Try sever and you can beat that easily. There's some vids floating around with that somewhere.
I used to use a Sever til I upgraded. Yeah, you can get higher numbers at the end of the kill but it's just some sort of buggy interaction with the 'Slain Enemies Rest in Peace' modifier. Not real damage.
Just for fun I decided to go for my highest possible single hit. Didn't spend a lot of time on this, so I might have been able to get closer to 15mil.
My Skills were Arcane Destruction, Sparkflint Familiar, Force Weapon, Pinpoint Barrier, Bone Chill, and Time Warp. My passives were Glass Cannon, Cold Blooded, and Critical Mass.
To get this crit (13,972,336 damage):
1. I Used Time Warp for 20% increased damage
2. Used Frost Nova for 15% increased damage from Bone Chill and 20% from Cold Blooded
3. Activated Archon Form for the 1600% weapon damage hit
I have 475% crit damage. I'm guessing the Time Warp, Bone Chill, and Cold Blooded damage calculates additively but I'm not really sure. I think the damage calculation would look something like this:
(weapon damage * 16) * 4.75 crit damage = base hit = y
actual damage = y + time warp .20(y) + bone chill .15(y) + cold blooded .20(y)
actual damage = y + .55(y)
My unbuffed DPS is 355k. I was able to 1-shot Azmodan on MP3 using this setup. Obviously it's an impractical build, but it was fun to do. I know there are wizards out there with a lot higher DPS, has anyone been able to beat this?
