What superior AoE? LfB has better AoE component than SS. And Ballistic is not a dead passive on Fire too as it boosts Arsenal and Spitfire Turrets. And putting turrets aside, go ahead and compare how many clusters can you fire with and without Cindercoat. With it I can literally spam it while setting down turrets, and without it I spend "free" time doing what.. Hungering Arrow mostly? I'm not saying physical is bad, it's not, but please try not to be biased.
I did some testing on Ghom switching between TnT, Magefist, and Cindercoat (which meant switching gloves to Mara), and TnT came out the best (although only slightly ahead of Magefist, perhaps the extra fire damage is canceled by faster rate of fire for sentries and pets). Granted this was done with me not firing at all, so atm I'm not sure if Cinder could trump TnT in a scenario where I'd get to fire off more CA:LfBs on my own.

I still prefer M6 with TnT though, Sentries firing crazy fast is really a sight to behold.

I run physical with tnt and I won't be going back to fire anytime soon this is just too much faceroll in t6 with automatic dmg
I actually run Fire with M6 (6pc Mara) + TnT, no Magefist and no Cindercoat, don't really see I can't go fire just b/c I don't have those pieces since it's not like I can have +physical items in those slots. I just like the fire skills better with CA:LfB and MS:Arsenal with Ballistics boosting the Rockets damage. I just feel like it matches up better to use Spitfire Turrets pumping out fire skills and all the damage is fire instead of some physical some fire (the rockets from Spitfire are fire). If you go physical I'd assume you're running CA:SS and MS:Broadside. If you have SS then it's likely you also run Ballistics, which Broadside does not take advantage and neither do the physical sentries.

I ran physical for a while and just felt like the skills don't synergize well and switched to Fire.

I have all Marauders pieces except the head AND I don't have a RoRG that I'd consider goosd enough to wear yet, drop way too much damage.

Here's my build atm. I do have a Garwulf's three socketed but again I'd like to wait for the head piece OR a RoRG of worth.

    • I guess my main question is should I go Garwulf or 6 piece Marauders when I get the Ring? Which is better the 6 piece bonus or the two extra dogs? I'd tend to think the dogs?
    • And a side question, what's up with the stats on the link? My damage is right at 961k if I remember right and dex is well into the 8k range. The paper DPS on the bow ( don't mock the cluck!) is 2623 so far and it will go higher (WTH?).
    • And have they confirmed transmog benefits for the Marauders next patch?
    • Are my passives and +% damages okay on gear? Do I need to go all fire or all phys?
I do need another socket on pants but just acquired them last night and rolled the one so far.
6pc Mara bonus trumps the extra dogs by a ton imo. Also when you consider RoRG dropping yoru dps too much, you also have to consider what you're giving up by not wearing RoRG. You'll need to get the headpiece though to make it work as you'd want to retain Tasker and Theo with the 6pc Mara build. Honestly though I think you should try 6pc Mara build (replace vault with sentry of your choice) minus TnT for now and see how you like it. It does shine better with a 2h xbow + Rucksack though.

You should definitely add some elemental damage on your bracers. Ideally you'd want elemental, dex, vit, crit as the 4 stats. Try to find one with dex/vit/crit already on it so u can reroll for whatever element you're currently stacking.

I don't understand, what's so good in physical? None of the physical spenders are even close to CA:LfB, with Cindercoat you can spam CA yourself in addition to sentries which is a big dps boost, the only pet that does good damage is a Wolf, not to mention pets are simply dumb and you can't direct their attacks any way. I really don't see any advantage.
B/c when you're running Garwulf with 4pc Maras pets are a significant part of your damage and they get boosts from Physical. However, with that said, I don't think it's a build worth running until TnT is acquired.

I'd think the best-in-slot Follower item for WD would be The Furnace equipped on an Enchantress with either the all-skills or never-die relics. In which case stacking IAS may be ideal as well.

posted a message on TF or Doombringer?
I am currently in the process of collecting Zuni (only chest and helm thus far) and Jade (chest, boots) pieces, but the TMF + SoJ combo is giving me 2nd thoughts on Zuni since one of the rings would have to go in favor or RoRG.

Currently running the build in my profile, usually a 2039dps Doombringer with 16% physical skill dmg is in place of the Furnace along with either ToTD or Uk Serpent

    Some questions I have:

    1. I'm currently at 69% Physical Skill damage and 0% Fire, will Fire GargDog still be more beneficial than Leeching Beast due to the AoE? Does the GargDog get combined-from-multi-dogs LoH?
    2. Since I generate FS via Rain of Toads, should I equip Thunderfury (the one currently on Wizard) over my Doombringer? If I swap for Tfury, hence lowering my physical damage, does it then make even more sense to switch to fire GargDog?
    3. If I don't bother with Zuni anymore what are some items I should aim for to improve my dps?

dont leave the game with items on the floor number 1 rule in diablo since god nows when :)
It was common practice in D2, so it's really not that unreasonable for someone to think it would work.
This is D3 not D2, there's absolutely no reason to take that risk when there's a shared Stash. Empty the gear there and have the other character pick up from there. If it's too full to unload one character's full set of gear, make an alt to hold the unimportant stuff. You simply cannot drop stuff on the ground and not expect there's a chance they'll be lost. Even if the items don't disappear there's a chance while OP switches toon the friend DCs and game closes.
Thanks, wasn't sure what game I was playing...

