Jul 22, 2014Deatherian posted a message on Seasonal Rewards on PTR, Philosophy on T6 viable buildsPretty sure that's not the full list considering there isn't a WD item. No idea why every other class gets a class-only wpn/shield and Monks get gloves instead of fist/daibo.Posted in: News

Went to PTR last night, that WoL buff is only for that particular rune, not the base skill. Everything else was untouched, Monks are still very weak. Spirit regen is decent, but spenders are still very underwhelming. One thing that did make me very happy is Dashing Strike now gets the benefit of CDR.Quote from inkcheese
Serious buff to WoL and spirit gen buffs. Boring, yes. Weak, not really sure. Passives are still dumb though, but I don't know how fun 30% ias is with rimeheart builds.Quote from WarmongerXD
Anyone else think those Monk "buffs" are pretty fucking weak. -

Datamined notes get confusing like that a lot, kinda need to wait til official notes to be sure.Quote from Ki2s
Explosive Blast: Cooldwon reduces to 3 seconds (downfrom 6 seconds).
Time Bombhas been removed and replaced with Flash : Reduce the cooldown of Explosive Blast to 3 seconds. / Explosive Blast'sdamageturns into Lightning
Can someone explain me this ? Is every rune of EB 3 sec cd or just the new one ? Not clear at all :/ -

I'm pretty sure how the 23~26% buff and the 20% nerf will be applied won't be that simple. The 23 to 26% is supposedly to the baseline damage on the weapons where as the 20% nerf will be applied to sheet dps. In any case I'm wrong on the 3 to 6% buff.Quote from Gryffon4
If it ends up being a nerf it isn't intentional. Why don't you show where the nerf would come? They stated they're buffing dps with 2h by 23 to 26%. Reduction is 20% there should be a small net gain as Blizzard said.okay, since you asked nicely
1*1.23 (23% increase)*0.8(20% nerf)=0.984 so it's a 1.6% nerf
24% is a 0.8% overall nerf
25% is exactly the same (they should buff 2handerby a flat 25%)
26% would be a 0.8% buff -

I did read all the posts, I wanted to know where the % nerf numbers came from. Just simply throwing numbers out there doesn't explain anything.Quote from Emwe»Read all the posts: "The devs cant do maths. If the buff is 23% it will be a 1.6% nerfforcrusaders, if it's 24% itwill be a 0.8% nerf for crusaders, if it's 25% there will be no change, and if it's 26% it will be a 0.8% buff." There you have your explanation, to make it the buff you think it is, the HS dmg reduction would have to be applied before the new buff to 2h weapons which to be honest would lookextremely awkward from a designers point. -

"In direct response, Heavenly Strength will now reduce damage done by 20%. With both changes, Crusaders using a 2-Hander should see a very small DPS increase."Quote from Gryffon4
*facepalm* no you won't see a 3 to 6% increase. failing eductaion systemis failing.Quote from Deatherian
No, you guys are misinterpreting the change. You still see a slight increase (3 to 6%) from current HS to post patch HS.Quote from aranwu
The crusader's Heavenly Strength is going to make all the fun 2 hander crusader builds very weak... I was looking forward to trying out the Crusader version of "leapquake" but I guess not if this nerf actually goes through the live servers

The increased damage given to 2-handers will offset the -130% chd.Quote from Moxjet200Isn't the real problem the fact that with 2 one-handers you can get 2 emeralds vs 1 two-hander getting just one? If youre going for trifecta won't you always still want 2 one-handers? -

No they're not. The nerf to HS is only to offset the gain of using 2H.Quote from norbi1988Waaahh Crus nerfed... -

It is still a fix (not nerf) that was warranted and doesn't make the skill useless. It just isn't well above everything else now.Quote from Harkinate
To be fair, in a game like this with so many tightly-packed mobs, a reduced radius effectively means less damage.Quote from Deatherian
Or maybe you should try still using FO first before saying it's now dead. Please notice is damage is not decreased, just that its radius is slightly lowered.Quote from Essenji
Oh god that's annoying. The wiz nerfs pretty much means my gear is probably useless >_> nerfs in this type of game are just obnoxious. That being said, it was a needed nerf. -

what bothers me, what happens with accounts that have number of characters, each with paragon levels, but none of them with para100? Even in summ of plevels not 100.
also i don't understand - only levels shared? Or what you pick (which abilities\perks you pick) are separate choices for all characters? Because you know, if you have 10 characters (12 with addon) you probably dont need every spare point spent towards 1-2 stats, while you playing characters with 3 different main stats (also you probably dont need str if you play dex\int based characters same ammount of time.)
Please, please, please. Do yourself a favor and get an education
English most likely isn't his/her primary language so it's understandable. To answer your questions 2gutpik, it doesn't matter what paragon level they are, it all adds up across your characters. Say I have a level 50, 33, 2, and 12. When Paragon 2.0 comes out, these will combine to be 97 (50+33+2+12). Each character you have for that game mode (Normal or Hardcore) will have 97 points so you won't have to choose who gets what points. Example, I have five characters, each one will have 97 paragon points.
The combined paragon levels doesn't work this way, and if it does it needs to be changed. If you have 4 characters at para50, 33, 2, and 12, you don't get to be para97 when RoS launches. It simply combines the total experience gained, not the number of level you're at. It's far easier to get 4 characters to para25 each than it is to have one character to para100. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I still prefer M6 with TnT though, Sentries firing crazy fast is really a sight to behold.

I ran physical for a while and just felt like the skills don't synergize well and switched to Fire.

You should definitely add some elemental damage on your bracers. Ideally you'd want elemental, dex, vit, crit as the 4 stats. Try to find one with dex/vit/crit already on it so u can reroll for whatever element you're currently stacking.

Currently running the build in my profile, usually a 2039dps Doombringer with 16% physical skill dmg is in place of the Furnace along with either ToTD or Uk Serpent
Some questions I have:

I definitely wouldn't mind each character having their own stash in addition to the shared one.

I think Monks can use a mantra where, on activation, your resource costs are lowered, sort of like Crusader's Laws.
I have a Fire Monk and a Lightning Monk. While the Lightning Monk has higher dps stats (1.551M elemental dps vs 1.242M elemental dps), the Fire Monk plays a lot more fluid and kills faster b/c he's able to spam spirit spenders more often (Cindercoat + CDR gear with Epiphany) whereas the Lightning Monk spends most of her time generating spirit. Sweeping Wind really needs to either stay up for much longer (at least have the first tier last 30s to a min perhaps) or have its cost reduced.
I'm trying to up CDR on the Lightning Monk a bit so I can use Epiphany more often to deal with the spirit starvation. This brings up another issue of us having to use OWE + STI to not die too fast in higher Torment levels. With only two slots left I can't use the combo I really want in Beacon, MR, and Transcendence.
