We all know that all those sales you talk about rode on the coat-tails of D2. So, really, D2 is the big success story, here. It is my conviction that, were a Diablo 4 to be released today, the sales figures would paint a very different picture.
Funny how they tried all they could to make a game as different from D2 as possible, yet were more than willing to ride its coat-tails....

Sorry but I disagree. If anything Diablo 3 was a success because of the success of Blizzard games not Diablo 2. Do you really think everyone who bought the game played D2. Ive got 5 other people to buy the game and they absolutely have a great time with it. They are not clouded by D2 bias. The coat tail argument is just old. Heard it year after year in COD. You could mimic the Diablo 3 sales argument on the COD forums. "Game sucks it only sold cause of COD 4!!" but continues to sell millions upon millions copies every year because for many people the game is just fun.

Blizz's reputation is releasing a game, tweaking it for years, until they reach what they feel is a great game and then developing a sequal. Blizz sells games becuase they are one of the only developers that takes there time to ensure that the ultimate final product they produce is exactly what people want. Are some going to be unhappy..yup but a vast majority are extremely pleased.

In 10 more years when D4 is released it will sell a crap load of copies and people will complain because it isnt like D3. Times change and so does the core customer base. I think Blizz knows that by how there games have evolved.

Why does everything revolve around gold?

Heck Im all for earning rewards for crafting like complete event X earn 5 free crafts you supply the material. Or how about, you know you found a decent item buts its garbage now that everyone has uber items you can salvage it for x crafts. You still have the material sinks but everything isnt about gold. Self found players can play and craft or those that like the AH can craft still using gold. I wish I could get more rewards for farming not just item loot. Heck imagine if they had "Legendary" drops that opened a portal to a new map you could play through once and it would close until you found a map again. Would keep my interest going.

Whaaaat, make a PTR and let us decide!

"We're going to be making a PTR almost every patch now"

    You're just delaying unnecessarily!

    Completely agree.

I wish other companies would do "PTR's" so they could find out the patch breaks other things ingame or realizes the changes arent having the change that was expected.

Whats funny is Blizz gets railed for releasing a "Beta" game and now they want to run a Beta Test before releasing a patch and they are getting yelled at. Nothing will please this community period. Blizz could give them a bar of gold for free and the community would bitch it weighs to much.

    Quote from Zuchi

Well, I might be lonely with my opinion, but I seriously believe that dropping full Inna's set is not an option for any monk build.

4 Piece inna's set is useless if you have high spirit regen build. For example my build I use Fists of Thunder + Quickening rune which generates 15 spirit per *each* critical hit. This helps me spam the bells or exploding palm. Similarly I don't really bother keeping SW up since the snapshot's gone, because I can easily get 75 spirit to start it again as soon as I encounter more mobs to hit.

I agree. I use FOT+Quickening and can easily spam my Montra with Transendance Passive to augment my Life Regen when needed for tough packs without loosing much Mana. I prefer the Tal Rasha Chest for the AS boost. More AS means quicker Mana Regen from my FOT and more hits for my Life Steal/LOH and Sweeping Winds.

Overall it really depends on the type of build you are looking for.

Personally I keep playing because I like leveling characters. My personal end-game is plvl100 characters with 200k+ DPS all with there own gear. I find D3, as a game, no different than any other game I play and I play all types. FPS, RPG, RTS whatever. All games are repetative. I play map X in COD go to point Y when game starts to kill people throw grenade in point Z to kill camper wash rinse repeat. I go to NPC X in Skyrim, get quest, walk to point Y, kill 100th bear on the way, enter cave Z get helm whatever wash rinse repeat. Hell I loved Pac-Man and Donkey Kong....the same maps and movement over and over and over....but it was fun. I dont get in depth with games...because they are games. I accept them for what they are, a temporary break from the hectic real life I live. Shoot, in summer Ill be on a boat, in the same fishing hole I used as a child, throwing the same lure over and over and over in the water to find that "Legendary" hog fish of a lifetime...and it will be fun!!

Are there things that can be improved...absolutely. Do I like the direction Bizz is going with Diablo...yup.

And btw, your avg dmg is nearly the same as mine, the only difference is, you have way less Vit than mine, and a tiny bit of differences in Int if with Marquise Gem socketed. Bonus wise, is a totally different thing.

Huh? 130-433 Avg Dmg on mine is nearly the same as the 63-387 Avg Dmg on yours? The difference is huge. And Int is close to mine if you put a Marquise in the socket. So the buyer has to drop another 80 mil or so to make it close to equal.

    Good luck on the sale.....

Like I said 1 to 2 mil tops quit fooling yourself.

I hate to inform you but you but that isnt even close to 300 mil. In all honesty if I was feeling nice I would give you 2 mil for that. Min Dmg/Int/Vit are very low.

Hi, thx for the offer but sadly, due to other off-hand that is available on the AH for you, you should find yourself a very nice off-hand like this too with just 2mill, that is if you ever find one like this.

Thx for the interest, and hope you can spend your 2mill else where.

btw, any serious offers will be considered. Just leave your Btag.

Look at mine. Bought for 40 mil. But hey good luck getting 300 mil there are suckers out there. What you have is far from BiS.

So are there any other ways besides the three he listed to make large sums of gold?
As far as I know, no.

Why do you need huge somes of gold? Ive got a Monk with only 109k dps but survives nicely on MP4. She has huge areas to improve on and she is leveling fine. People ONLY need large sums of gold to be just like the rest of the high DPS characters. You DONT need huge somes of gold to play the game at a reasonable MP to find items. People are to worried about everyone else. If you had no idea what other peoples characters were would you think your character is bad....probably not.

    Hmmm...

Got shoulders better than both can build VIle Wards I had for my WD/Monk. Rolled considerably better bracers than the can build Lacuni and even put a set of Innas Pants on my WD to cover move speed and still come out ahead.

23 million gold and you havent got a thing. Sorry but thats not a whole lot of gold and Im far from rich. As for that price of the gloves on the AH. You do realize that glove was 10 mil because crafting tanked the market on gloves.

Illusion...nope very possible and still cheaper than buying on the AH..imho of course.

    Quote from maka

I love the "if you don't like them, don't read them" argument. As if things exist in a vacuum. The fact that these guides keep popping up like mushrooms is more a reflection of the game itself than it is of the writers.
Try to think about things instead of just spewing some generic crap. The fact that all people wanna know is how they should be spending their gold is very revealing.

I think just fine thanks. Sorry if something as simple as not reading something angers you. I find them informative at times...yes people dont mind them. As for a reflection of the game..yeah how about I wiki everthing and spend hours figuring out things in a game instead of using something someone has put time and effort into to help others out to learn also.

Nothing against the guide writers themselves, but rather the people that request them. I mean, is it just me or have some people lost their ability to make their own decisions? I've been seeing a lot of this on this forum in particular, and I'm not sure about the other forums.

Ignoring the fact that it's funner to farm your own gear, what is the point in playing if you can't bring yourself to experiment with gear choices (the only thing we really can experiment with that has a negative consequence, losing gold)? We cannot screw up characters, and you can always get more gold/gear later if it's a bad choice.

Am I the only one who thinks this?

Why is it people are always so concerned at what other people are doing? If you dont like the guides dont read them. I like the guides, personally. It allows me to learn more about the game and sometimes catch things I missed.

My chat is disabled. Dont feel like seeing useless spam while Im playing. Plenty of friends online for me to play with and actually got a few more to buy the game and they enjoy it. I actually see less of my friends playing SC2 so that game must be dead.