There's really no reason for the items to disappear when you leave. And considering past practices by players in the franchise, it's something that might come to people's minds.

I mean, how many 100s of items are littered everywhere in almost every game people play? Especially when you stop picking up rares. There's really no reason for this to happen. It's not like the game needs to purge these 5 or so legendaries he dropped on the ground to save space. It's not really expected functionality, IMO. It's probably just a bandaid fix because they had a bug where if the player left the game the items became unbound and their friends/party-mates could get them (I mean in the sense that it would pseudo-allow trading, not stealing, though it would allow that too), so they went with the cheap and easy fix.

And if you don't read blue posts all the time, or forums, or whatever, it'd be very easy to not know this information. So I can see how he made this mistake. Everyone comes in here all superior like "you're an idiot for doing this" but it's really not that unreasonable of a thing to try. The stash really isn't that big, if you play a lot and are a bit of a hoarder. There are a lot of cool legendaries with effects you might want to try in the future with a different build.
TBH I think I would have preferred a hybrid with the D2 style where each character had their own space, with one smaller, shared stash for safe transferring.
I do play a lot and am also a bit of a hoarder, yet it has never occurred to me to drop items on the ground and log out when there's a stash every char on your account can access. That stash is your ground, only much safer as it isn't susceptible to disconnects. Playing a lot, being a hoarder, and having seven level 70s eat up stash space very fast, that's why when it got full I made pack mule characters. Even if I was to drop items I intended to transfer on the ground, I'd only drop the less important (hoarded items I just can't quite throw away but none of my toons are likely ever going to use) instead of set gear another toon intends to use.

I definitely wouldn't mind each character having their own stash in addition to the shared one.

If it says holy damage, does that mean that stat is useless to WD class? I reroled another stat to crit damage or crit chance, I forget , so does that make the holy damage useless?
Did you try rerolling a Monk or Crusader SoJ to use with a WD? I don't think Holy rolls on Wiz and WD SoJs so I'm guessing you had a Monk/Crusader one and you rerolled the Dex/Str to chc/chd? If you did then yes, that Holy skill dmg roll is useless to a a WD.

posted a message on 2.0.5 Pillar of the Ancients Build
This is kind of the problem Monks face, by the time you get to your first WoL, other classes have already killed the same pack of mobs you are engaging. Also while activating MR first before SW boosts its damage, starting with generators also mean you're likely to be using generators when already at full spirit. I don't know which way would be more efficient, perhaps pop a MoC first before activating MR. I tried WoL for a bit but found it to cost too much resource for not enough damage in return. I was running with a Barbarian and a Crusader on T4 and was only able to cast one WoL on each pack of mobs. Most packs are dead before the pillar does its full 3s duration. Fire WoL with Cindercoat may be better, but fire builds also favor LTK more.

I think Monks can use a mantra where, on activation, your resource costs are lowered, sort of like Crusader's Laws.

I have a Fire Monk and a Lightning Monk. While the Lightning Monk has higher dps stats (1.551M elemental dps vs 1.242M elemental dps), the Fire Monk plays a lot more fluid and kills faster b/c he's able to spam spirit spenders more often (Cindercoat + CDR gear with Epiphany) whereas the Lightning Monk spends most of her time generating spirit. Sweeping Wind really needs to either stay up for much longer (at least have the first tier last 30s to a min perhaps) or have its cost reduced.

I'm trying to up CDR on the Lightning Monk a bit so I can use Epiphany more often to deal with the spirit starvation. This brings up another issue of us having to use OWE + STI to not die too fast in higher Torment levels. With only two slots left I can't use the combo I really want in Beacon, MR, and Transcendence.

I was thinking since it's based off every time I hit something, possibly spiders or ghost bomb. Leaning towards spiders for the mana regen rune to be used for more Acid Cloud: Corpse Bombs. But we'll see how it works out.
I'm wondering how many fetishes will spawn after I drop a Acid Cloud (the one that drops a bucket on a spot) on a 10+ pack of mobs.

If you put Monkey King under "all hero", then Might of the Earth set should be there too. While Monkey King's Garb can be worn by all classes, its set bonuses only benefit Monks.

There are several things in this build I don't really agree with. First of all, cindercoat and magefists aren't really optional for a CA build, they are pretty much a must have. What good is natalya bonus compared to 25-30% cost reduction and+fire damage 15-20%?

The 4 piece marauder bonus is pretty good, but it's not worth to sacrifice as much as you are doing to have it. I mean there are a bunch of combinations available that are far better than this. The 4-set bonus also isn't really that good in group play, only solo.

I have 700k more elemental elite DPS than you, with about the same toughness and I don't even have that great gear. And on top of that, I have at least twice the resource cost reduction you have even if you've put full points in paragon. If I got my hands on natalya boots I could craft aughild head and shoulders for an extra +15% elite damage. You are severely underestimating elemental damage and resource cost reduction.
I think you are underestimating how much dps gain you'd get from having multiple pets to tank for you while you stand still and fire away w/o having to move (during which u can't do any dps) to not die. I swapped out a Cindercoat for Garwulf and I'm having an easier time and clearing t3 faster than I did with the Cindercoat.
