    posted a message on Need help in optimizing my Lightning Wizard build

    Hello everyone.


    I always wanted to play a Lightning Wizard in D3, but since all good builds use Fire, i decided to make a wizard build with these qualities:


    - Easy to Play

    - Fun Mechanics

    - Infinite Teleport

    - An array of spells that could give me some nice visual Lightning effects on the screen.

    - Could speed farm T13 Nephalem Rifts.


    My initial intention was to make a Wizard with Passive and Reactive Lightning bolts and buffs.

    It would be nice to make a build like the LoN Bombardment, but instead of spikes, enemies would receive thunderbolts as counterattacks, and it would also look good on the screen.

    But after trying some combinations with Thunderfury, Fulminator and items alike, i realised that it would be very hard to create a build like that.

    So i moved on the the next best combination that fulfilled all my personal requirements for the build.


    What i come with so far is this:

    Gems im trying is Simplicity Stone (for bonus on spectral blade)

    Bane of the Trapped

    Wreath of Lightning (for cool looking lighting bolts flying of the screen and weapon dmg)


    The build is far from complete, im just experimenting with things.


    What i wanted to ask you guys was this:

    Am i loosing my time chasing this build? Will i ever be able to speed farm t13 with a build like this?


    I know theres probably tons of stuff to improve, so please feel free to make suggestions on how i could improve survivability and power of this wizard.

    OR, if you guys tell me that its not worth it to chase a build like this, i will use this character to make a support wizard with infinite teleport, time dilation and black hole, and my lightning mage will remain just a dream..

    Amém.

    I also cant stand playibg a fire archon Magé any further. In Diablo 1 and 2, lighing played a great role in mages. But in d3 it basicly stands there for decpraton

    Hello.
    This is my first post here. I posted the same question on LurkerLounge.com, but didn´t get any response, and this forums seem to be one of the most active that talks about Diablo / Hellfire.

    I would like to do some editing of the unnoficial v1.02 of Hellfire released by Marsch from the LurkerLounge forums.
    This unnoficial patch corrects and adds several things that always bugged me, so i decided to start from this patch.

    Basicly what i was thinking was adding the Butcher hidden cutscene to player everytime a player opens the door, add an option to cast teleport in town (but not other spells), and the main goal, to add the Battle.net Menu under Multiplayer inside the game.

    The reason i mention this is that this unnoficial 1.02 patch i mentioned above did add a new multiplayer option to use UDP protocol, so i know adding new options are possible, just not sure if the Battle.net option is.

    The reason i want to do this is to be able to play hellfire online on PvPGN servers.
    I know i won´t be able to play it on official blizzard servers, but on my home PVPGN server i can ignore versioncheck to allow connection of modded clients (which hellfire naturally is)

    Can anybody here shed a light on the subject?
    I know it requires some hex editing, just looking for some pointers on where (and possibly how...) to start.
