNebg

With loot 2.0 and ladders, I might just start all classes all over again. So this isn't that big of a deal.

I am still in favor of ladder seasons being a tracking of paragon xp gained during that season.

posted a message on Will Blizz add a new system to support trading after the Auction Houses are removed?

    Quote from Twoflower

Honestly, we had the most convenient trading tool, the AH. Anything they implement after that will just be clumsier. Why artificially restrict the number of people you can trade with to "the people who are in my game rigth now"? Or trade 2-3 items at a time ?

It's a very thin line. If the new system is too comfortable ( think AH ) then they could have left the AH in anyway. If the new system is too clumsy ( let's say for example that it will be easier to trade on forums than ingame ) then everybody will start trading on the forums.

I would not want to have to be the one making these decisions...

I agree here. its fine to bring forth something you guys WANT to see as the new trade environment, but take into account what this guy says. Blizzard will not make a "system" for you. You had it, and it caused issues Blizzard was not happy with.

There will probably be something like general and trade channels, as the only means to trade with strangers. No trading game, no system. And honestly I think we will make it work, although forum trading will probably increase for the "I play a lot" players.

We will not get game lobbies. A list of games that gets filled/closed etc. faster than you can read the title will not work. There are simply too many people playing on each server to have a lobby. That is at least what Blizzard has stated, and I think it makes sense.

I agree with you in that the scenario of simply going back to Diablo 2 style mean of trading is very likely. And like someone else said, Battle.net improvements could result in a vast improvement for player trading experience if the DIablo 2 style direction is taken by Blizz.

Either way, I think we can all agree that no matter what happens after the auction houses are removed, players who put in more time attempting to trade will have a much higher success rate of making a trade for an item they desire with another player. As a result, the same player spending time searching to make a trade in turn will have 'lost' that time in-game slaying monsters; having a chance to get that l33t item drop. Different players will continue to enjoy different aspects of the game and it goes without being said that having options is always better than having none. Some players would use a new system and some would not; choice is key.

Also, Pietrak: Could you possibly detail some features you'd like to see in the Trading Post idea you mentioned? Thx!

I agree that trading should require a time investment and a decision between trading and farming becomes a choice to be made. I also hope for a better item sink. Salvaging wasn't cutting it with crafting being underpowered. Perhaps mystic reagents will pull more items out of the economy.

Seeing all of the coming changes to itemization has pretty much killed the game for me.

I don't want to grind for a 6 CC Mempo, I want to grind for a legendary that makes gold rain from the sky.

    Also, Frozen Orb.

There's simply too much awesome on the way to be satisfied right now.

Also really looking to get into ladder, almost exclusively, so yeah, REALLY no point for me now, heh. Going to be a brutal 6-12 months...
    Quote from Twoflower

    I am playing Terraria.

    Two reasons :

1 : The announcement of the ladder made it clear that anything I do now will only affect non lader. Which I will not play. So anything I do now is just wasting time.

2 : The announcement of removing the AH leaves me unsure if I even want to continue to play this game.

I know there hasn't been any real informatoin on how Ladders will work, however i was under the inpression that they were going to count paragon xp earned / term. So start at 0 at launch and track what you have accumulated (on your total account pLevel) over the season. I'm sure that may need to be reconsidered since the highest level paragons do have an efficiency advantage. However, detatching the gold, characters and paragon xp would be clucky in the environment they have developed. Also, 10 character limit doesn't work out too well with simi annual fresh season.
